  The BBB has received correspondence from the company, Excitement Ventures, LLC dated March 26, 2005 and received by the BBB April 26, 2005 that states:
  
  "Over the last week or so we have received numerous phone calls that are extremely upsetting. Because of the seriousness of these calls, I wanted to advise the Consumer Affairs Division of the situation.
  
  As you may know, we offer incentive programs and sweepstakes information reports through the mail. We do not do any telemarketing nor do we ask for phone numbers or credit cards.
  
  Unfortunately, it appears from my conversations with the people that have received my mail offer that someone is phoning them, that someone is using our name while attempting to collect large sums of money. They are telling these individuals that they have won some form of lottery and that they won it from Access Financial Group a d/b/a of Excitement Ventures. From what I understand they have been called up to 30 times over this past weekend. They were informed to wire transfer large sums of money to an unidentified place in Canada. They are also giving out our phone number after our business hours, I'm assuming so that we do not answer the phone. They are telling them that wee are in charge of this lottery and if they have any questions to call us. The people that have called us are so irate that they have not received these monies. We will continue to try and get as much information out of these people who most likely will continue to call us so that we can better help you look into this matter.
  
  As you can see, it is a poor attempt at pulling a scam, however the problems it will cause to my business are potentially immeasurable.
  
  I have contacted the Metro Fraud Unit and they referred me to someone in your office. I wanted your office to be aware of what is happening and that Excitement Ventures, LLC is not involved and we look forward to assisting you with this matter."
