    I had checked In quite late, things were fine until we kept getting random knocks and shakes on the rooms door. I complained to the manager Michael asking him to pull the tapes so we can get to the bottom of this yet he refused. he said that he was gonna have me kicked off the property with no refund intended because he doesn’t have to do anything. I said the situation seemed racist and I felt targeted. He insisted on having me kicked out in the middle of the night with my children. The way he handle him self was completely unprofessional. Even after I complained about the door interruptions he failed to resolve the issue and made me seem like I was the problem. After being there for only 4-5 hours I was kicked off their property with my children in the middle of the night.. being told intentionally that he will not refund me at all.

    I was checking into a hotel that I frequently visit, Embassy Suites, Syracuse, where no one was at the desk. I waited for a few minutes and noted that no one was available. I did try to contact someone by using the desk phone and hitting zero, thinking this would ring someone in the back, but it did not. I waited a few more minutes and then knocked on the back door. There was no answer. I waited a few more minutes and then proceeded to open the propped-open door and yelled “Hello” – only to turn around and see that there was a woman (employee) waiting there who stated, “I was just watching you go through our back room.” I reported to her that I was waiting at least five minutes, and she reported that she was in the bathroom and “it took me that long to use it.” She then stated that, “This is my first day back after being out at the hospital, so thank you for the warm welcome!” She then pointed out the camera, waved at them, and reported, “My manager Christine will be seeing this, and it’s being recorded. She will surely be having a conversation with you about your activity.” I was quite upset by the way she was treating me, but I said to her, “Let’s start over. Can we start over?” She replied, “If you will let me do my job.” She then self-disclosed that she was recently sick and was in the hospital and “lost a lot of blood.” As a healthcare provider, I was concerned about her well-being and informed her that this situation was not personal and that if she had placed the sign-up stating that she was away or perhaps had a second person there. I expressed my concerns, and she stated, “You don’t care about me. Good night, sir!” I regret to say that my interaction with the front desk person was inappropriate and unprofessional. Admittedly, I opened the propped-open door to see if someone was available. If only a simple notification had been provided that she was unavailable, this incident could have been avoided.
