The other reports against this provider about misleading suggestions that they are affiliated with people's employers continues to be an ongoing practice, as recently as today.I got a call from the provider two days ago saying they were affiliated with my company and insurance company, offering me a free treatment. Today a received a similar email.I know that in response to other complaints they have said they do not do this, or have discontinued the practice. Those statements are false.

Please note this person has been taken off all communication methods. Please be advised, in the email or the telephone conversations, we do not say that we are affiliated with their employer. We do however say that we provide a free laser teeth whitening to employees of select companies.

    Customer Answer

    Date: 07/09/2025

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The company is saying that they don't do this.  I'm saying that they did (or whoever they hired to make cold calls did).  I don't see any possible course of resolution if the company's position is to deny they are doing what I'm saying they did.

Calling individuals and in their first sentence mentioning their employer and insurance company is at best a highly deceptive business practice (and based on other reports, I am clearly not the only one calling them out for this).

    Potential customers, beware.

In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

    Sincerely,

    ***** ***********

Scam calling from the business that fakes a connection with my employer. Online reviews prove bait and switch tactic to lure you into a service after promising a 600 dollar free cleaning. It worries me that they are using my employer's name in their scam calling attempts and calling my work phone during business hours throughout the weeks.

Over the past couple of weeks I have been receiving calls, emails, texts from this dental office. I went there for one of their promotions. Because I opted out of having a few cavities filled, for months the weeks they constantly called and texted me about getting cavities filled so I canceled the free teeth whitening and they stopped. Also during the visit, I was told I would get a prescription for something to help strengthen my enamel, and once I decided not to get the cavities filled at that first visit, I never received it. Now they are calling me saying I am due for a cleaning, which Ive done with them already about a couple of months ago. I already told them to stop contacting me and blocked their numbers. Of course I dont have all of the calls and texts saved because I deleted them in hopes they would stop. But they have been relentless

I received a cold call about a free whitening free-of-charge at "212 Dental Care". They knew my phone number and name, and the company I worked for (though they could not pronounce the name) and asked for additional details for their records such as to clarify if the company was an "LLC" or not. They said they were calling on behalf of my employer and our dental insurance provider, offering all employees of the company the same service. They asked if I had had a cleaning in the last month, and since I hadn't they recommended I schedule an appointment to get a cleaning first and then from there they would schedule an appointment for the whitening.I confirmed through my employer that they were not affiliated with "212 Dental Care" and thus find their practices deceptive. I have not received an email about this "appointment" though they did request my email address. This appears to be a scam to obtain data on employees as well as the employer, though the purpose of this is yet unclear. Thankfully they did not ask for my SSN. But they did ask for my birthday.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. We take all feedback seriously and want to clarify our outreach practices to address any misunderstandings.

First and foremost, we are not affiliated with your employer or your insurance provider. However, we have hired a third party telemarketing company that does contact employees of select organizations where we have a significant number of existing patients and where the employer-sponsored dental insurance is accepted at our practice. Our goal is to inform employees about a complimentary laser teeth whitening, as well as an exam and cleaning covered by their insurance.

    Clarifications About Our Process:
?? No Misrepresentation/Transparent Practices Our outreach materials and call scripts accurately describe our offers and the purpose of our calls. At no point do our documents state or claim to be calling on behalf of your employer or insurance provider. We simply reach out to employees whose insurance plans we accept.
?? Insurance Verification In some cases, we request a Social Security number only to verify insurance coverage and eligibility. This is a standard practice in healthcare and helps ensure that benefits are applied correctly. However, providing this information is always voluntary.
?? Protecting Your Privacy Your information is handled with strict confidentiality and in compliance with applicable privacy laws.

That said, we respect your preferences and have removed your information from our system to ensure you are not contacted again.
We apologize for any confusion and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. If you have any further questions or require additional clarification, please feel free to reach out.

They contacted me claiming to represent a dental practice that has a formal agreement with ********, my employer, to provide free whitening services. They do not. I made an appointment. And in order to do that, I provided my insurance info and social security number. Upon further reading, I realize this is a bait and switch operation intended to extract money for services needed BEFORE the "free whitening". I would request that the 212 Dental Care delete/destroy the information I provided since they are not to be trusted with vital information. In the meantime, I am cancelling my appointment

On Wednesday August 21st a representative from 212 Dental Care contacted me on my personal cell phone and advised me that employees of 9fin are eligible for a $600 free laser teeth whitening service. As my companys benefits administrator I immediately knew that this was deceptive, if not an outright scam.I am asking 212 dental to immediately cease contacting 9fin employees and scrub their personal data from their records.

I received a phone call from the business purporting to be a special deal for dental cleaning based on my employer/insurance. I feel this is inappropriate and deceptive, as it suggests there's some arrangement with my employer (there is not, I checked), particularly given that they had my phone number and what seemed to be some private information. The business should not make these kind of deceptive cold calls, either to employees of my employer, the ****** Foundation, or to anyone else. The phone call I received was on July 10th 2024, at 5:45pm.I received another phone call from them on July 11, 2024, at 12:17pm.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This company should not do company-employee targeted marketing, which is inherently deceptive and suggests an affiliation. It is annoying to need to arrange for internal communications at my employer to make it very clear to avoid this company; we shouldn't need to do this, and other businesses they decided to target the employees of should not need to deal with this either.

They have been calling Bronxworks staff throughout all of our locations and telling our staff that would be offering them $ 600 worth of teeth- whitening services. The dialogue would start off with conducting a cleaning & x-rays first, then they would do fillings. We provide benefits to our staff and this is not an approved vendor of Bronxworks. We would like them to stop all contact to staff employed at Bronxworks.

I made an appointment for a free teeth whitening offered to my company, but then cancelled as I couldn't make it. I advised them I'd call back to reschedule on my OWN time and this company has called me nonstop ever since. It's been months, this is really annoying and obnoxious. You're calling adults that can reschedule on their own, stop hounding us to make appointments. All you're doing is making me post a complaint on social media and let everyone know not to call for anything unless they want to be harrassed nonstop.Take me off your database, please. Next step I think I'm going in person to physically watch you place me on a DO NOT CALL list.
