It was not good for the septic system to wash acrylic paint. Raised concerns about team not keeping the wooden floors covered that we had just paid to have refinished Oct 19Final walk through. Raised concerns over lack of cleanup, poor quality of cabinets begun to chip. Under chipping, it showed they did not sand down the cabinets prior to priming and painting. We have photographs which was in the contract I can attach the contract and photos once I open the case Precision Painting Plus(PPP) did not sand down the cabinets properly so the paint is chipping everywhere. Before they finished, the paint was chipping off of the cabinets. Cabinet job was valued at $6000. We have a remaining balance of $4650 with PPP. We have refused to pay. A new painter looked at the paint they used for the cabinets and said they should have used a different type of paint. New painter valued the corrective work for the cabinets at $6500 and displacing us for 2 weeks. Our daughter is 14 months old. She can't be around the fumes. Approximate value to live outside of our home in a comparable home is $500/night with taxes & cleaning fees would come to around $8000. We anticipate the displacement $8000, corrective work $6500, septic damages $588, light switches lost $191, refund for the additional coat of paint which was not done based on the paint quantity used $2600 and for cleanup cost$400 to total $18279. I have receipts.

      Dear ****,

We are sorry to hear that your project did not go as expected and that you are not satisfied. I have reviewed your account and spoken with the team members involved to understand your experience better.

It is my understating that the contract you signed was for $18,100, and you have made payments totaling $13,450. This leaves a balance of $4,650, which we are willing to waive to reach a resolution.

Additionally, we do not believe that all the kitchen cabinets need to be redone; instead, we feel that redoing/retouching 3-4 of the cabinets would get the result you hoped for. This will bring an additional refund of $2,050 to you. Furthermore, we are willing to refund you $191 for the electrical switches and $400 as reimbursement for the cleaning crew you hired, although we did send a crew for a complete cleanup. We will also issue a $2,600 refund to cover the cost of the third coat.

In total, we will provide a credit of $4,650 and a refund of $5,241.

We hope this solution meets your satisfaction and resolves the issues you have experienced.  Please let us know if our ****************** can proceed with the refund.

      Customer Answer

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

      Precision Painting Plus,

While we do appreciate the offer, it falls short of the costs we are going to incur to correct the issue. As we stated in the complaint, all the cabinets have issues with either chipping or poor paint quality where it is obvious it was done with a roller versus a spray. The majority of the chipping was also due to the Precision Painting Plus team not sanding the cabinets before painting and then closing the cabinets when the paint was still wet. This was the third attempt at fixing the cabinets. In the areas where it is chipping, it is obvious that the cabinets were not sanded, which does not align with the contractual agreement.

We want to make clear that Precision Painting did not honor the contract nor respect our home. Their team entered and utilized areas of the home that they were not working on. Leaving urine on the floors and toilets as well as paint splatter on the floors. We were left to clean up this mess. They left doors and windows open overnight with the heat system running.

I am willing to void the charges incurred for septic damages due to Precision Painting flushing paper towels in the toilet and the incorrect mixing/application of caulk which left pocking on walls and ceilings throughout our home.

However, I cannot overlook the total amount we are going to undertake to correct these cabinets and the other damages incurred to the home.

      Itemized out:
      8,000 Living elsewhere
      6500 job fix
      191 light switches
      400 cleaning fee
2600 reimbursement for the extra coat of paint
      -4650 subtracting the balance

$13,041 -- Amount that we would want to be even

We are including the extra coat of paint refund because based on the invoices provided by Precision Painting, and the fact that there is still blue paint around the trim and tape that they painted over, there is no way the team primed and did 3 coats of paint throughout our entire home. After consulting with another painter, it does not add up.

This is a large gap to bridge. We are willing to settle for $9,691. This would cover the job fix, light switches, cleaning fee, and refunding us the extra coat of paint. We are still going to have to pay to move our items and live elsewhere for 2 weeks to correct the cabinets. The opportunity cost we have incurred has taken its toll. We do not want to take this beyond the BBB.

I contracted with Precision Painting Plus (PPP) to paint the exterior of a house located at ******************************** (Project #******). The house was to be power washed, loose paint scraped, holes filled and 2 coats of paint applied. The contract stated a one year warranty against any chipping, peeling or bubbling. The loose paint was not scraped in all areas and was painted over. Some bubbling of the paint has occurred and paint is pealing in other areas. PPP considers the back and forth motion of the sprayer to be equivalent to the contracted 2 coats.I notified the project manager about the loose paint at the end of the job and assumed it would be resolved but no action has been taken. I have contacted PPP by phone and text at least 4 times about the initial issue and the other problems I found later and still no action has been taken.
