I went to a web site to question a charge on my credit card and was directed to the howly website thinking I was talking to the company. After some back and forth they said they could provide me with the company phone number which I called and resolved the issue. Then I get an email saying Ive been charged $55 for a month of advice and would be charged $56 a month until I cancelled the agreement. I called the howly number and cancelled but Im still out my $55. There practices are very deceptive.Business Response

Since June of 2023, I have been getting charged $74/month by Howly. This is absolutely fraudulent. I never signed up for this group. I am a senior citizen. I tried to go to their website and it doesn't work and there is no way to actually contact anyone. This is absolutely a scam. I was using my boyfriends phone & got redirected to this site by Lyft site on December 23, *********************************************************************************** a Lyft car and couldnt log into my Lyft account without my phone. I thought this was Lyfts way of helping me and this site said it would only charge me ONE dollar for a trial period of 7 days. The very next day, 12/24/2023, they charged me $55 and they did not refund me and I never even used their service. I quickly realized after paying the $1 this site was not what I needed & could not help. I think it was just a pop up. Its a SCAM!!!!! I uploaded the transaction on my card (obv it is date it posted to my account), the day I called Howly to ask why they charged me $55 & asked for a refund, and a s fee shot of their own policy stating if I call within 7 days to cancel I wont be charged the subscription membership.Business Response

On January 26, **** charges appeared on my credit card from the company HOWLY. 2 charges were made $1.00 and anorher for $69.00.These are fraudulent and unauthorized charges. The problem is that HOWLY has protected themselves by being a registered PAYPAL account and therefore disputes and reports of fraud are.complicated and difficult. I was chatting with Amazon about a customer service issue 1/10/24 and they connected me to Howly. We discussed the case and he gave me Amazon's customer service number, I called and the issue was resolved. I was told that I would be charged $1 and that it would be refunded. When I checked my bank statement I discovered I had been charged $55 that day, 1/10/24, and another $1 on following day 1/11/24. I don't know why I was charged $55 and want it and the $1 both refunded back to my bank account immediately please and any future charges that I didn't signup for stopped! I just got tricked into paying for a service just now on 24 Jan, **** I searched uber support and clicked onto the link which says uber support. It told me to pay 1 usd on Howly to get my answers. It was 1 dollar. I got connected to a person on chat who told me that they are not affiliated with uber. I then received a 55 usd receipt from Howly.com Under no circumstances was I informed that I need to pay 55usd. It is totally a scam.
