3 starsI got off the phone with Updater a little while ago. The service seemed decent and the agent handling my call was very nice. But I'm concerned about the informality by which Updater conducts its business. The agent was asking for my SSN and my credit card info over the phone and sent me a link asking for personal information. Additionally, Updater sent me a few emails and texts, each containing a different number by which to contact the company's customer support line. I'll be finding out whether I got scammed soon enough, but overall the experience was pleasant. But the fact that I'm having this anxiety over the methods by which Updater conducted its business is unsettling.

1 starDo not use this service, it is a scam. They haggled me trying to get me to tell them my SSN over the phone, and got increasingly frustrated when I refused to give it to them. Their emails are disguised to look like they are coming from the management company that you are renting from, but when I contacted ******************* about it, they said that they have no affiliation whatsoever with this company. 1 starUpdater is extremely scammy. They made it seem like I had to go through them to sign up for internet at my apartment. Then they set up my internet account with ******* wrong so I cannot access the account. They did such a bad job, even ******* cant get me in the account. I gave ******* my social which I also have Updater and that didnt work to get me into the account. Im concerned about how Updater used my private information. Additionally they recommended ************** for my move and it was a scammy company. A lot of my stuff is broken and I was charged a lot more money than originally quoted. As a woman, the movers contracted through this company when I was alone and forced me to pay more money in order to get my items delivered. The moving timeline was also not what was agreed upon when my items were picked up. Do not use Updater.Updater, Inc.

1 starThis company steals your information and pretends to be affiliated with your apartment's rental company. They store all information they illegally collected on you. No idea how they even get your information, but they'll send you an email pretending to be a part of your apartment complex to get you to create an account. DO NOT TRUST.Review fromSam D

1 starThis company has some shady marketing practices. A few weeks before I moved out of my apartment, I got an email from updater about their moving services. Since the email had my apartment buildings logo, I figured they had a partnership with our management. Nope. The building manager said they have no relationship with Updater and have no idea how they got my info. This is both shady and creepy. I will never support a business that steals info and misrepresents themselves in such a fashion.Updater, Inc.
