The dentist was unable to fit a denture after a mold being made and two attempts in their office the tooth did not fit.The receptionist said the money $425.00 could not be returned to the three credit cards that I paid them. I paid by credit debit cards and have never heard that the refund cannot be returned to my cards. Ive not heard from them from October 19, 2023 regarding my refund. I have called two times and get a run around. Such as, no one is there to help me.Business Response

On 9/14/23 received bill from Absolute Dental, ******************* for $138.00. This bill is the first I received for this amount. It was from a dental visit for my wife who was suffering from tooth ache. I have Humana Dental Insurance under the FEDVIP policy. This I found out is a policy that some Dentist do no honor (Previously had same problem with Summer Dental) so when I called and made appointment, I provided all the Humana information and asked if we were covered under the FEDVIP program and they said they would check. We arrived for appointment and filled out information, providing the Humana card along with requested IDs and again they said we were covered and we had the new patient xrays and exam completed. They scheduled the work to be done on the 19th of July. When we arrived at the office on the 19th, they informed us that this work was "Put of Network" meaning it was not covered.. We cancelled and left. I subsequently contacted Humana and was able to find an office which my wife's dental work as accomplished. My complaint is that I believe that I should not be liable for the $138.00 charge since I made explicit efforts to confirm we were covered and it was their mistake. I have mad two attempts to contact their office and have been unsuccessful in talking with anyone concerning this. Attached is the original complaint I attempted to file with the BBB, Grievance Letter filed with Humana and bill with notes concerning earlier efforts to rectify this problemBusiness Response

I went in May to get tooth pulled. Was told it's in my sinuses and would need oral surgery and it would cost $197. They wanted me to get a credit card from them to pay. Told them I have bad credit and they said there was a higher rate credit card I could apply for. I said no. They did prescribe antibiotics that I just told them I'm allergic to. September I finally raised the $197. I called to schedule the surgery and now told $135 for consultation and another $270 for surgery. I've been walking around feeling like I've been punched in the face for 6 months. Why didn't they tell me the truth of the cost back in May so I could go somewhere else for treatment and why didn't they send an order for different antibiotics after I called back office to tell them I was allergic to the ones they prescribed.Initial Complaint

I just unexpectedly received a bill from Absolute Dental for the amount of $50.80, claiming that I missed one of my appointments. I have been falsely charged by dental services before so I take this matter very seriously. I had a schedule appointment on August 28 at 8:30 for a routine cleaning which Ive called in to Cancel my appointment on 8/25/2023 and during that conversation I was never told they will be applying a late fee which I received.Business Response

Before removing all of my top front teeth, absolute dental stated ******** covered not just the tooth removal but the partial dentures as well. I was told also, that I could do a payment arrangement for what wasn't covered. During the operation, they gave me some kind of medicinal cocktail that made me extremely sick and had me violent when coming out of the anesthesia. After 20+ surgeries due to my cleft - that has never happened. It wasn't until after my teeth were pulled I was told on the phone when making my appointment for the denture mold I wouldn't be able to do so until getting a cleaning and cavities filled. I told them that ******** already covered it so I need that done and I'll come back for the rest. They said that was fine. Then during the appointment for the mold they refused treatment until I could pay $700 out of pocket for the cleaning. Turns out they don't accept payment plans - just care credit. Fairly certain most people who have ******** won't qualify for that! Then the woman at the desk then tried to have me give her someone ELSES information to qualify for the credit. After them refusing to service me OR reimburse me for gas for the 30+ miles of travel, I contacted my insurance, they informed me Absolute Dental never even sent a pre-authorization for any of the services! Now I am toothless, not able to eat, and *** to my mental condition the longer I go without dentures the entire top of my mouth can collapse in which case would cause multiple more surgeries and if that is the case I will be suing this company. Please help before it gets to that.Business Response

On 09/11/23 *************************** was scheduled at the office for final impressions of her partial denture. During that visit she was reminded partial denture could not be delivered until her cleaning and fillings were completed. ********** offered 2 different payment options we offer and both were denied. ******* became extremely escalated and began screaming and using profanity. ******* then pushed all denture cases for other patients off the counter and onto the office manager and the floor. When ******* entered her vehicle to leave she threw a full glass bottle at our building. Due to this behavior ******* has been formally dismissed from all Absolute Dental offices. I am rejecting this response because:There was mal practice before I became agitated. Yes I used profanity but they pulled my teeth before getting any preautherization done which is why no impressions were done. This was a scam on top of another scam and my choices are to now pay out of pocket for dentures or let the room of my mouth concave. It was DUE TO Absolute Dentals malpractice I became agitated. I had the right to tell them exactly how they scammed me and I have MULTIPLE other people telling me they've done similar things to them and WILL back me in a lawsuit. I was never a danger to anyone or their customers, they just refuse to take accountability. I was not the only one becoming agitated and using profanity but no one wants to talk about how awful THEY treated ME.

