Rodick Construction was contracted to put a concrete patio, sidewalk and step in the back of my home. It started May 19, 2023. Concrete was poured the week of May 21. The job did not come out correctly. Adam, the owner and I both agreed that the job was unacceptable. He apologized and agreed that that he would return to remove and replace the faulty concrete patio. Initially, i thought only part of it needed to be replaced, but I after looking at it more closely and being shown additional issues/ defects, the entire patio needs to be removed and replaced. Adam provided me with several different dates over the summer and fall that he was going to attempt to remedy the patio issue. However, he apologetically has cancelled multiple times providing different reasons each time why he could not get the job done ranging from other jobs taking longer to complete, rain, not being able to get concrete or pump truck, his truck was broke, and he had a flat tire on his trailer. On Nov. 5th I texted trying again for solid date to remedy the patio. There was no response for 3 weeks. When I texted him, yet again on 11/27 to convey my concern and disappointment, he finally responded. On 11/29 he texted apologizing for not getting back to me and that he had been busy working, that he would put something in writing about what happened and that he would take responsibility and agree to remedy the patio situation suggesting spring 2024. So, I was willing to work with him and asked him to put specific things in writing re; the patio as it ALL needs to be removed and replaced and pump truck utilized because the driveway did crack and get damaged with the initial "job" and will get damaged again if we do not utilize a pump truck. I requested that patio be replaced by 5/1/24 and that he email me the document by 12/5/2023. As of today, I have not received anything from him. Please keep in mind, It has been over 6 months since the initial "job" and I am very frustrated. He managed to get other jobs completed, but not mine. I was really hoping to remedy this collaboratively and positively, but no response again since 11/29 to the request to put it in writing to remedy. It will cost a great deal more if someone else does the work as it will require excavation and replacement of patio that was not there prior, only grass. I am happy to furnish additional info.
