    I bought a car from ****** and ******** on July 13th, 2024 they sold me the vehicle it was not smogged they told me to keep coming back to check it, I had to get it fixed a day after buying it ($2700) ****** stole my car from my apt on Aug 16th, 2024 had to call the police on him he lied and said he was in ******* and I did not owe no late payments and had to get a 30 day moving permit because it still have not been smogged he is known by the authorities( police) for scamming people out there money and I had to put a protection order on him.. For harassment and for threatening me. STAY AWAY FROM HIM Do Not BUY A CAR FROM THEM ALL THERE CARS ARE LEMONS AND HE IS VERY VIOLENT WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY!!!

    I purchased this car though a loan with my bank (America First) for ********* and a down payment of ******** on Saturday April,27,2024 around 1:00pm. Around 7:00pm the car check engine light turned on, I took the car to auto zone which resulted with the issue of "catalytic converter" the dealer closed at 6:00pm therefor there was no way of me contacting them over the weekend. On Sunday May 28,2024 around 8:30pm the car began to pull, almost to the point it would want to turn off. I drove the car again the same night around 10:00pm, and 3 minutes into driving the car completely turn off and would not turn on for the next 5 to 7 minutes. I was now stuck in the middle of the road AT NIGHT by myself, as a female that is extremely scary and horrible to go through. I took the car back to the dealer Monday April29,2024 around 2:00pm they stated they would take a look at it and call me back for updates, I never got a call back, I saw it was getting close to their closing time so I CALLED them at 5:37pm to find out they still had NO UPDATES. On April30,2024 I went to the dealer asking to get my money back, exchange or anything to benefit me for their lies. They said they would keep the car and fix it. They now kept the car one week, and returned it back May 07, 2024 stating By the owner that "there was just a leak and he had resolved the issue and even replaced the part of leakage". I took the car May 07,2024 around 12:30 pm and AGAIN at 8:01 pm the check engine light turned on. They're not willing to return my money, exchange, and clearly not fix the issue. I am now stuck with a with a loan I still have to pay back of ****** + ******* of my down payment, a none reliable car with the permit that expires on May 27,2024 that I'm not even sure I should get register to drive as it is not reliable or safe for me and other drives to be around.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    I did not refuse to take the car.  I was very vocal about what the car needed, I even took the car to a different mechanic to get a second choice. The dealer stated  Bring it when you have time to check, we need like 30 min **** At that point I felt like the dealer was not taking me serious nor the situation as we all know it does not take 30 min *** to fix a mechanical issue. I work everyday and can not afford to loose money just to continuously be lied to while they probably might just clear the codes for me to drive off.The car was continuously stoping on me in the middle of the road. I felt unsafe for me to be driving a car like that and for traffic surrounding me.

    I am rejecting this response because:

    I did take the car to the business and the same issue occurred. Therefor how many times would I have to go back and forth to them? I cant even drive the car without being stranded, how was I supposed to drive to them? Including their reviews online state that a lot of their cars have mechanical issues with catalytic converters which is the same thing as mine. I definitely should've check that before hand and that was my mistake this dealership is a fraud.

    If a car is having catalytic converter issues it wont be able to pass emission tests and we do have it done so thats not the issue .

    I am rejecting this response because:

    If a car passed emission tests it does not always mean all codes are good but meaning they are cleared out. If the car was any good with no catalytic converter issues or ANY ISSUES AT ALL the car check engine wouldn't have turned on 3 hours into me having it, it also wouldn't have turned off in the middle of the road on the second day I had it ,And we wouldn't be in this situation. A car was sold with a mechanical issue and codes were cleared out before being sold and that's all, own up to the mistake.

    Its impossible that a car can pass smog with clearing codes . Like I said before the customer was offered to bring the car but didnt so at this point this whole conversation is pointless.

    I purchased a ****** altima on March 21 on April 7th the transmission went out. Within the contract paperwork is a inspection report where they marked the drivetran aka transmission as satisfactory no issues. However upon me receiving it in fact has issues and is defective. They provided a 3 month warranty that caps at $1500. The cost to repair $4500..I paid $9753 for the vehicle. They are unwilling to assist in any repairs of the vehicle. They basically took $9700 from me for a lemon car. The car is currently inoperable and I barely I had it 3 weeks. Their warranty company may not cover 100% of the $1500 that is pending. The car is currently in the shop at my expense.

    The warranty has not confirmed they will cover the repairs of the transmission they only inspected the vehicle and said they  cap at $1500 but never authorized repairs and left ******** with no follow-up.  At this time that car is being repaired at my expense.  I was not offered additional coverage.  It was a young lady that transacted the sale at the time no manager nor owner was there. She said they provide 3 month warranty on all cash purchases. Nothing else was offered.  This dealership knowingly sold a car with a drive **** issue and marked passing on the inspection report(see attachment provided)Why did they mark ************ on the drivetran portion of the inspect report? When my mechanic looked at the transmission it was clear to him it needed replacing when he inspect it with out taking it a part how did Desert Auto miss this??? And still sale the car @$9700??

    The warranty is with a third party company! We do pay for every car for 3 months warranty and we dont make money with that company, however if the customer chooses to upgrade to higher plan we get bonuses , so we always ask the customer if they would like to upgrade the plan. The young girl even gave the customer the brochure with the different protection plans! Few days after the purchase, the customer came back and even said that got her own vehicle inspection from ****** dealership and everything was ok.

    This dealership is refusing to take accountability for selling a bad car that only last me 3 weeks. Point taken, anyone who choose to do business with this company needs to take heed, they sale lemon cars and provide cheap car warranty to cash paid cars, that barely covers the cost of repairs. Ultimately the warranty company only covered 30% of repairs, i am left holding a $3000 bill due on a car that i paid $9700 for, and no apologies or accountability on behalf of this company ever taken, as seen publicly in their responses to me in this thread.  Their only defense is we gave you a cheap warranty company be happy nothing else we can do. Note, there are several bad reviews on Yelp regarding this dealership, I am definitely not the only one.  Thanks

    Was told we could only put in an offer on a vehicle after they run my credit. They ran my credit, refused a deposit to hold the car, and sold the car before I could make an offer. The credit report they ran hit my credit and deducted it 20 points. Taking my credit from 742 to 721. Now I am stuck without a vehicle, and a lower credit score to try and buy another vehicle. They were unprofessional and very pushy. Seemed sketchy and only cared about running my credit. Now I either have to buy from them (which they said if the car sells before my application goes through is the best option) or take my lower score to someone else. This is backwards. Any other place will accept an offer then follow through with the financing.

    The only way we can run the credit is if the potential customer send us Their application with acknowledgement and agreement to run their credit . We dont take deposits  because they are not refundable and if the customer does not have approval can end up loosing the deposit.

    I am rejecting this response because: I could have easily put a deposit down on the car, I knew I would be approved. Yes, I could have lost out on money if not approved, but again, I knew I would be. Your staff told us no to putting down a deposit.  I work very hard to keep my credit in good standing. Yes, I gave you permission to run my credit, but after that your place or business did nothing but hurt my credit, that I have been building up for years. A deduction of 20 points to run my credit and a few hours later you sell the car, without a courtesy phone call at that. You now have not only paused my car search for over 48 hours, you have hurt my chances of loaning a car with somewhere else, and increasing my monthly payments because an unnecessary way of financing.
