Services completed on May 14th, and vehicle was picked up on May 15th. ********* auto repair financing practices. Business communicated to me unreliable and incomplete information about the terms of the finance plan when provided to me. Did not disclose the terms of the loan, the interest rate, and did not disclose to me the monthly payments after the first three months until after approval and background check. Only handed the written terms of the loan after the fact, and did not communicate to me which company I would be handing the monies for the finance plan to. This potentially harmed my credit, and other customers.Business Response

The finance company loan details, loan agreement and repayment guidelines are emailed directly to the customer. The customer is provided all the information prior to signing the loan. Several emails and texts messages are sent regarding from the finance company, so the customer is fully aware of the financial obligation of the loan. We were certain that these materials were received.

On 09/11/2024 I took my vehicle in for the sole purpose to get help having my vehicle pass the smog check. The business stated they could run a diagnostic on the truck. After running the diagnostic they said a new *** was needed in order for it to pass the smog. They stated they could order the **** run the truck, and also do the smog there to guarantee a pass. Full payment was due because all this would be done in 5 days they stated. I paid a grand total of $1,899.98 fees. Finally after 23 days on 10/04/2024 I received a call to pick up the vehicle even though the smog didnt pass. They said I could bring it back 10/05/2024 in the morning so they can run it again throughout the day and the codes could link to the new *** to ensure a pass on the smog. I received a call later that afternoon that the vehicle was ready for pickup even though it did NOT pass the smog. They then told me I had to drive it myself for at least 100 miles to ensure it will pass the smog and could bring it back 10/07 or 10/08 so they can perform the smog. I was upset and wanted to leave the vehicle there until the job was done but they wanted to charge additional fees. After driving it throughout the weekend I took it back 10/07/2024 after the 100 miles were driven like they said and the smog test FAILED AGAIN. I asked for my money in return since the main thing I requested was NOT DONE. I spoke to the supervisor and he declined. I let them know they can also take the *** out since this clearly wasnt the issue so I can get my money back but they also stated no. My main argument is that I want my money back. The service was not complete and in their own contract it stated that payment is due upon PICKUP of the vehicle not before this was done. I was 23 days without my vehicle and the intital mileage compared to now is enough for the vehicle to pass so problem was not solved. This vehicle is 20 years old and have not been properly maintained over the years. The vehicle arrived ******* coolant and overheating. That was the initial concern, to stop the vehicle from causing any more damage to other components. Once the overheating was resolved it was discovered that the transmission needed to be replaced. Review of the ****** history repair tells a story of severe neglect to basic car care needs and general Maintenace. Having an SUV requires a certain level of care. Fluid services and timely repairs. Not addressing leaks and wear and rear needs only affects other part components. There were no records that the transmission fluid has even been changed every 30k miles as recommended by the manufacturer. We are not surprised at the condition of the vehicle. It has over ******* miles driven and needs a lot of ***. USA Auto Service is not responsible for ant damages or future repairs on the vehicle. The customer has not taken care of the vehicle under the hood and often time we cannot control when certain parts decide to fail on a vehicle especially when it is being worn down daily.Customer Answer

I did business with this company and they said my timing was off and vvt solenoid. Which was causing my engine light ignition. I paid them *****. They had me pick up my car. 5 mins into the drive the light is back on same codes p0016 p0017. I revised this business on multiple occasions for the same issue. I was unable to smog my car , I ended up having to get a smog waiver with DMV in order to smog my car. The first week of which I had the work done *** a mechanic and ***** the receptionist insisted those were my issues and they should reorder the timing chain kit and solenoids and use my warranty. In the first week (4/4/24) again 4/19/24, 5/24 (red flag) DMV let me smog my car and I kind laid off on getting it done knowing I had the warranty. Fast forward I brang my car in today 10/3/24 to see if I could actually get the timing done. We exchanged words he said he will check the car. I leave for an hr he calls me and says he needs to speak to me in person get there and he tells me my engine locked up due to oil being low. My car was cranking perfectly fine, before the drive it to the stall to "inspect" it. Then went on to say my warranty is voided because I went to another mechanic which is false. All repairs completed at *** Auto Service are covered under full warranty for 12 months or ****** miles (whichever first occurs). If for some reason our mutual customer is having any issues with the recent vehicle repair. They can return to the shop facility and have the vehicle inspected at no charge under warranty coverage.
The customer did return to the shop o 10/******* and there was ZERO oil registering in the engine. Low oil pressure can cause so many internal issues. That is extreme neglect. The vehicle would definitely alert the driver via dashboard that there was an under the hood concern. Whether it be the oil light or the check engine light. USA Auto Service is not responsible for the fact the customer has driven the vehicle without oil. The *** part has nothing to do with that repair.

