      I received a phone call. The person asked for me by name and I responded, "it's me." She announced her self and said who she worked for and proceeded to ask for my date of birth. I was about to answer but then paused. I felt strange giving personal info over the phone. I proceeded to question for more details, and she got frustrated with me. Yes, I got loud with her because it was too difficult for her to understand it is my personal data I am about to give. She said, "I told you where I am calling from, ******* this call is being recorded." I told her I do not care if she is recording me is that supposed to be some type of threat I thought. I explained anyone in my shoes would question the matter a bit because anyone can call and claim they work at a certain place, that doesn't make it true. She got more agitated with me and continue to say, "this call is being recorded", but what is that to me, nothing! When she calmed down, I asked her where the company is located and such. Once I confirmed the company and the details she provided had been true I worked with what she needed. Granted things went "swell" after all, but customer service folks should also understand us from a security standpoint. These days scams are prevalent, it should be ok if we ask and verify who they are as they are doing with us, wouldn't you say....

      C. Tech Collections understands the importance of HIPAA compliancy and follows ****** guidelines to protect all consumers. Our agent was following the proper procedure of verification prior to giving out any personal information, we are sorry that this caused any frustration. We are glad to hear that after the verification process was completed the call was completed satisfactorily.

      **** paid years ago but this company calls out of nowhere several times for payment. Verified clear balance with the hospital and they still call. Woman got nasty and started to raise their voice. If I was yelling, it would be a different story. Great customer service. Then proceeded to tell me how I should tell the hospital to fix the issue. If the hospital is incorrect, thats the person who should get the harassing phone calls, not me. Very unprofessional, very rude, and border line unethical.

      C.Tech has been in business for 35 years and takes all complaints seriously. Our collectors are trained to be friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable while representing our clients to our debtors. Calls are recorded for quality assurance and the conversation between the complainant and our collector was reviewed. We found that the collector was not rude or unprofessional but trying to explain that the payment he made to the hospital was for a charge different from the one that was with our agency and that he still had an outstanding balance.
