On 9/29/2023, ***, a technician from Jovan and Son's arrived at my home; proceeding my phone call to their office in ********* Ny at approximately 11:02. He arrived approximately 10 mins later and I directed him to the location of boiler. Literally after a minute or two the furnace went on. I watched from the top of the stairs, since I am disabled, saw his flashlight swoop to the direction of the stairs and go out. The light from the stairs was on, I waited a moment, approximately 4 minutes, when he was not in sight yet I began to go down the stairs a a second later he was quickly coming upstairs. Point being he was not at my home "fixing" anything for more than a few minutes. I had told the receptionist that I thought the boiler may have had to be bled because I had used the emergency off switch. In ***** report he started he bled the boiler that I ran out of oil.I had not run out of oil as he stated and there was no sign of bleeding the boiler. He also reported on receipt that apart needed to be replaced. In conclusion. I called the office at 11:23 to let them know that *** had finished and was going to his truck and I was going to pay over the phone. I could not get an answer. *** came in a my payment was taken from him. I was told that the fee is $185/per hour. Since he wasn't here for an hour I wasn't expecting to pay for one especially not after later when I lowered my thermostat and when I went to turn it back-up the boiler/ furnace would not turn back on. I did contact the company. Same receptionist answered and when I had expressed my unsatisfied nature her reply was that she assumed I knew that even if it did not take an hour I was responsible to pay for it entirely and that the receipt noted that part had to be replaced. And that was it $202.73 and I'm still cold with no hot water. Invoice#*****.
