On 6/17/2025, 5/16/2025 and 4/16/25
my bank account was debited $100 from security credit SCS INC. This was not authorized as I do not have any debt account with them. As a result I’ll have to dispute the charges and change my card information. This accumulates to a $300 loss and that’s just what I’ve seen. I’m unsure if there are more charges from them on my account. Again I’ve never authorized this to be debited from my account! And am unsure of any debits that are to be paid by them. Thank you for your help with this matter:Business Response

I am not liable for this debt with Security Credit Systems, Inc. I do not have a contract with the collection agency attempting to collect. They did not provide me with the original contract as requested. Collector Mr. L*** threatened me and used obscene, profane and Abusive language.Customer Answer

This debt was brought to my attention, February 2023. The debt appeared on my credit report with no explanation. I then start to receive disturbing phone calls from the collection agency. Threating to sue if I had not made a payment. The representative coerces me into making a payment, though i did not owe this debt. I was very frightened. Each time the representative reached out to me he became more hostile. I reached out to an independent credit agency. Helped me to dispute the debt and seek legal advice, in which I did. As of September 8, 2023, the debt was removed from my credit report as the agency had broken several Fair Credit Act laws. The same representative is now reaching today 5-2024 requesting for the exact same debt to be paid. Someone needs to know that this agency is harassing individuals for debt that may not belong to them.Business Response

We gave her a minimal payment plan and she made one payment of $250.00 on 2/22/22 and then never followed thru with the payment plan. Ms. ***** did another credit bureau dispute on 8/23/23 and we again sent her another copy of her itemized bill and signed agreement. I am writing to clarify a misunderstanding regarding my relationship with ******* ***** ****** and the Security credit system. First, I want to assure you that I am not responsible for or affiliated with the department you mentioned. it seems there has been some confusion about my role and involvement. I do not have any contractual obligations or responsibilities with that particular department. Regarding the security credit system, I can confirm that I do not have an active contract with them. When I previously requested a copy of the original contract, IT appears that was not provided to me. I apologize for any inconvenience this may caused. My intention is to resolve this matter amicably and ensure there is no further misunderstanding . I am happy to help provide any additional information or answer any questions. Thank you sincerely ****** ****Business Response

Security Credit Systems Inc. received a past due collection account for Mr. ******* on 11/11/22 for ****** ********* ******* in the amount of $4,376.40 for attending the school for the fall semester of 2020. We spoke to Mr. ****** on 11/14/22 and Mr. ******* admitted that he attended the school but was disputing the balance due based on FAFSA issues in financial aid. We did send Mr. ******* a copy of his bill and signed agreement on 11/14/22 and then again on 12/5/22. We had to resend the paperwork due to a change in address. Mr. ******* sent us a note on 12/18/23 that he was requesting that we contact our client and he asked for a settlement in full for $2,376.00 which was almost 50% off of the original amount due and our client ****** ********* ******* accepted the settlement offer as long as it was paid within 30 days. We never heard from Mr. ******* again even though he indicated that if ****** ********* ******* accepted the settlement in full offer he would pay it immediately. Now he is claiming not to know who ****** ********* ******* is and claiming he never attended and he did. He also claims Security Credit Systems did not send him verification of debt and we did twice. This is a valid debt. We would be happy to help Mr. ******* resolve this debt. I will again send the bill and signed agreement to Mr. ******* for his records.

I filed bankruptcy and all debts were discharged on 2/22/24. This collection agency began harassing me claiming I owe them a debt. I have not taken out any credit in over a year and all credit / debts I had were discharged in bankruptcy on 2/22/24. They are in clear violation of the FDCPA and also the TCPA by leaving a message on a cellphone and auto dialing a cell phone in the state of NY.Business Response

Security Credit Systems received an account for collections for Ms. ********* for ****** ****** in the amount of $131.73 on 3/5/24. We were never notified by the bankruptcy court or by Ms. ********* that this was included in bankruptcy. We sent one letter and made one phone call and left a message on her phone for a return call. One letter and one call is not a violation of the FDCPA when we had no knowledge of the bankruptcy. It is the responsibility of the consumer to advise us that she filed bankruptcy. Now that we know we have closed this account as bankrupt. Ms. ********* will not be called or contacted again about this account. Mary Ann R***** Compliance OfficerInitial Complaint