Let's be real! I brang my car back to your ***** several times! After I paid 2k dollars for my timing and camshaft sensors to be done at your shop. I am reaching out to speak to someone in regards to negligent auto repairs that have been done to my vehicle at *** Auto service in *************** on rancho drive. My repairs were done between the dates of June 22nd through June 27th. During this time frame I have been consistently back and forth two USA Auto on North rancho drive for 5 days straight. I was in contact with the manager ******* who consistently keeps avoiding my calls and had untrained professionals working on my vehicle which this shop has overcharged me for repairs that were not needed. Along with overcharging me for repairs that were not needed but created more issues from my vehicle which include check engine lights, rapid idling of my vehicle, and paying for maintenance that did not need to be conducted which never fixed the original issue. They also conducted a diagnostic check that never fully resolved my issue and made it seem as though there were no issues present with the car when there is clearly a check engine light because of the work that they conducted prior. I've been trying to contact ******* to repair the original issues that were never conducted but she keeps avoiding my calls. I am seeking to take this to attorneys fairly soon if this issue is not resolved and report this location immediately. I would like to speak to someone in corporate who can fairly resolve this issue without taking this to court. I do have documentation providing times dates as well as prior issues that show that the work that she conducted was never needed and was overcharged.Initial Complaint

The auto service charge me for a service and tune up in my car over price and they ***t fix my car issue. I Brought my car in for repairs on June 5th of 2024.. I had my credit ran to qualify for financing because the estimated charges was out of my Budget the lady insisted I do it.. after being approved I was told my car would be ready the next day.. took a few days they gave me the car back with no repairs done at all everything was still the same .. there was no explanation to why when I returned it.. they just say they would do a further diagnosis. After that I was told my car would be completed the following weekend.. the day come I inquire about the car they tell me they are waiting for the part to arrive weeks later still no part they blamed it on the dealership had a cyber strike.. then I was told on two separate occasions the part came but it was defective. Took my sons jeep renegade 2017 color white and black on Wednesday 06/26/2024, for a AC Inspection to check the liquid levels due to they are advertising FREE AC INSPECTION. In the morning before taking it my husband checked the freeon liquid level with a home ac hose and showed only a little amount needed but we really dont trust it is really correct we took it to this place to make sure it was leveled correctly, and if not they can add it what the ac needs but too my surprise what they did was drained my ac freeon liquid completely because when I left the auto place I realized the ac did not get cold at all, when I get home my husband checked it again with our own hose now it shows nothing, completely empty and too top it off the person that was their checked my car reeked of alcohol. Now my car is with out AC in a 110 temperature thanks too them.the car we just get it from a dealer around 10 days ago, i call dealer and they told me they check all tha liquids on cars before put it for sale. I returned to speak with the manager too show the proofs that my car had ****** before taking it, but they said no nothing can get done and was told my manager that he could not keep talking to us and also reeked like alcohol and had his eyes really red and droopy.I want to be re-emberst for the money that I will spend to fix the valve that they damaged and refill freeon. I went in to get my smog checked and oil change and tried to tell them l had gone to a different branch closer to me for an oil change 5 months ago and they told me to go back to where l had my breaking system replaced as they put them in incorrectly and caused major damage to my cv axles and the store manager told me there was no way putting the breaks incorrectly would do that kind of damage and next the mechanic had me come into the garage to show me that my ignition coil was damaged and needed to be replaced and than the manager came over and told me my coolant was empty which was impossible as l used the ** and no light came on. The manager had me come to her desk and asked me for my phone and she applied for a non credit check credit to see what l was able to get and once she found out how much the mechanic came over with all these issues that needed to be done never tell me a thing and than she clicked on the credit to enter how much everything cost coming up to ******* and she applied for the credit and told me don't worry she took care of everything, all l had to do is make my first PMT by the end of the month or l will be charged with grand theft I live on disability and can not afford this. I asked if everything was needed to pass my vehicle inspection and the mechanic said no but they did it anyway.They also told me l needed an oil pan as mine was leaking yet l had no oil on the ground.I feel they took advantage of me because l am 61 and a female.I have never had this happen before.Business Response

