Purchased used gas stove on October 15, 2021 from this establishment for $301.32. On November 26, 2021, while using the stove, the peg that the knob slides on to adjust the stove top burner became stuck in the on position and would not turn to the off position when finished cooking, resulting in the need to contact the fire department for assistance. Upon the fire department arrival, they found the peg to be stuck in the on position with the burner still engaged. They were able to finally get the peg to the off position, but after it was “turned off”, the stove was found to be leaking gas still. The fire department also stated that the stove should not be as hot as it was. They disconnected the stove and turned the gas off and NYS Electric & Gas arrived to cap the line and tag the appliance as unsafe. Both the fire department and the NYSEG technician stated that the stove was a safety hazard due to the knob not working properly and the gas leaking from the stove itself. On November 29, 2021, Fix it Rite was notified of the incident and they say they will “repair” stove, but after that incident, I feel as though the stove is unsafe and do not want it “repaired”. I feel as though they should pick up and take back the stove and refund my money. I do not want a safety hazard such as that in my house, worrying if the gas leak is truly “repaired” or if not, the consequences that could occur from a faulty gas stove, such as carbon monoxide poisoning or fire hazard.
