I recently purchased a phone and upon receiving that phone, the display shut off and would not come back on when restarted nor plugged in. I clicked the language, country, and the display was gone from there. I reached out to the company regarding this and was told I could return the phone for a refund or replacement. I initially opted for a replacement but was then told that because I initiated the return, a replacement was no longer an option. Completely fine, but then I was told I would receive a refund within 48 hours of the phone being received back at the warehouse and being processed. My refund is currently being issued, but I am only receiving half of what was paid as I am being charged a restocking fee that was never mentioned. I communicated with this company from the moment I received the phone and determined the display was not working, throughout the return process, and even after once the package was received at their warehouse. Not once was a restocking fee mentioned.Business Response

The customer return arrived damaged and the camera screen was shattered . This is why a restocking fee was charged,

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Throughout all communication, especially when talking with customer support, there was NEVER a restocking fee mentioned. Regardless how the product arrived back to the company, I was told I would be getting a refund, and a fee was never mentioned.
If there is even a possibility of a restocking fee, why would that be hidden from customers when a return is happening? These are hidden fees that are not shown nor discussed with customers, and if they're not hidden, why weren't they mentioned throughout communication?
Not only that, but the return instructions I received THREE days after the return was started and discussed never mentioned a possibility of a restocking fee either.
The damage the phone supposedly received throughout the shipment was never brought to my attention either until I reached out regarding this fee. Absolutely poor communication from the company and I do not accept this response as a restocking fee was never discussed, just added on. If this had been brought to my attention prior, there would be no issue. However, I was made to believe I would receive a full refund, please see the communication from your customer service support, as a restocking fee wasn't mentioned.
In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
****** ******

I purchased a phone from *********** via ****** on August 17, 2024, for $272.24. Unfortunately, on March 3, 2025, the phone stopped connecting to my carriers network, making it impossible to make calls or access the internet. After extensive troubleshooting, I discovered that the **** number of the phone was blacklisted, meaning it had been reported lost or stolen.Upon realizing this issue, I promptly reached out to the company to request a return/refund. However, I was informed that because the purchase was beyond the 90-day period, my request could not be accommodated. While I understand your policy, I believe that selling a device that later turns out to be blacklisted is a serious issue, and as a customer, I should not bear the financial loss for a phone that was compromised from the start.I respectfully request a refund of half the purchase price, totaling $136.12, as a fair resolution to this matter. I believe this is a reasonable request given the circumstances, and I hope Chubbietech values customer satisfaction enough to address this issue appropriately.Business Response

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# ********, and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved
I am writing to formally address an unresolved issue regarding a refurbished phone I purchased from the company Chubbietech through ******. Despite your previous response stating that there was no unpaid balance on the phone, that was not the issue. The actual issue is that the phone was reported lost or stolen, leading to it being blacklisted by either the original owners provider or the manufacturer.
I purchased this phone in good faith for $200, expecting a fully functional device. However, within months, it was rendered completely useless due to its blacklisted status. I provided clear proof of the blacklisting when I initially filed my complaint, yet I received no offer for a replacement, refund, or even a partial resolution. Instead, your response was dismissive, which I find unacceptable.
As a consumer, I have the right to receive a product that is legally and functionally usable. Selling a blacklisted phone without disclosure is misleading and, in many cases, a violation of consumer protection laws. I am requesting one of the following resolutions:
1. A partial refund of $100, or
2. A replacement phone of equal value and condition that is not blacklisted. In order for the BBB to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
****** *******

Purchased a watch in July. Watch battery was WAY below specifications agreed upon when purchased (condition on invoice shows NEW). Returned watch to them when we discovered the issue (watch wasn't holding a charge for long). They issued *** and provided a return label. Now they have the watch and REFUSE to return $160 I paid them originally... stating that it is outside the warranty period. This is fraud and theft.Business Response

I attached information from the Amazon return and the message between the customer and customer service.

The customer open the request after 90 days. I attached the proof of purchase and request date confirming the request was made on day 98th of the customer having their watch in their possession.
Also in the email I have the ****** renewed warranty policy confirming the 90 day warranty.

Purchased a ******* Galaxy Note 20 Ultra Renewed from them on Amazon for $373 total. The description said very light blemishes. The phone came with a crack across the camera, heavy scratches on screen, and lots of scratches on back. Sent the seller photos and described my issue. Seller approved a return so i sent the item back via **** They received the item back on November 29th. A week after they get the item (December 5th), they send me a message saying they won't be issuing a refund because they got the item back with heavy and accidental damage, which was not the case. I even asked them to send me a video of the phone to show the condition they are claiming and to make sure the **** is visible in the video so they can prove their claim. Of course they never did - why? Because they're trying to scam as many people as they can. I looked through their ****** reviews, and they did the same thing to so many other people.Business Response

I purchased a phone on Amazon from Chubbiestech. My billing and shipping info was put in wrong and the phone was shipped to the wrong address. I went and asked the home owners/people occupying the residence it was shipped to and they had no recollection of receiving any packages. So I went and asked a few others in the area and nobody had seen a delivery truck but most were working they said. So after not getting my phone I ordered I asked for a refund because I didn't want to be stuck paying $300.00 for a phone I never got. Chubbiestech replied to contact the courier, the address to which it was shipped and neighbors which I had already done. I informed them of this and they replied saying that the order was delivered to the correct address which it was not delivered to the correct address because the shipping and billing address were mixed up and it was shipped to an old address of mine. They informed me they would not refund me my money. I have contacted them again and again and not getting any response now so I'm reaching out for more help. It seems upon looking at the reviews this store is not very credible having a 1 of five Starr rating.Business Response
