Yes my ****** ******** ran out of gas and was called in as being unsafe . So the nysp had it towed by AFTER HOURS TIRES and unfortunately was unable to get the bike for days . To be able to tow vehicle in Broome County there is an application process to vet the company making sure they are endorsed , that they have insurance basically vetting the company .When they were placed on the call list they agreed to honor the set TOW FEE SCHEDULE as outlined in CHAPTER 341 CHARTER AND CODE passed on 7/16/2020. Now I know they like to bring up why the property was towed to try to sway opinion like you’re a criminal or somehow deserve
To have you’re property held by not
Being able to come up with the manufactured and overinflated price for the tow. My bill was 918.00 dollars but if you look at the bill None of the charges coincide with the TOW FEE SCHEDULE 341 0f THE BROOME COUNTY CHAPTER AND CODE. I was charged 250.00 for the tow when it should have been 150.00 I was charged 75.00 a day for storage when it should have been 50.00 . I was charged a made up 100.00 lot fee. I was charged 50.00 for a made up storage prep fee. And I was charged 75.00 for Saturday and 75.00 for Sunday . and the last I checked weekends are not business days . So if you add that all up my bill , according to the BROOME COUNTY TOW FEE SCHEDULE CHAPTER 341 OF THE BROOME COUNTY CHAPTER AND CODE 4 days storage at 50.00 dollars and no 150.00 for the tow that adds up to 350.00 plus tax .My bill was 918.00 now if for some reason AFTER HOIRS TIRES does think they are being paid a fair amount for towing vehicles In BROOME COUNTY they can ask to have there name removed from the tow list and if not I’ll ask to have them removed from tow list but until then
They cannot just make up fee's and take advantage of folks who are already in a bad situation and doing it while providing a service to BROOME COUNTY. I will attach a copy of BROOME COUNTY CHAPTER 341 UNIFORM TOW FEE SCHEDULE and bill

14-Mar-2023 10:14 FaxDear ****,I am responding to complaint #I9513172 from Mr. **** *******. I just want to clarify a key few parts that Mr. ******* left out. Yes we have towed Mr. *******'s vehicles several times and all have been mandated by a police agency. The other case # ********.1 sent everything in to you last year regarding the same issue and allegations. This last one was not for running out of gas and I do remember him being arrested. But to add to the drama that he likes starting, every time we tow his vehicles we receive several letters threatening us, valgar and rude phone calls, calling the police saying we are overcharging, and wanting us arrested, and numerous Better Business Bureau letters and letters stating he issuing us. So being it is getting old responding to the same letters every time about the same prices, and about this new law that he is claiming. I'm sending you official documents from the********************** website. It was a proposal to become a law that was dropped and never became a law. If you look at page 1, top right corner, there is no date that it was signed in, nor is there aNew York Stateseal of approval. Reason is, it wasneverapproved. We do follow all the Police Agencies'contracts, rules, and pricing per contract. So, in a professional business response, if Mr. **** *******would use his time more wisely, and do more research, instead of making false allegations, and ofaccusing businesses of doing things that aren't real. He wouldn't waste our time, or your time, withthese responses. Instead, he should be focusing on taking care of his business in a timely manner andfollowing local laws, so he doesn't keep getting in this position.Thank you for your time,After Hours TiresThe original date of this tow mandated by the New York State Police was 4/27/22 at 9:M)P.M.

My car was towed by After Hours Tire on 11/24/22 and held until 11/28/22. When I went to retrieve my vehicle they charged me almost $1000 stating it was time and a half for the holiday weekend. I can understand charging time and a half for the tow on 11/24/22 but charging that amount for the next 3 days when the shop was CLOSED is asinine. I would have been happy to get my car the next day (11/25/22) but was unable due to their hours. If they were charging me time and a half for that Friday then there should have been an employee available to get my car out for me. They also charged me a $100 fuel charge to tow my car less than a mile. Not acceptable. I am livid at the astronomical price this so called business charges people. There is a cap in NYS on how much tow companies can charge. They are taking full advantage of people to make a buck and I will not stand for it.

Morning ****, I’m one of the supervisors at After Hours Tires. I appreciate you giving a chance to shed some light on to this issue. Customers always seem to leave out specific details to there situation to make there story sound better. We have regular fees for normal business hours for towing, and then we have different pricing for after normal business hours towing, and additional fees for holidays. Our towing department was open all weekend, but the shop was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday weekend to give our employees time off to spend time with there family’s and loved ones. First, we would like to state that we don’t just drive around looking to tow peoples vehicles like people seem to think. We were called at 9:30 p.m., on 11/24/22, Thanksgiving evening, by the New York State Sheriffs Department to impound the vehicle due to the driver didn’t have a valid drivers license, was arrested, and other pending charges. The call came in after normal business hours, on a holiday. So this means we have to leave our family and loved ones any time, 24/7 with no notice. You could be eating dinner, or in the shower. This is what real on call means. Being able to get to a police scene in 15 minutes.  We are not the ones that loaned out there vehicle to someone with out a license and let them drive it. The licensed owner of the vehicle is the person responsible for there vehicle, and anything that someone does with it. Unfortunately no one ever likes to take responsibility for there actions, or consequences. When ***** ******** arrived to our business, on 11/28/22, she immediately started swearing, carrying on, screaming, and being very aggressive. No respect for the other customers, families and children that was in our waiting room. We have full audio and video of the situation. We tried to calmly talk to ***** ********, after several attempts, we were finally able to talk to her and give her a break down of the pricing. She kept saying it’s Christmas time, and we are ruing her families Christmas. All of our pricing is per our contract with the police. ***** is claiming that we charged her almost $1000.00. That is not true, we are providing a copy of the tow bill that she signed, with the price on it, which was $650.00 plus tax, so including tax would equal $702.00.  New York State sales tax is .08 percent. Which is no where near, almost $1000.00 when I went to school. There is a daily storage fee per calendar day the vehicle is in the New York State certified impound lot. The vehicle was actually here for 5 calendars days, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday. We did take off three days storage, and only charged her for two days storage, to try and help out. Even though it wasn’t appreciated. We did not charge a $100.00 fuel surcharge fee. If ***** would of read the bill, the $100.00 charge, was for the towing and transporting of her 2016 **** ****** from the police scene, back to our certified impound lot, and the fuel surcharge fee was included in that tow fee, not separate. I’m sorry she feels the way she does, but we are with in the New York State tow rates. We have been more then fair for the circumstances. A police call, after normal business, on a holiday. We are truly sorry that she feels we caused all this around Christmas time, and now she can’t provide for her kids, or that’s what she was screaming at us saying. But what about if the person driving had gotten into a accident and killed someone, and her insurance wouldn’t pay because she let a unlicensed driver behind the wheel. What about that family, person, vehicle, or anything else?  No one ever wants to own up to there actions and choices. At the end of the day, we didn’t cause the situation, we were just doing our job that we were hired to do to keep the streets safe for everyone’s families. We just always seem like the bad guys because the police request to have there vehicles towed, and the people have to come here and pick up there vehicles. So in all there anger and rage, they blame us for all there troubles. They wouldn’t walk up to a police officer and start swearing and carrying on.                                                                                              Regards Supervisor
