    The company put THE WRONG ENGRAVING on my father-in-law's headstone (****** ********) which is also the headstone his mother and father have been using for decades now. A family headstone is now ruined and they are not fixing the problem they caused. I have called at least half a dozen times now, have been promised a return phone call, and nobody ever calls. I spoke to multiple people, the latest of whom is ******* who says she is an owner, and nobody has followed through with what they told us. ******* was sending paperwork a month ago that never arrived. Like everyone else there, she says she was on vacation. Everyone vacationing while my Wife's family agonizes over a family headstone that this company has ruined following the death of their father.The headstone was ordered in February 2025 and was completed in March. The cost was at least $1,734.

    Wellwood Memorials was contacted by ***** *******, wife of the deceased, ****** *******, to inscribe his name on the family memorial. **** and ****** ******* (son and brother of ****** *******) then came to us to do the inscription for ****** as well. We then realized that ***** was already in contract with us, which we were then told by **** and ****** that we can go ahead with ***** and she can pay for the inscription. Since **** and ****** are both blood-related to ******, one of them had to (and did) sign the application and affidavit for ***************************, which gave ***** permission to do the inscription. After the inscription was completed, the daughter, ********* *******, called us and said she did not want beloved husband on the memorial (which was already completed and signed off on by ****** ******* as he is the next of kin to sign the cemetery documents), as ***** was apparently a step-mother to ******* children and there seems to be family issues. In order for us to remove an inscription that has already been completed, all of the children as well as ******* brother ****** have to sign a direct line affidavit for the cemetery to give us permission to remove the inscription. We cannot, and the cemetery will not, allow us to remove an inscription without all of the heirs signatures. On May 13th, the direct line affidavit was sent to **** ******* for himself and the rest of the family members to sign in order to remove the inscription. Wellwood Memorials is not allowed to remove the inscription without these signatures, which is where we are now. As of yet, we still have not received the direct line affidavit back. This is a family relationship issue and is not something that is at fault by Wellwood Memorials.

    I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: 

    What the business said in their response is not true.  Nobody signed off on ******s inscription.  She is not authorized to change the headstone, and nobody gave her authorization to do so.  **** (******'s son) sent in the inscription ******'s family wanted put on the headstone and was never told that something had already been suggested by Donna.  Instead of putting ****'s inscription on the headstone, without telling ******'s immediate family who is authorized to make changes to the headstone, Wellwood decided on their own to use ******s inscription.  This is entirely their fault.  It is not a family issue, it is a Wellwood Memorial decided to make their own decision without informing us issue.  Donna was to PAY FOR the inscription, not choose the inscription.  Those are two totally different things.  She was not authorized to choose an inscription.  

    They were running all changes through **** (the son), then all of the sudden stopped contacting him and never had him okay the final inscription.  This is 100% on Wellwood.