The date of the transaction is 06/08/2023. I was over charged using my health spending account from work for a dental cleaning. The receipt I have attached shows that I am to be credited ****** I currently am an employee for Los Angeles County. My health spending account **** card is now being threatened to be suspended due to the over payment of ***** which they are refusing to answer any of my calls to refund my account. I am livid because it was due to their incompetence and ignoring the fact that my son had coverage for services rendered through his insurance and my health spending account covered the charges only what wasn't under the insurance. I have called numerous times to speak with someone at this location and they have lied to me saying someone by the name of **** would call me back which she hasn't. I contacted their corporate office only to be told they couldn't help me either. I was told that I would by ******* whom I spoke with that the regional manager *************************** would be one I could take the matter up with. When asked for a direct number they she disclosed she could not give me the number. I find that this company is fraudulent. Why is it so difficult to get this issue resolved? Also, they claim to have a number to speak with the billing department, but when I do call the number given ************ and press 5 or 6 for the billing option, they are invalid selections. I only get the call center and I am given to someone who informs me they can transfer me but I either get disconnected or I am given some answering service with no name. I am frustrated with this service, and want my money refunded to my account.Business Response

I was seen on 1/28/2023 for my schedule to have a cleaning done. Instead after an x-ray, they said I needed dentures on my lower gums I did not even asked them to do so. The doctor who looked at my mouth saw it for 15 seconds, The billing person named **** came and asked for Insurance, I told him I have 2 and I work with one of them. He said he will talk to his manager, came back and said he will bill my Humana first because I had that for years. Then he came back and asked me for a down payment (receipt attached) since I agreed to have the the dentures done. I asked him how long will it be done, he said 2 weeks. They then started to measure my lower mouth. The clinic does not have any sink, to gargle, no bib to place around my neck for the water drop, did not even gave me water to gargle, and did not ask me to wipe my mouth after, I asked for a tissue and the aide gave me a paper towel. All they said was come back next week after measuring to be measured again. Week passed I came back again no tissues the same dirty place, no sink to gargle and was told that I have to come back another two or three more times for the dentures to get fit again I did not come back that was one month and a half already, did not come back anymore and they started billing my insurance *************care showing I have the dentures and was given to me. My second insurance Humana got billed first but was asked the clinic to send in the Explanation of benefits from my ****************** I called my employer to complain the clinic, and request for the clinic to rebill my work insurance, up to this point has not billed for it. I went to the office that had an opening to be seen right away, for a tooth issue that on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 20 and pain, including the jaw. I advised what tooth it was. We did a full x-ray, this office I had to pay before they even got near me with an x-ray.Once I did the x-ray, they automatically said oh root canal and crown etc. etc. The moment I said, as a self-pay, limited income, as Im not working, recovering from my ORIF surgery, I need just to have a tooth extracted.I was automatically advice. Oh, I cant dI was automatically advise. Oh, I cant do that here, youve got to go to a surgeon. Which could be days weeks months before you can get seen, more than 100 and $200 for the tooth. I told them on the phone, possibly the insurance I may have I couldnt get out of them to confirm the coverage was still in affect, but I have their plan they gives me a self-pay discount for my services.I also advised the issue, and that the tooth would need to be extracted. Never was I advised youre going to come and spend money be in pain and not have it removed. If you didnt do a root canal and a crown, which is thousands of dollars which I dont have, then we arent gonna be able to help you. Were just a dentist office. Why would we want to help me with a tooth problem.I dont know why these people are in business, and I need to file a formal complaint with you guys.Business Response

