I received a text message for number *** *** ****. I have no idea what this could be about. I think is a spam. But, they are saying I have pending matter with them. I don't know who they are and this is upsetting to me as I want my information out there. This is unacceptable if this is a business calling to want to speak with an individual. I want them to stop calling and texting my number if they don't identify themselves as a business.Initial Complaint

My sister got several calls from a phone number who refused to identify their company and said I had a court subpoena they were trying to serve me with. They called her again on May 6th and left a voicemail that there was a complaint with me as the respondent. Today, May 16th, they called my sister, father, and mother to say I was being subpoenaed, even mentioned US Marshals. I told them to ignore these calls and block the number. Then this afternoon, I got a call from the number. I answered and the person immediately hung up. I called back and the person answered "Claims, Vanessa." I said "hi, I missed a call from this number?" And she said "okay I'm looking to speak with ****** ******." I said "what is this about?" She said "I'm calling from a recorded line and I need to verify your date of birth." I said "I'm not sure who this is or if it could be a scam" and she said "I've never scammed anyone in my life so we can just move this to court" and hung up. So I called back and had an 11 minute conversation with "Ms. O****," who said there was no way the other person I spoke with did not identify where she was calling from and that they had all my information, even the clothes I have in my closet. She also that she could "save me from a lot of trouble" and that I needed to "take an inventory of my life and my choices" to see what led me here. I asked if this was a criminal matter and she said "are you asking me that on a recorded line?" which drew even more red flags. I have already spoken to a lawyer but wanted to file a complaint here to make sure other people know they have legal recourse against this company. I would like the business to stop harassing me and anyone who knows me. They clearly lie in their responses here but I have records of every call. I don't understand why this company is still in business with this much illegal activity and harassment.Initial Complaint

I received threatening phone calls from this number. I had 6 calls within minutes of each other and two voicemails stating they have a claim against me and will be at my residence shortly. I have no knowledge of this business or file they have regarding my information as I have never been in agreement to do business with them. I have not given this business permission to contact anyone, which include myself, my family, and my work place, I request that this company cease and desist from contacting myself, or anyone else using any information collected in my name.Initial Complaint

My ****** account was sold to MNS & Associates. November 12, 2020 we set up a settlement and the final payment was made January 15, 2021. I am still being harassed by another collection agency (********* ********* trying to collect on this same account. According to their records they have received no funds from MNS for the ****** account.Initial Complaint

This company claims that they only contact family members twice, yet they have contact several family members of mine several times in the past couple of days. Even though, they have yet to attempt to contact me. I have yet to receive anything In the mail from this company, yet if they had all my information on file, they would be able to?Business response

We only attempted to contact 3rd parties for location information on 7/19/2022 and 7/20/2022 as there was no response. We did attempt to reach Ms. ****** at the phone number provided ###-###-#### but there was no response as well. If Ms. ****** wishes to receive further detail regarding the matter in our office, she may do so by calling ###-###-#### or e-mailing at ***************@****************.com. No further contact will be made from our company unless requested by Ms. ******.Customer response

This business is calling my cell phone and my employer and threatening me with service of a lawsuit that have allegedly been filed against me. They are threatening to come to my place of employment (a law firm) and have me sign a letter of intent, whatever that is. I have no affiliation with this company and have no idea why the are calling and making unlawful threats.Business response

After review of the complaint details, we have come to the conclusion this complaint is not for our company, MNS & Associates LLC. Our call records indicate we have never called the number the complainant provided as her cell phone number. Also, in searching our files we do not have the name Cynthia Biggs in our system. Please also note, the details in the complaint do not conform to any policy, procedure, or script within our company. We are not a law firm, we do not sue individuals, and we do not have anyone served documents.
Attached please find the call record and file search both indicating no record of ever contacting this individual.

I have had this company call several times from different numbers and then proceed to call my son and bother him at work. I have no idea what this is about and why do they need my information when they apparently have it on file. I have never received any type of mail from this company and I would like to understand what this is all about before I give any info.Business response

Ms. ***** currently has a file in our office. It does appear that file was with agencies prior to us. We have only called one time on 12/1/2021. With no response we reached out to 3rd party contacts for location information purposes only. Per the FDCPA, when speaking to Ms. *****, we must verify information on file such as the social security number or date of birth to be sure we have the correct individual. If she wishes to discuss the matter further she may contact our Operations Manager, Michael S***, directly at ###-###-#### during normal business hours. This business is nothing more than a scam company who like to use intimidation factors. My mother in law and sister were contacted by a representative of this company by one of their reps, Mr Shawn (Sean) w****** ( not sure of spelling of his last name). He talked to.my mother in law asking for my SSN, my employer and my residential address. I attempted to reach out to this gentleman and have him supposedly pull my record by my name and my phone number. He stated that his computer wasn't working properly ( imagine that) and that he couldn't verify any information. He was rude and obnoxious which lit me up. I told him in no way shape or form is he to call my mother in law again. He hung up on me. He also called my sister and left a message demanding a return call providing my SSN, Employer and place of residence. I have recorded the message and will be turning over to my attorney for further acceleration against this company. I do not know who these people are their company. I demand a cease and desist.Business response

3rd party contacts are called for location information purposes only. After reviewing the call recordings at no point in time did Mr. W****** ask a relative for Mr. *****'s SS#. We do have his SS# on file already and under the FDCPA if and when speaking to him we must verify we have the correct individual on the phone using that. Mr. ***** was rude and irate which was cause for our employee to terminate the call. We do have a file ******** for a ***** W. *****. If Mr. ***** would like to speak regarding the file he is more than welcome to contact our Operations Manager, Michael S***, directly at ###-###-####. Company has called my brother in law and sister-in-law harassing them that there looking for me I called number vm comes up left message to discontinue calling my family to reach me they haven’t I called back Saturday at 2nd number ************ on my vm ring and rings then message says welcome to ******* wireless call can not be completed then in vm they leave number ************ same number I called night before now it just rings and rings the vm of man doesn’t come up this company she BE Prosecuted and shut down!!!!Business response

We called 3rd party contacts one time in attempt to confirm location information for Ms. *******. When calling the *** number the voicemail states it is Michael S with MNS & Associates, whom is the operations manager. MNS Associates has called me over 3 times leaving messages calling family. Threatening voicemails about asset verification from Isabella and then Corey gets on the phone and instead of telling me what he’s calling about because he said he cannot do that. I said so wth are you calling me for. He proceeds to speak out all my information like that is suppose to scare me to give him more of my information. You clearly don’t need me to verify information if you have it already. They are harassing me and it’s stressful and I will be moving forward with a cease and desist. As per company policy we only make 2 calls per each number on the file. Please see attached call record showing only two calls were made from our office to the number for the complainant. We are sorry you feel as if they are "threatening" but the calls are for the purpose of confirming location information. Corey stated the call was in regards to a personal business matter. We do have the information on file already but per the FDCPA before disclosing any account information we must verify we have the correct individual. Per the cease and desist request, the file will be place in the appropriate status and returned to the client so no further calls are made from our office.
