In June of this year, I hired this business (Elwin Drew and his partners Ruben and Leroy) to do some bath/shower work in my two bathrooms; namely tearing out the units and replacing them. Many problems have surfaced since. First they put the wrong size shower in the rear bathroom, which forced us to cram the toilet in a smaller and more uncomfortable space. It should have been returned to the point of purchase but they decided to put it in anyway. The toilet was angled for a time; they came back in and moved the toilet and claimed to fix it but cracked the flange/seal which caused a major leak and led to a bad mold/mildew smell for some time. Had to pay a plumber $800 to do it right. Then we noticed a foul smell coming up from the shower drain. Called plumber back, turns out they completely removed what is called the P-trap which is a necessary part to keep sewage/gasses out of the home. There's also a piece of metal down the pipe area which should not be there. That's going to cost upwards of $1200 to fix because the plumber has to tear out some of the insulation. That job will be scheduled today. In the front bathroom, they put a round shower door on a square base, which is causing leaks onto the floor. Elwin came back in and said he "caulked" where the leak was, but that did nothing because it's still leaking and it won't stop without the shower base being changed out. Elwin said he'd come back in to do the job correctly but based on all of the problems we've had thus far I'm not sure I want him back in my home. We paid a total of $11000 for all of this work, but the final result is not worth anywhere near that amount. Extremely disappointing. We would like a refund of at least $5000 to cover the costs to repair the damage that was done as well as getting someone who is skilled enough to do the job properly to replace the front bathroom shower. The $11000 for the job was paid all up front, and we want our refund paid in the same way. (Not piecemeal.)

This is not entirely true. Mr. Drew did contact me to say that he would fix the issues. I declined at first, but then contacted him again to say that I had changed my mind and would like him to come out. He said that would not be a problem and that he would also reimburse some money, saying he "would be getting checks soon." Our last communication was via text on July 23 as pictured. I texted him on July 29 to follow up on when he'd be able to start the work and never heard back. See attached screenshots. Since these messages went ignored and since other plumbing problems caused by their work had surfaced after the fact that cost me over $2000 as previously stated, I would like some money reimbursed as promised.

I do not want them back in my home. The work was shoddy, they ghosted me when they initially said they'd come back (no texts since third week of July as indicated), I have not received a penny despite being told I'd get reimbursed some money, and their work caused $2000 in subsequent damage to my bathroom plumbing that I had to fix. Even the plumbers were baffled by the quality of the work. I will settle this matter for a refund of $4000. If this is not accepted, I will have no choice but to pursue it further in court.

This is not true. The business has both my cell and home numbers, as well as my son's cell number, and they are not blocked on any of them.

    DO NOT HIRE!!
Drews Remodeling was contacted to finish a bathroom in my home. He was to install a new shower, which was already purchased, install a vanity, already purchased and rip out a vanity mirror and install a new one, already purchased. Luckily the mirror orchard did not fit as he was just going to cove up hot electrical wires behind it not capped or secured. He could have burned my house down!! He was to install plumbing, flooring, trim and repaint the walls and such. He was to install new pex plumbing also.
This was the most terrible bathroom remodel I've ever witnessed. It looked like a DIY job done by someone with no experience, not even a clue. He lied and told me the pex wasn't code and couldn't be done. I inquire with the village and found that to be not true. The trim looks like it was done by a child. The shower pan and walls were not installed correctly or finished properly. The vanity was not installed correctly, did not put a backer board on it either. The flooring was pieced in at spots. The plumbing was done incorrectly, leaking all over. Total garbage. Do not hire, do not go by any nice pictures posted to his ******** page. You'll never know what you'll get. I've asked for a refund as I've had to re gut the whole bathroom and have a new contractor come in to do it correctly. The new contractor was disgusted (his words) by the job drews Remodeling has done. Told me it would be more work to correct the issues rather just start over. Drews Remodeling says he'll reimburse me but has not paid back anything. He's also stopped contacting me to talk about reimbursement. I will be taking him to court.
DO NOT HIRE no matter the job.

Called business and this was relayed:I'm very aware of the complaint.  It is unfortunate that I came across some financial issues, however, I will be paying the consumer back.  I realize a debt is a debt.  I have texted the consumer and advised them that I am willing to pay weekly until the debt is paid.  I have not heard back from the consumer.  I have every intention to resolve the issue.

The business has not offered to make any weekly payments. The business has not offered to make any payments at all in general. The business has told me of their personnel and financial problems but has not offered any solution other than stating that they'll "pay me back". No payment plan has been suggested on their part. I offered in the beginning for the business to reimburse me on a weekly schedule to rich they responded that they "didn't want to nickel and dime me". Since then I have requested payments to which I've been told the business has no money to pay. The business had only continuously told me that they will reimburse me but has not put forth any monies or effort to do so.

The owner of this business did a terrible job dry walling in my home. He was unprofessional, did work that is unacceptable and caused damage to my brand new furniture and appliances by not taping off before doing work. Neighbors complained about his behavior.

BBB spoke to business owner and the following was relayed:

I have already offered to come and make repairs and re-do the job but they do not want me back.  To resolve this, I will reimburse this customer.  I am going to reimburse her $3,300.  I have every intention of making this right, so I will reimburse her via ****** ****** ***** ***-whichever she prefers.  I will pay her back in $500 installments every week until she is fully reimbursed $3,300 in total.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** assuming the business makes the first $500 installment within five days of this message. If there is no payment made in 5 days or weekly thereafter another complaint will be filed. Once the entire amount is paid in full I will also close my case with the attorney generals office.
