I brought a computer in to be serviced. The owner, Sam, was aggressive over the past phone when I spoke to him in regards to an update on the service of the computer. First he told me he didn’t have it despite me having an open ticket in their records describing the diagnosis and the agreed upon service.
Another employee, Matt, was apologetic to me for the situation and explained that he found my hard drive and agreed to recover the data from it.
The owner, Sam, called the next day and told me that he didn’t have my computer and that he had my hard drive and that I was not getting it and then he hung up the phone on me.
I called and spoke with another employee, Matt, and he again confirmed he had my hard drive, but the owner Sam told him not to talk to me about it and hung up the phone.

****** BBB complaint is dishonest, inaccurate and inflammatory. The last phone call to **** was to tell him to come pickup his hard drive. I told him that he is forut**** it is still in our office since it has been over a year and anything left behind this long is considered abandoned by customer. **** has not disclosed to the BBB in this complaint that he abandoned the hard drive and it has been over 1 year since he brought it in. After a thorough search of our office to appease to ****** insistence that we had his hard drive, we fortu****ly did find it stored away as it had been over 1 year and we do not retain customer equipment that long as we are not a public storage facility. Note, this is a hard drive that has his name on it, whatever data that is on the drive is what it is, we have no responsibility of what data is present on this drive. **** brought in non-functioning computers and whether the drive works or if the data is what he thinks he wants has nothing to do with my company and is not our responsibility. Any and all customers or persons are responsible for backing up their own personal data, it is not possible to irresponsibly not backup your data and then accuse a company of being responsible for that same data. I was happy for **** when I found a drive with his name and called him thinking he'd be happy as well and come get it - but I got the opposite reaction - threats and insults. **** is fortu**** that this hard drive is still at our office as this is a customer abandoned device. When on the phone with ****, I sincerely wanted him to get his hard drive. I told him I wanted him to get it. He refused to discuss picking up the hard drive and instead continued to scream over the phone, threaten me with an attorney, the police and simply disparage me personally. I repeatedly told **** to focus on picking up the hard drive and he continued with threats and screaming. I told **** if he didn't stop threatening me I would hang up the phone which **** continued, so I then hung up as I have customers who can come into my shop and did not want them hearing this - keep in mind this is work and I cannot work with a person calling and threatening me. I spoke with my employee who told me **** called the next day 20x in a row when he was with a customer and unable to take the call - unsettling behavior. My employee answered the phone when done with the customer and again, **** threatened with attorneys, police and disparaging remarks. That is the reason we have not spoke with **** over the past days. My staff cannot help ****, at this point I have to work with **** to resolve this as the owner of the business since he has escalated this with his threats and I have to work it into my normal business day which is hectic. I have done this to protect my staff and make sure I know what is going on with **** and the threatening behavior.

**** brought in computers that were 10 years old and older, all of them which did not work and wanted to know if maybe 1 of the 3 could work, he said he'd be happy with that. He received 2 computers back and paid a total of $40 at that point. **** actually owes us money. **** has shown no willingness to pay, he has paid a total of $40. **** brought computers in that he knew had no value and desired to get 1 back that could work, he got 2 back. **** is now threatening and trying to get us to give him a free computer by screaming and threatening. **** waited a year to claim he had equipment and that he needed it back now as if we are withholding said equipment, which is false. **** provides accounting services to clients in this area and should be much more responsible to his clients with how he has handled himself and equipment, as well as how he is behaving and trying to disparage other people in the community. There is no reason to be filing a complaint, **** should have came to pickup his hard drive when he was asked to do so. **** should not irresponsibly abandon equipment. **** should back up his data - it is his responsibility. **** should have picked up when asked to do so.

I would like **** to pickup the hard drive, however I do not trust **** with the way he has behaved for the safety of my employees, other clients who may be present, neighbor businesses who may be present or myself. Because of this, I will need to arrange for a safe exchange and **** will need to sign off that he has received the hard drive and I will need to look to reconcile remaining monies he owes. I am working on how to do this and will look for this to be done after this weekend and Christmas holiday.

**** has been offered to come get his hard drive - he refused to make arrangements and insisted on screaming, threatening and disparaging. As an employer, I cannot allow **** to threaten myself or my employees, it's against the law. If necessary, **** will have action taken against him to protect ourselves or my business from disparaging remarks, threatening behavior or other. I do hope this can come to a conclusion, that **** will take a phone call, speak peacefully, respectfully and constructively, and listen to how how we will do the exchange and put this to rest. If the BBB can convince **** to do so, I'd appreciate that.
