Filed my taxes with New Alliance Consulting Group LLC on 4/1/24 for the 2023 tax year. ****** ****** is the owner and who prepared my taxes. Once ****** got paid, he stopped responding to emails and calls. ****** never filed my 1127 NYC tax waiver for my city refund. He then lied about doing so . I emailed and called over 30x (I will attach proof). They never respond and always say he will call you back. I also spoke with the city, who confirmed they never got my refund 1127 form. This is accountant negligence. ****** is defrauding clients. Id like my refund asap. Id also like a refund for my tax preparation since the services were not rendered. Im asking for a call back and a refund of $185 asap.

    To Whom It May Concern,
Thank you for the opportunity to respond to *** ***** ******** complaint. We take all customer feedback seriously and are committed to addressing any concerns. We understand that *** ****** is dissatisfied with our service regarding the filing of his 1127 NYC tax waiver and has experienced communication issues with our team. We sincerely apologize for the frustration this has caused. *** ****** completed our engagement agreement for services on March 21, 2024, and provided the necessary questionnaire for tax preparation on March 26, 2024. Our team prepared and filed his *** and *** tax returns on March 31, 2024, in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the NYC 1127 tax waiver could not be filed at that time because *** ****** was unable to access the required form due to a data breach and phishing scheme affecting NYCs tax filing system. This situation necessitated that *** ****** validate his identity to retrieve the form.
During this period, *** ****** opted to file the main portion of his return while he worked to obtain the NYC form. His *** refund was issued on April 23, 2024, and the *** refund followed on May 1, 2024. *** ****** successfully obtained the 1127 form on April 30, 2024, and it was forwarded to the ************************* at P.O. Box 5563, **********, ** 13902-5563, along with the returns of other clients who faced similar challenges due to the NYC data breach.

On May 7, 2024, we spoke with *** ****** and advised him of the paper processing times once the documents were received by **************************, which could take between 60 to 90 days. Unfortunately, our staff spoke with *** ****** on June 24 and July 3, 2024, regarding the NYC return, which had not yet been received and contacted NYC in regard. The last phone communication was on 07/23/24. Upon receipt of this complaint, we requested our IT Department conduct a search for *** ******** emails. It appears that he may have had possible malware in his emails that were sent with the same heading repeatedly, which caused our systems to quarantine all communications from the listed Gmail address to safeguard our systems. This may have contributed to the communication issues he experienced.

We acknowledge that the delays in processing the NYC 1127 form are beyond our control, largely due to the NYC ESS security issue and the potential misplacement of the form upon its receipt by the *************************. To assist *** ****** further, we are willing to resend the form at our expense and will follow up within 10 to 21 days to confirm its receipt. In regard to the request for reimbursement we can provide a partial refund since the NYC 1127 form is prepared as a value added service at no cost for NYC employees.  We will be in contact with *** ****** within the next few days to address his concerns and work toward a resolution. We had our IT team scrub his email for the malware list in order to allow delivery. We value our clients and are committed to providing quality service. Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address this complaint. If there are any further questions, please feel free to reach out.

    Respectfully,

    ****** ******

    Customer Answer

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

     Hello,

The business ( New Alliance Consulting Group LLC) conveniently is saying they never received my 30 plus emails and they returned zero calls. They are also saying they would reach out to me for a partial refund and to re-file the 1127 to New York City. They have done neither. ****** will not respond to any emails. I emailed after the BBB resolution email and they still have not responded. ****** ****** is telling you he will do something but I know for a fact that he will not. I have been trying to get this corrected since 4/30/2024. This is unacceptable and ridiculous. There has been no communication from the business to myself since that day. They never filed the 1127 and the city confirmed they never received it after ****** lied that he sent it. In regards to a partial refund, I asked about that as well and I was ignored for the 30th time. What can the BBB do to assist? ****** ****** is defrauding clients and  once he gets paid, you will ever hear back. There are  other reviews on google stating the same issue I am experiencing.

    Thank you!

    Business Response

    Date: 10/20/2024

    Good evening,

We wanted to inform you that we have provided a resolution regarding your NYC 1127 form submission. We are also prepared to refile the form at our cost with the NYC Department of Finance, should you require it.

The delay in processing was due to a data breach security protocol initiated by NYC, along with potential email malware concerns. However, we can confirm that other correspondence sent alongside your form was received by the agency, though this has not yet resolved the issue.

To expedite matters, could you please let us know if you would like us to resend your NYC 1127 form to the Department of Finance?

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.
