      College hunk moved mom from independent to Assisted Living, October 2024 then in April 2025 move mom from independent to dementia facility .suddenly the monthly auto pay price went up . *** calls to find out why and no call back from college hunks ,so we decide to empty it. I go to empty **** u have to call them 30 min n inform them ur coming ..So they can't find the key they had to saw lock off n I flipped out when I seen someone else furnishings in MY unit I police have report num . made appt to go there over the weekend with rental truck to get stuff out They can't find key again ssid come back Monday . rental truck was a waste , they make you call a half hour before hand so they meet u at there office n drive u to storage unit ,they open unit somebody else's stuff in my un****ow our stuff contaminated and I have a fragile medically frail sister home so all stuff had to in the garbage. couldn't take the chance to have bedbugs or cockroaches I want to be reimbursed foreverything we had throw out.There's nothing in the contract that says about sharing. Spoke with **** so called ************ said there's nothing says we can't. Guy was a real rude deceitful lying shack of p*** . He violated our rights and we never knew anything about sharing, cause I never would've done it with my sister medically frail health in our house.. I want ****** for everything that went in garbage bc of there scamming lying special ways They said there price increase which we not informed of. We paying $179 all sudden $300 and the other family was paying 300cause they claim that was a $600 a month unit which they sublease from another facility, which I googled that unit goes for like $250 a month it doesn't matter they didn't tell us of any price increase and nothing about sharing. I want my stuff reimbursed n close the lying scamming smucks down . The "safe and sound "storage facilitie is in on their scan. storage facility says the police what they're doing legal in there contract.

      I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: they were deceitful and lied. There's no sharing in the contract. I had to throw everything out because of my medically frail sister and they only offered me $1000 and they raised the rent without telling us $1000 is not covering the furnishings that we threw out.$3,000-$4,000 Minimum I will accept there was leather couches in their TVs ,bedroom  full-size bed, furniture, outdoor furniture, wicker sets, kitchen stuff a glass entertainment center ,huge mirror wall mirror you guys really messed me up and I'm not very happy with you and I hope they close you down. If you told us they were sharing involved, we would've never have done it. I have a sister on a ventilator and none of that stuff can come back in this house due to your being deceitful and lying And sharing our unit with somebody else's boxes, who knows what was in those boxes I certainly don't that's why they had to go into garbage, I will not accept $1000.

      [Your Answer Here]I called the number you left the 960 number again you offered me $1000. I had a storage full of furniture TV bed two leather  couches outside new furniture boxes of clothes glass wall unit huge wall mirror and you have the  audacity to offer me $1000 it's unacceptable. You shared our unit it's not in the contract. I cannot bring one item back into this house with my sister that is on a ventilator . You should be ashamed of yourselves and I really hope they close you down. You must do this to a lot of people. You're a bunch of losers and no, I'm not happy and I'm quite offended by the offer. You know I do believe in karma  and I hope this doesn't happen to you and your family one day. Bad enough it it's hard to raise a child that's sick and then to have to deal with people like you in this world you should be ashamed of yourself.

          This is some of the communication I have received.  They NEVER told me why the bill went from $179 to $300.  I called to ask why when it first happened three months ago.  I was told someone would get back to me.  I called yesterday and was told someone would get back to me.  I called today and was told someone would get back to me in 15 minutes.....that was an hour ago.

      Storage unit raised my price from $179 to $300 without telling me. When we went to take some items from storage they didnt have the key so had to cut off the lock. When it was opened there was someone elses stuff in there and I couldnt even get to our belongings They were going to have to empty and wed have to come back another day. They said I knew we were sharing a unit with someone else. ABSOLUTELY NOT!! Still waiting for a manager to call mer

           The business has suggested an amount to close this case but the amount is far less than they have erroneously taken from me for their services.  They have easily overcharged for their services and then for the last three months DOUBLED the amount they were already overcharging.

      Initial estimate was $2900 and I wound up being charged $5800 after all said and done. Was wrongly charged for blankets after was not disclosed that this would be a charge. Was not advised that there was a separate delivery estimate. Was lied to about how delivery would go and they were not able to reassemble my grandfather clock. Have attempted to contact the college hunks but they are not returning my calls or emails. I am willing to pay the agreed initial total of $2900 and am requesting a refund for all additional charges.

