******* ** ****************Dear Sir or Madam,

On or about 8/15/2023, I awoke in my house at the above address around 10AM to hear chainsaw. I found an employee from Snow Chasers, LLC, cutting down one of my flowering trees (possibly Ornamental DogWood, it had Pink Blossoms every Spring). I called my wife (legally separated) who owns the property with me (this tree was entirely located on my property). She said she didn't order it, and I believe her despite our impending divorce (we only have the property to sell before it is finalized). I called the police to file a report with Officer W****** of the Corning, NY PD. I declined to have the employee arrested for trespassing, despite the fact he never knocked on my door or ensured it was the correct address.

I don't know much else besides the facts below:
-I've talked with the company Owner's wife Courtney (she may also be owner)
-I've talked with receptionist at Company
-I have never gotten the owner (Chad?) on the phone or in person.
-The company stopped work at the time, but only two main branches remain on the tree and it will probably die, but also looks "crazy" to anyone interested in buying the house.
-The company said they would collect the heavy logs (they collected most of the smaller branches that first day), but they never did. They had until roughly 10/15/2023 when my wife's lawn guy collected them.
-They refused to compensate me in any way, including an option of removing a different tree and bushes damaging the front of the house. I AM NO LONGER INTERESTED IN THAT OPTION, and will possibly consult a lawyer (for Treble Damages) and/or small claims court.
-I left them a negative review on GoogleMaps, but otherwise have avoided mentioning them by name on social media.

Your guess is as good as mine as to who caused this, but it seems, even though they were unwilling pawns, Snow Chasers has not taken responsibility for their negligent actions. Name on contract was "******* ****" and a "fake" Google Subscriber Phone, no credit check.

Hello *******, as you stated we were absolutely pawns in this incident. We received a message to come quote removing a tree at your address, we sent an estimate that was approved and included a photo of the tree. We then scheduled the work and came out to remove the tree. There were no indications on our end that this request did not come from the property owner. When you let our workers know that you had not initiated this request they left what was remaining of the tree and spoke with the officer you called. We had told you we were going to come back to pick up the logs but your wife stated in an email that we were not to come back on the property so we did not. This is not a legal or insurance matter as we were not negligent in any way. We require estimates to be formally approved before doing any work and that was the case this time as well. You can contact us directly with any other concerns.

Attached is a screen shot of the request for the estimate we received and also the approved estimate which included a photo of the exact tree to ensure we had the correct address and tree.
