A horrible place with horrible staff. Corning Centers use the cheapest materials and use the cheapest, not diet-specific food available, i.e., diabetic. Almost all staff is rude and abrasive and will not return phone calls. A nurse tech left my mom lying in her own feces after proclaiming, "I'm not changing that" and left the room. Because of that and the lack of turning my mom every 2 hours, my mom developed a painful stage 2 pressure ulcer on her sacrum, and stage 1 started on her heel. While my mom was being "treated," she had two strokes within two weeks of each other. I blame the last stroke on Corning Centers! After my mom was lied to about receiving pain medications (there was never an order in the computer), she lay in agonizing pain for over 12 hours, which substantially raised her blood pressure. It was not until I called and complained that an order for pain medication was entered into the system and given to my mom, not to mention a waffle mattress was finally placed on my mom's mattress (my mom is immobile) after numerous requests for one had gone unfulfilled. A little too late, the very next morning was when my mom had her second stroke while under the care of Corning Centers. I have so much more I could say, but I wanted to write about the most recent events that unfolded. I am in healthcare, and my mom's the treatment/flagrant neglect (or didn't receive) while at the Corning Centers is unacceptable. Resolution? Is Corning Centers going to fix the residual damage from her stroke? No worries. My mom has been at another facility; her recovery has been like night and day. Perhaps if Corning Centers employ compassionate people, they might better serve the people they claim to care about.
