Date of the transaction was around the third week of August in 2022. Approximately $22,000 was paid for a 2012 ********* ********* with an extended warranty. I brought the vehicle in for inspection on the 28th of August of 2023 and it failed due to the undercarriage frame rusted and rotten passenger side rear inboard. I've only owned the vehicle for one year and the vehicle has less than 100,000 miles on it. I have put less than 5000 miles in the one year that I've owned it. The dealer has given me a loaner vehicle until they can find me another vehicle. The confusion that I have is what rights do I have and what can I do about it. The invoice number for the inspection is *****.

We bought a 2019 ****** from Jim Barnard Chevrolet with 46,000 miles on on 3/4/23. Within 2.5 months the lower engine failed (on 5/26). I called Jim Barnard at that time to alert them and told them I was taking the car to a ****** dealer to have the repair covered under the powertrain warranty. When we bought the car, it had a modified cold air intake and updated exhaust already on the vehicle. Jim Barnard was not transparent with us that this would void the powertrain warranty. In fact, we were assured that if there were a significant problem, the car was still new enough to be covered under warranty. After tearing down the engine, ****** informed us they would not cover the fix because of the modifications and it would be $10,500 to repair the engine or $14,000 to put the car back to stock. I left two messages and emailed Jim Barnard throughout this process. When I was finally able to get our sales rep on the phone, I was told I should have brought the car there first (which makes no sense because we had already shared that we thought it would be covered by ******) and that it was past 60 days of purchase. In a follow up call, I was told that they would look at the car if we could have it towed there, but they made no attempt to assure me they would actually cover the repair or fix the vehicle. I let them know the engine was already completely torn down and no longer in the car and that we wanted the engine to be repaired by a ****** dealer/specialist or put back to stock. Another week has gone by and they have not reached out or responded to my emails. The situation has been a nightmare. They sold us a car that blew up within 2.5 months and that can't be covered under warranty because of a situation that they knew about at the time of sale and now they are NOT stepping up to make this right. It's been two months since we've had a working car and we don't have the money for this significant repair. Beyond frustrating and awful customer experience.
