1 starIf I could give this place no stars I would. They are absolute liars. I went there when a tooth cracked to get looked at. Before I went I called and asked if they took ******* my insurance they said they did and they could fit me in that day. When I got there I filled out all necessary insurance info and repeated to ask multiple while I was there if they take MetLife and they over and over again said yes. While there I was told I needed a tooth extraction and implant. I then asked again if they take MetLife before going to the oral surgeon, and again was told yes. The oral surgeon then proceeded to give me a price estimate of $15,000 to replace a tooth when I inquired multiple times why this was so high and the office telling me I wouldnt find better than this. I probed ***** and said how is this possible with my insurance. It wasnt until after everything that they finally disclosed that none of their doctors are actually in network and they take MetLife by just charging everything out of network to my insurance. I now am Im stuck with a massive out of network bill plus additional out of pocket charges, and was continuously lied to the whole time with them specifically telling me they take my insurance, but in reality they didnt.! They finally also shared none of their doctors are in any network on the weekends but will charge take all insurances to charge out of network DO NOT go here, they dont care about their patients at all other than how they can trick them into getting as much from them as they can. I ended going to another oral surgeon who gave me a price quote for the EXACT same line items for $4047 vs Expert Dentals $15k quote! I repeat stay away from this businessReview fromBran H

1 starI had an incredibly frustrating experience with Expert Dental, and I would never recommend this office to anyone. I truly felt taken advantage of, and once they received their payment through Care Credit, they no longer seemed to ******* situation was time-sensitive. I would need to pay the full cost upfront, which was around $8,000. Since I didnt have that amount readily available, they suggested financing through ************* Credit. I was hesitant, but they assured me that if I agreed, they would give me a discount and refund any insurance reimbursements back to my account. Months passed, and I never received any update from the office regarding my insurance claim. When I contacted my insurance company, they told me they had reached out to the office for additional information, but the office never responded. After persistent follow-ups, I finally got in touch with the office and spoke with Rubina, who informed me that my insurance had only covered $170 of the entire procedure. After their investigation, it turned out that Expert Dental had incorrectly coded the procedure. The office then added a $600 adjustment to my account, but something still seemed off. After further digging, I discovered that they had only billed my dental insurance and never even submitted the claim to my medical insurance, which could have covered a significant portion of the cost.I took it upon myself to resubmit the claim to Aetnas medical side, and after a long back and forth, I was able to get $4,000 credited back to my account. .The lack of communication, incorrect billing, and unwillingness to assist after receiving their payment made this entire experience incredibly stressful. Patients deserve transparency and proper insurance handlingExpert Dental completely failed in both areas. I would strongly caution anyone considering treatment here to double-check how their insurance is being billed and to be extremely wary of their financial practices.Review fromBryce W

1 starThey do not have your best interests in mind. I went for a cleaning which was fairly straightforward and was told to come back for an oral surgery consultation, since I still had my wisdom teeth. I had no pain and the hygienist even said they looked fine and she doubted that I would need to do anything. A couple of weeks later I return for the oral surgery consultation. *** ********** took a look and then told me that I was going to need to take the top left one out because it has partially emerged from the gum, and that I should do it that day. I was not prepared at all for any procedures that same day, so I said I would like to wait and figure out when to best schedule a return. But he insisted that it would only take a few minutes and that he thought he saw a cavity already and that I was going to have to take it out anyway, so why not today? I've been lucky that I hadn't yet had an experience with a medical provider that tried to pressure me into invasive, expensive procedures unnecessarily, so I didn't know that that's what was happening. I felt pressure to agree, so I did. I felt extremely uncomfortable. The procedure itself went smoothly, but I still felt uncertain. I went home and looked up pricing for those procedures in my area and found that they had charged me nearly 10x what other dentists were quoting in my insurance's price estimation tool. Taking one tooth out ended up costing $4.5k. I called my insurance and told them the procedure codes I had been given and was then informed that most of them (and the most expensive ones) were not necessary for extracting a wisdom tooth. They were also not covered by insurance. Please know that you can always walk out of a medical office if you feel pressured to agree to invasive procedures. I didn't know any of this at the time and I'm still struggling to make payments to my credit card without overdrafting from my bank account. Please advocate for yourself.Review fromDana E

1 starI strongly advise avoiding this business (not practice). Once they have your information and you go for your first visit, you may find yourself stuck in an endless billing cycle. I went in perfectly healthy, but since my visit, Ive experienced numerous dental problems. The dentist/prosthodontist appeared inexperienced, forcefully cementing crowns that didnt fit properly. For nearly six months, Ive been in constant pain, repeatedly returning for adjustments that only seem to make matters worse. Despite this, they continue to bill my insurance for procedures that appear to have intentionally caused more damage.Even my insurance provider has struggled to get in touch with them. Meanwhile, Im bombarded with emails, text messages, and voicemails. To make matters worse, theyve recommended I see a specialist for surgery something I never needed before and Ive recently been receiving messages about extractions.I walked into this business in excellent health, and now Ive been suffering ever since. This experience has been deeply frustrating and concerning, and I cannot recommend this business to anyone. I should have chosen an out-of-network provider that is reliable and trustworthy. My insurance has informed me that I overpaid for the services, yet Expert Dental is still requesting payment.Review fromSadie S

