1 starI phoned in and ordered a new garage door opener and installation for $600. The sons installed the opener and after installation wanted a total price of $745. When I objected they said this opener had more features than the one I had ordered. I said I didn't need them. They wanted to reschedule for the next week to get the less expensive opener. I ask them to go get the correct opener then. We were less than ten minutes from their office. They wouldn't. I feel this was a classic "Bait and Switch" scenario. I hope it has nothing to do with my age (77Years old). After they left I was afraid what they would install something inferior as returning a meal at a restaurant you don't know what you are getting back. The next week I insisted on talking to George and he called me back after the office told me he was off and no way to contact him. I told him my feelings and told him if he split the difference (I offered $75) , or I would have another company take it out and I would return it to him. He told me no, he would *** me and his wife was a lawyer. I only got intimidation from him all the employees never "I'm sorry for the switch". I paid the full amount because the opener does work well and hope I never need warranty (if there is any) because the office lady, I believe the one that took the initial order, told me she would never schedule anything for me again because of the way I was actioning in their office insisting on talking to George with my problem..

We certainly don't like having an upset customer but this was absolutely no bait and switch but a misunderstanding. After the opener was installed, you said you didn't want that one but the one that was the middle option. You wanted the techs to go and get that opener and install it that same day. As there were other customers scheduled that day, we could not accommodate that no matter how close in proximity you were to our office. You then came into our office and proceeded to yell at our staff and I was notified you wanted to speak with me. I called you and you told me you would keep the opener that was installed but wanted to pay the lower price or receive a substantial discount or you would have another door company (who you said quoted you a higher price) to come out and that you would throw our opener outside and we would need to pick it up. This was upsetting and said so you are not going to allow us to make it right by changing the opener to the one you say you want? You then agreed and scheduled the installation and I showed up as you requested. However, instead of installing it, you handed us a check for the $745 as you were going to keep the opener that was installed. 5 starsOut tech was very good and repaired the damage to the garage door and rails and to the wires that a tenant did. They have always done a very good job in installing our garage door openers and making sure that the openers are working the right way. Also, making sure the doors work just the way they are suppose to open and close. They are very good and reasonable.George & Sons Garage Doors

2 starsThis is the fifth set of garage doors I've had installed by George and Sons. In general they've done a good job, except for their payment policy. They want to be paid at the exact instant that they finish the job. The workers were aggressive about collecting the payment from the manager at my business. I pay from invoices not demands from workers. Then, I got a phone call that day from their office asking me for the payment. It was just too aggressive and boarded on extremely rude. I've paid for all of the other jobs on time and this was insulting. Maybe I'll look for another garage door company.George & Sons Garage Doors

Glad to hear that weve done a good job when it comes to installing the garage doors. Our terms are COD and terms on quote and invoice include that the customer agrees to pay all amounts when due. We advise our technicians to collect when they are finished with the job and email the invoice. If payment is not received, our office will contact the customer to collect. I spoke with you and apologized that you feel trying to collect when payment is due is being too aggressive or rude. You are fortunate in your business that you dont have to worry about this since customers must pay before they receive your services. You also said you sent a check thank you we received it today.Review fromClark H

1 starI wish my review could be like others and be happy with the doors. George & Sons worked hard to earn my business but as soon as the install in finished (which it wasn't), that's were their customer service ends. A few months after the install one of the glass doors cracked from a manufacturing defect. I called and they came out for an inspection, measured, then left and said they would call when the glass was ready...that was ***** I had to check in monthly to see what the status was. In August they received the glass with the usual supply chain excuse but then told me I had to call someone else to schedule. They claim they had the wrong number written down (on my account) and never called for the repair. I tracked them down several times asking when this would be installed but came up against a VERY RUDE woman in the front office more than once. I talked to Mr. ********************** and he personally put me on the schedule but failed to show up or call. When I asked if they were still coming the same person in the front office was extremely out of line accusing me of making up my schedule and who I talked to. Today they show up and admit they ordered the wrong glass. The two guys were not very friendly and said they would order glass and be back in a couple months. This is the worst company in Reno! Save your money or better yet it would be worth the few extra dollars to go somewhere else! I will never call them again but make sure I tell everyone NOT to order your garage doors from George & Sons.George & Sons Garage Doors

Im sorry youve had a bad experience with our company. 11 months after your door was installed you notified us you had a broken piece of glass. I personally came out, took pictures and sent it off to the manufacturer. We received your glass, and left a message to call us to get it changed out. You called and informed us you never received the call. When we came out on October 21 we found out the manufacturer sent the wrong glass. We do our best to take care of all our customers. And by our many reviews, we have met our goal. When your glass comes in, I will personally call you. And if you have the urge to cuss someone out, call me. My office and techs are doing their best and dont deserve to be treated in that manner.Review fromMorris K

5 starsthey guys were great...the were efficient and knowledgeable about what the job required and have a great sense of humor which made the time go pleasantly...who thought that a garage door seal installation could be fun.......i would def use the company again...George & Sons Garage Doors

5 starsIt was quite refreshing to have a tech come out and fix the broken part that connected the opener to the door itself and not get taken advantage of on price. The new bracket is extra heavy duty and he tightened the spring and serviced the door to help it from happening again.George & Sons Garage Doors

5 stars****** honestly assessed our needs and completed his work in a short time. He said the springs on our other doors didn't need to be replaced. In addition, he checked and adjusted another garage door opener without charge. We paid exactly what was quoted over the phone.George & Sons Garage Doors