Complaint: 20446047
I am rejecting this response because: outside of the fact that that is straight up lies. When they learned, I was a self-pay as we were not sure if my insurance was in effect or not and they couldnt get a hold of them. They said to do the x-rays which will be a full set is $30 because Im on the discount program that they have.
This documentation that they sent here was not what was provided for me. They gave me a slip that said #** removed. They gave me a screen print of the x-ray. They gave me a piece of paper that said a referral to a surgeon to pull out a tooth.
They did not tell me that they even had a person in the office that would be able to remove the tooth, even if it would be a couple days, because I asked them you dont have anybody in the office I can remove a tooth. Youre a dentist.
They gave me a name and the number for a place that is by Uber since I cant drive to do the broken arm $50 each way. By the way, nobody has answered those phone numbers that was on that piece of paper at all.
I called the other office where I have normally gone to before, Im still waiting for a supervisor to call me back regarding this mess. Its only been three days so it may take a moment.
There is nothing wrong with the truth. Other than there is a slight protest missing due to get us infected before the faction goes into the blood which will kill me. I asked them I need it removed. They did not state again, repeating did they were somebody there in the office cause I wouldve gone home and sucked down a bunch of Orajel and ibuprofen so that I could handle the pain as much as I can until I can get this taken care of.
I have 67 teeth on the bottom, is the one on the far right hand side that needed to be removed, even if its the one next to it as well. I advise I could do that. To resolve this issue Im trying to resolve it before. It gets so infected that it goes into my bloodstream, which, by the way a blood infection from your truth there is no treatment for this you die.
They are aware of this matter, I advise them it from what I can see it looked infected cut the gums swollen a little bit on the side. No one offered any sort of prescription for either a pain medicine to help me get through two days and then come back for the tooth to be pulled nor let me give you something for an infection like penicillin, so it doesnt get worse.
I hate liars, game polling. I can guarantee you if I was going to do a root canal with a crown thats thousands of dollars, my issue wouldve been resolved very quickly.
But because I stated I dont have the money for that, we need to then pull it out, extract it. Then, next thing you know, I got a referral to go elsewhere, never was it suggested to me, by the doctor, dentist person who went to school for training for this that there is any other issue, that I would need to come back in a couple days if I wanted extracted.
By the way, its been almost 2 days from that date of me sitting in the chair for two hours before the beast decided to come see me. Before they said, oh for us to do x-rays, you got a pay me now. Cording to the lady that came to do the pictures and take the money stated to do the set to see whats going on with your tooth. You got a pay me $30.
Ive had a full set of x-rays before with that same company, but in a different office.
So these people can give up online, because Im a keep following, and Im going to keep fighting. I am also checking to see if in the *************** they have insurance, commissioners, who else to report this to because I will continue finally reports with whoever I can for this matter.
You pick the wrong person to lie to ****** wrong too.

I am rejecting this response because: yes the lady offered to call the "surgical people", where it could start out as $395 to remove the tooth. supposedly as "fracture, ****** issues). I asked about closer with a dentist that can handle this, stated out 6 weeks for this. easier for them from what I see to send me elsewhere, not care of the cost to get there as I have a broken arm/not able to drive, so funds for UBER, and a expensise service.and not even sure if cost "estimated starting at" was before or after the discount plan.

Its not a great thing to find out that you guys arent able to help out with this company anymore than anybody else.
I am going to actually be more likely making another complaint due to the call to the office and getting the runaround again. This time when I called him to ask regarding a surgeon in a closer office, then this resource referral junk which I cant afford even with my insurance discount plan
What is advised that the one near me their surgeon does not see you unless you have at least three teeth being pulled out. One or two wont get you through the front door.
I asked if they could possibly be open to asking the surgeon would he be able to work with me one or two *** versus half my mouth. The woman was very rude. Nope cant do that. Nope he wont go in lower than three
Nobody should go to these people at least on the main two offices that used to be good now theyve gone downhill

I am rejecting this response because: the only true part of that statement is, if they reached out to the other person thats way out that would cost me a lot of money to get there.I did reach out to my insurance I found out it is still active and supposedly people are in network for that now. But that still does not alleviate the cost for the rides to and from.
I actually called in to the ******** office to ask them regarding if they have any appointments since I was advised, only did p****** etc
The same person I talk to previously is who I talk to you I guess again, but I was advised that the oral surgeon, the one that is in that office will only see people to extract not a tooth, but minimum three.
I asked him could they please ask the surgeon if he would be open to doing one at the most to so that I could get them to be seen as they were only right down the street six dollars each way.
I was advised no, would not send a message to the surgeon, no, they wont do less than three. So how do you know they wont do less than three, if you dont ask, him would they be open to an exception.
I give up with these people, as well as this location, because so far neither one of you are there for people like you say you are.
Im going to see what I can do about filing a more formal legal complaint against that group as well as see if there is any other dentists in this lovely *************** that actually are there for the patient
Can you definitely are not either one of you
I am totally disappointed, surprise on the lack of customer service, surprise on everything from both sides

I was first there in February they kept telling me to come back and forth for nothing. I was there for dental surgery and when I was about to finally get the surgery the surgeon stopped everything because my heart was beating too fast for them. I have since gotten clearance from my cardiologist. I waited for about a month for the dentist to contact me for surgery. They never did. So I called them and 2 weeks before the date of August 4 which was the assigned surgery date. I was making sure because of the games absolute dental plays. It took me over a week to talk to anybody because they kept hanging up on me. For no reason. But finally I was told that the appointment I was told was never scheduled and that supposedly had an appointment for September 2. They never called me or emailed me. No contact whatsoever. But now sadly I can't hardly eat because of my teeth and the pain. They don't care. They are treating me this way because I have medicad yo pay the services or because I am transgender. There is no other explanation.Business Response