This repair was completed to specification in March 2023. All parts were purchased and installed on the vehicle. All repairs performed at *** Auto Service are covered under full warranty (parts & labor) for 12 months or ****** miles (whichever first occurs). . Our office has confirmed with the Shop Manager that the customer has not returned to *** Auto ********************** to express any dissatisfaction with the repair. Please advise our mutual customer that if she has any repair concerns, she can return to the location as his earliest convenience for a complimentary inspection of the vehicle.
The finance loan agreement was emailed to the customer in regard to the terms and conditions. It was the responsibility of the customer to read and understand the payment options when using this resource to pay for the vehicle repair on the 2008 ***** Tribute. The finance loan options are in place for customers who do not have cash or credit cards at the time of the repair. Or simply choose to use the repayment system to give themselves more time Once the repair in completed the financial status between *********************** and our customer is confidential. We are not aware of the payments made or the status of the loan. Our only responsibility to make sure the vehicle repairs were completed properly. I wasn't given the opportunity to say yes to the loan as the manager took my phone and did it found out what l could charge and applied for the loan. I was told not to worry that everything was taken care of.
I wasn't given the opportunity to say l can't afford this amount.
As a senior l felt taken advantage of and had no voice.
I told the manager l was looking to do what l needed to pass inspection and never told what they were going to do.
I saw scribbles all over my sheet nothing discussed with me.
I haven't gone back to the shop as l felt taken advantage of and a friend also had issues with them as well and left with a large bill.

My wife went to *** for a smog for a registration renewal, she was told that she had a bad radiator cap. They want to flush all the fluids in the vehicle my wife called me as I was at work to ask what to do. She put the Service Technician on the phone and I told him to just replace the cap and top it off then the charged her for a something else the was not agreed upon. I believe they advertise a low cost smog with free vehicle inspection. I do appreciate the inspection that found the bad radiator cap but being charged for something that was not approved. I did call back to talk to the manager she immediately said the technician would call be back we I wanted to talk to her. When the tech call me back he argued with me that i told him to perform the service. I do have a witness to the phone when I told him what to do. Upon review of the invoice details, the radiator cap replacement was only $41.22 The vehicle received a smog test and full fluid service; brake, coolant, transmission fluid and power steering fluid included. The customer had a repair completed in February 2023, as a 1st time customer. Since that time, the customer has not returned to the facility for any general maintenance. Now in March **************************************** for a diagnostic test because the check engine light was on. The vehicle was recommended several part replacements in order to fix the vehicle specifically for what was causing the light and most importantly to pass smog in order to obtain the current vehicle registrations tags. After the installation of the vapor canister, leak detection pump and purge valve. The light automatically turned off and on 3/21/24 the vehicle passed the smog emissions test. Which confirmed the repairs were completed to OEM specification. The customer was advised that there were other maintenance needs at that time, but she declined. Using the exact wording "I'll wait until the vehicle start over-heating". That is not the best way to gauge repairing any vehicle because when a part is failing it relies on other component(s) for strength to operate. Basically, causing additional damage to other vehicle parts in that process of neglect.
The customer contacted the corporate office help line regarding the vehicle drivability and the company towed the vehicle into the facility at no cost to ****************** to inspect and verify again that the recent repairs were intact. Although the vehicle had already passed smog testing, a part can become defective, and we stand by our repair work offering a full warranty (parts and labor) for 12 months or ****** miles. It was determined that the vehicle repairs performed by USA Auto Service were fine, the vehicle still needed attention in other areas. Upon researching the *** # and Carfax history it was discovered that the vehicle has not received any maintenance the past year, not even an oil change on records even though the vehicle mileage reflects 21,000k miles driven in 1 calendar year which is twice the amount is per capita in ******. The average person drives ******* per year. It is completely unreasonable to have received absolutely no oil changes at minimum during the time frame or even a tire rotation. The Carfax history also revealed that the vehicle has not had many repairs, which is a good and bad thing. The vehicle has upheld for the previous owner, but now is falling apart and mechanically failing for the current owner, ****************** All vehicles require general upkeep whether by age, mileage and basic wear and tear. None of which have been done on this 2013 Jeep Patriot.
It's unfortunate for ****************** because car repairs are never a convenience and can be expensive especially if the vehicle has been neglected to a certain degree as this one has been in terms of under the hood concerns. The customer bought this car with 161k miles driven and 11 years of age, which means she bought a car someone else did not want to fix and continue to maintain any further. Many of the parts on this car are original - never been replaced. So, ****************** must decide whether she wants to keep the Jeep and take the time to invest in the vehicle - a little TLC, to keep it on road or possibly research purchasing a vehicle with better previous maintenance, or lesser miles driven. The vehicle is not a bad car to own but, in this case absolutely will require more money and repairs.