      I hired College Hunks Moving Company to *********** from Deer Park to ********* ** on 8/14/23. I was quoted a price of $1,600.00 including 3 tv box rentals for a total of $90.00. I was told the job would take longer than anticipated and the price would be $3,200.00 by the manager ******/***** not positive of his name. Upon conclusion of the day 8/14/23 I was given a bill for $5,500.00. I was told I would be electing additional insurance to protect against damages in the amount of $149, but employee ****************** informed me it would not cover costs related to potential damages to items or structural issues like damages to walls, carpet. ******** informed he cannot work over 12 hours a day including travel and the job could not be completed. I rescheduled to finish my move on 8/19/23 at which time 2 men show and inform the job is at least 4 hrs I was previously advised it would be 2 hrs so I agreed to nothing above. They mover used profanity toward me and left my furniture all over the parking lot. I called the office they hung up on me then stopped answering the phone. I called from my work cell phone spoke with manager after calling Channel 12 news for help 2 movers respond and begin moving my items. I noticed several damages due to improper storage on 8/14 and I am told this job is needing 2 additional men. Spoke with manager who advised it would be $399 an hour and 4 men if I don't pay $2k they will leave my items in the street or return them to a flooded garage I discovered when beginning the 2nd half of the job 8/19. Reluctantly I paid as I couldn't deal with any more stress. Almost every piece of my furniture is damaged. Mirrors broken even my wood frame dog bed is chipped. My carpets are filthy, I asked if they had shoe protectors they did not. The walls scuffed and debris were left at both properties as far as filthy floors and packing materials. They made this entire move an absolute nightmare from damages to extortion. I have disputed charges with creditor.

Your quote was given based on the inventory list provided by you to our Sales and ************** Specialist. Upon arrival on the day of your move, our crew saw there were many more items needing to be packed and transported. Our team got to work quickly and efficiently to ensure all your items would be moved to your next location. Our Operations Manager ***** arrived to speak with you about the job size and a new quote ($3200) given the added inventory. The quote ***** gave you was accurate. Your final bill was $5,541.81 because you purchased $2125 (plus $176.81 in tax) worth of supplies and Valuation because our team needed to pack the items not ready for transport. You also tipped the crew $400 in cash. Our crew loaded your items into your garage as instructed because your apartment was not ready and another move was booked for a later date to move your items from the garage to your apartment.

      I had College Hunks of Long Island perform moving services from *********** to ********** in Long Island, ******** on October 23, 2022; Job ID *******. During the move, one of the movers tracked dog ***** across the area rug in my office. I stated at the time of the incident and addended the liability release form at the conclusion of the move, stating that I wanted reimbursement for area carpet cleaning, as I am immunocompromised and at risk of infection due to the organisms introduced to the area rug. I notified College Hunks of Long Island on the day of the move October 23,2022 by addendum to the liability release form and via a formal complaint form submitted on 10/24/22. The company replied that I signed a liability release; but the addended the liability release form (see supporting documentation) was signed by the College Hunks Carrier Representative and myself (Shipper Representative) at the conclusion of the move; it was signed and dated by both parties on 10/23/2022 at 10:13pm. In written response to my complaint and request for reimbursement for area carpet cleaning, the company stated that I was not charged upwards of $600 during my service for inadequate staffing; therefore, they denied my claim.I paid for the services provided by College Hunks of Long Island, in full, on the day of service; in the amount of $2,294.43. The fact that the company did not charge me for inadequate staffing is irrelevant to the soiling of my area rug. In addition, the supporting documentation is evidence that I did not waive liability for my soiled carpet. I am requesting that College Hunks of Long ********** for carpet cleaning of my area rug to resolve my complaint. We understand your frustration of being left with a soiled carpet after your move. The Liability Release you are referencing was signed prior to your service starting, as this is company policy. When you contacted our Sales and ************** about the carpet, you stated you have an immunocompromised person visiting and thereby need the carpet cleaned.       Good afternoon,

      The statement that a discount was provided is not accurate. The move of a single apartment took 10 hours due to two employees allotted for the job initially and two additional employees were sent to expedite the move. I have the original response from my initial written complaint from the company that does not state that the discount was for my soiled carpet. 

      I would like my carpet professionally cleaned as a consumer cant waive responsible before a service is completed as unexpected events may occur during the process; as outlined in my complaint. To resolve this complaint please pay for cleaning my area rug.

      I hired college hunks hauling junk for the second time. First time was in February of 2022 and I had a wonderful experience. I recently utilized their services in October and had a terrible experience. I was told if I chose a weekday the cost would be lower. I was quoted at $626.00. I took the day off and planned my move for a weekday as to save money. The movers arrived on time and took 3.5 hours longer than expected. They took apart furniture I have never had taken apart and I have moved 4X with all of the same furniture. Although we did a walk through, they delivered furniture to the wrong room causing additional time to pass. When I received the bill it was over $1400.00. This did not include the ****** tip I gave. My bill was nearly triple what I was quoted and I was not prepared to pay this. I called the following day to speak with management. After two days of calling- someone named ***** got on the phone. He offered to compensate me $275.00 to settle the matter. He agreed to listen to the recorded line where I was told the anticipated cost snd told if I chose a weekday I would receive a cheaper price. He had not returned my calls on over a week. I am a single parent and being faced with triple the bill is horrifying. Seeking help snd compensation. Will not use this company again.

We charge on an hourly basis; therefore estimates are not binding. We only take payment at the end of service based on the time it takes to complete the service. There were unforeseen circumstances regarding your service which led to an increase in the time our team took to complete the move, including packing, moving, and unpacking additional inventory added upon arrival. This additional time, plus the $400 in supplies purchased to handle this inventory, led to the overage in the original estimate. When you called our Sales and *************** an operations manager offered to compensate you $275 , but we did not hear back.
