Cosynd offers copyright filing services to musicians. Their advertised service is as follows:"We created Cosynd to turn the lengthy, bureaucratic, and expensive process of copyright management into one that is intuitive, cost-competitive, and time-saving by simplifying two essential tasks establishing ownership of copyrights and seamlessly registering them with the *********************** -**************************************** On April 2st, I submitted my copyright registration application with Cosynd. *** and made a payment of $100. It's almost been a year and I have not received my copyright paperwork for the *******************. I've tried to contact Cosynd multiple times and have not received a status update of any kind. I think I've been scammed and multiple other musicians have told me that Cosynd has a long track record of doing this to artists. Their current F rating with the BBB reflects this. This company is a scam, please save yourself the trouble of doing business with them. I completed the copyright application 10/23 and now 11/24 I am still waiting on the certificate. The company never responded to my inquiry email regarding a status update and neither will they answer the phone. Please do not do business with this company.Initial Complaint

On August 09, 2022, I submitted a song for copyright services and paid $90.00. Purchased a copyright from cosynd in 2022 (Jan 1) and waited patiently (as they told me the copyrights take 11 months+ to come back.) Now, over a year later, I have still not received any paperwork about my copyright. I am disappointed and feel scammed. The worst part is that I have been selling my book (which I thought was copyrighted) so that means it is circulating completely unprotected. I have contacted support many times, but have been given an automatic reply. Please shut this business down!Initial Complaint

I filed a copyright which has been listed as pending for the last 11 months. I have associates who have received their filing back from the copyright office within only a few months. This is not correct. There is no phone number or email address to directly contact Cosynd to receive proper correspondence regarding the status of filings. I also never received a proper receipt for the transaction of payment for the copyright filing. Businesses should be providing more diligence and records to their clients.Initial Complaint

I paid for copyright services from Cosynd *** for my musical works on 11/18/2021. I was told the process would take anywhere from **** months. I've reached out to Cosynd on 09/05/2022. Cosynd ****** **** has been stalling it seems, in fulfilling their agreement to issue a refund. They have changed the date of issuing a refund twice with no valid reason, as the email file will show. I'm still waiting to receive a refund.

On May 17, 2021, I paid Cosynd $110 to complete a submission to the US **************** on my behalf. I received a payment confirmation email from Cosynd that day (attached). I have also attached a PDF of my credit card receipt indicating the charge made on 5/17/21. I have included a screenshot of an email that I exchanged with Cosynd tech support in which my order was confirmed. According to Cosynd, a Copyright registration may take up to 11 months to complete. COVID-related delays may also add time to that process, per Cosynd. For that reason, I did not seek assistance prior to 12 months after payment. On 9/6/2022, I decided to check in on my order. The Cosynd website listed the order as "pending." I emailed the help desk on 9/6/22 and 9/9/22 and received only automated replies. I have since been unable to sign in to the Cosynd website at all; it appears inactive. Cosynd, however, continues to use its ******* account as of 8/30/2022 and 9/9/2022 (attached) suggesting the company is still operating. Despite this, I cannot reach anyone to confirm my order was completed. I am seeking proof that Cosynd completed the work that I paid for. If Cosynd cannot prove that the work was done, I would like a refund of the $110.Below is what the US **************** needs to confirm a submission occurred. I expect Cosynd to provide all of these details if they did, in fact, process my order:1) title of the work precisely as it was entered on application; and 2) name of author 3) name of claimant 4) method of payment; and 5) if a credit card, name of account; if a check, name of account holder printed on check; if a money order, name of purchaser written on the money order; if by deposit account, the name and/or no. of the deposit account; and 6) month and year of submission and 7) The case number for your file if submitted online.
