  It has been brought to the BBBs attention that consumers are receiving offers through postal mail about winning a large amount of prize money. The individuals making the offers sometimes claim to be either in the US or from overseas.
  
  The correspondence generally says that you have been identified as a winner or approved for a lump sum payment of prize money. The prize money then, is offered to the individual. In exchange, they must open a trust account at a bank called Barclay Trust of Europe so the funds can be deposited. Allegedly the companies corresponding bank is Barclay Trust of Europe.
  
  Once a recipient provides personal and/or financial account information, repeated and unexpected transactions can happen, such as, withdrawing money from and making charges to their accounts. The BBB urges consumers never to provide personal information to unknown persons.
  
  KNOW THIS: IF A STRANGER WANTS TO DEPOSIT MILLIONS OR EVEN THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS INTO YOUR BANK ACCOUNT, IT IS ALMOST CERTAINLY A FRAUDULENT COMPANY.
  
  The BBB urges consumers to be cautious when dealing with companies which offer prize money or sweepstake winnings. Consumers should ignore all mail, e-mail, and telephone solicitations for such promotions. Moreover, never give out your credit card or bank account information.