1 starI had an awful experience at this dental office as a new patient. I went in for a routine checkup and was told I needed two major fillings totaling $2.5k. They assured me over the phone that they were in-network with my insurance, but when I reviewed the itemized estimate, it turned out they were actually out-of-network, meaning I’d be stuck paying the full amount. Thankfully, I decided not to move forward with the work.
Fast forward eight months—after moving out of state, I finally got a second opinion. I was nervous, thinking my teeth were in terrible shape because I hadn’t addressed the supposed cavities. To my absolute shock, the new dentist told me I had no cavities at all! ZERO.
This practice tried to pressure me into expensive and unnecessary treatments and misrepresented their insurance status. It feels downright fraudulent. I’m filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, and I strongly urge others to steer clear of this place. What they’re doing is unethical and should be reported.Review fromTony E

1 starTerrible experience at this practice. All my appointments are cancelled closer to the day and the receptionists/staff are terribly incompetent. I finally went in for an appointment (called in earlier in the morning to confirm the appointment), waited 2 hours and then was told that I needed to reschedule because they didnt have the aligners which they scheduled me to come receive. I was beyond apalled with the lack of seriousness and the blatant unprofessionalism at this establishment!! In response I was given a $5 dollar ********* gift card for me to grab a drink while I wait again for the aligners to arrive. They never arrived and I left!Review fromDanny J

1 starThey call you on a Sunday to cancel a next day appointment. I called them back the next day, they tell me no available appointments for one month, can you believe that? They put me on hold and wouldnt let me speak to a supervisor. Very rude receptionist/ phone operator. I dont recommend this place to anyone. This office is located on ************************************************ ???? go elsewhere, youll thank me for it. Follow up 7/14/24. The porcelain crown that I got from them broke call them and they will not Guarantee or warranty the work. This place is a total joke and waste of money.Review fromSarah S

1 starWATCH OUT - FINANCIAL PREDATORS!I went in for a quick procedure that I knew I needed. I had to go here because I was in pain, and this was the only dentist with availability on a Sunday. I was told the procedure would costs a whopping $1,800, even with insurance. I was in a ton of pain, so I took the office's offer of signing up for a payment plan using some credit card service (*******). After doing the credit check, I was told insurance would cover the procedure and that it would instead costs only $300. Months later, I received a bill from the credit card agency stating that I owe $1,800. I called the agency first, who directed me to call the office. When I spoke with someone at Expert, they confirmed that I had overpaid by $1,500 for my procedure. I asked them to refund the difference. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes, the person on the phone said "I talked to management and actually you have all of these other procedures you need and you can just use that overpayment for those." I stopped her right there - I wasn't going to be scammed into $1,500 worth of unnecessary dental procedures to correct their error (which they probably hoped went unnoticed) of grossly overcharging me. People complain enough about dentist performing unnecessary procedures. I am in utter disbelief that they tried to con me into getting some just to make good on their overcharge. Extremely disappointed. Please watch out for predatory dental practices like this one.Review fromKirsten M

1 starSTAY AWAY. THIS OFFICE IS A SCAM and uses unethical practices. They will intimidate you to pay for services that you do not need. They do not care for your actual health. Came in for a cleaning. Hygienist was kind and gentle.Dentist who came in was not interested in family history (which, i would think a history of severe periodontal disease would be important to consider) or status of my teeth, how often I brush/floss/use fluoride, you know, the usual questions that dentists ask to get to know their patient's care routine for their file.Instead, they told me I urgently needed hundreds of dollars for a nightguard due to jaw clicking (not covered by insurance) and that I 'must be grinding my teeth at night' and didn't look into the condition any further. If they had even asked my history, they would know I couldn't wear a nightguard because I wear a retainer every night....... Based on other reviews, I wasn't the first to experience this ridiculous upsell. Not to mention, when you decline, you are forced to sign a "Treatment Plan" contract stating that you would be financially responsible for all the work you didn't want to do. WHAT? I was confused, that it would be unreasonable for me to agree to pay for work that I didn't want and they said 'its just how the office works'.I will never recommend this office to anyone in the area.Review fromRebecca S

1 starDo not use this practice. I went in because of a change in my insurance, they were one of the few practices that would take a DMO plan. I've been incredibly diligent in the past with cleanings and addressing problems early, and was shocked to me told I needed over $17,000 in dental work that was not caught by my prior provider. When I asked for an itemized receipt for how much my insurance was covering (in theory, 50%) so I could see how much the real breakdown was they refused to answer my emails. When I went for a second opinion I was told only half of what was flagged as "urgent and necessary" needed to be addressed, and the cost out of pocket without any insurance was thousands of dollars less than what they were charging me supposedly with my insurance.
