I contacted **** with Carburetors & More for an estimate to have a new engine put in my 2014 Dodge Ram. I was told it would be $7,500 total and they would need 1/2 down to start. On September 15th, we had the vehicle towed to Carburetors and More. I took a cashier check for $3,750.00 (required 1/2 down) and cash of $100 for the tow. On Monday, 9/18/23 they called and said they needed to replace the Starter $237.00 plus labor. We had the starter checked prior to this and the starter was fine, Then they called and said they needed to replace the Radiator, which was never a problem and had no leaks, MORE MONEY! On 9/21/23 at 10:40 am they text me that they were getting the new motor installed. At 11:10 they sent a picture of the oil cooler and said it needed to be replaced, $550.00. We had just had it replace by ********* and it was under warranty so we got the replacement part and took it to them to replace. On September 26th we were notified the vehicle was ready for pickup. When we got to Carburetors & More we were told that they had to remove the freon from the air conditioning because of leaks and we would have to have it fixed ourselves, now it blows hot air only, although, when we brought the truck in the air was working fine and was down right cold in the vehicle. They said and the check engine light was on because the knock sensors weren't replaced. Why were we not asked about replacing the knock sensors, since it is right where the oil cooler is and they had that area apart repairing it. We have since had the knock sensors replaced at a cost of $667.16 and the check engine light is still on. In addition, the truck has leaked oil since we got it back from them and the oil pressure gauge stays on 90. We have taken the truck back several times each time we take it in we are told "THE ENGINE ******** PERFECTLY"! When you pay almost $9,000 you should have a vehicle that runs, does not leak and the check engine light does not stay on.

From what I have experienced the work quality is extremely poor. I took my car back to them over 8 times in the past year December 21, 2020 to have a leak fixed that they told me to my face that they fixed. Each time I drove it home it leaked so bad in my driveway that my HOA sent letters to have the stains removed or be fined. My most recent trip November 2021 I spoke to David at the front desk and he showed me a piece of rubber (a rear main seal from somewhere)? and said he fixed the leak. My daughter was driving it to her friend's house and the car (1998 Honda civic EX) over heated. I had to have it towed back to my house on November 24th at 7;25 pm because it was making an electrical shorting sound inside the gear shifter. The temperature gauge was up at the red H level and the car was running extremely rough. I felt as if I was not being treated with respect and my car was not given the care and repair that David at carburetors and more promised in their contract that I have in my possession. It states in the contract that they will repair or replace it if they can't fix it. Then engine leaked from the first day they claimed to have rebuilt it. almost everything that had a gasket leaked. power steering pump, had to replace it and the O rings on the distributor leaked, oil pan Gasket just replaced it myself because they kept telling me they repaired it and never did. I replaced the Oxygen sensors (2) All I want is my car fixed I paid them cash without delay.

It is unfortunate that Mr. ****** feels this way. We have done everything in our power to repair his vehicle properly. On November 11, 2021 Mr. T***** brought his vehicle in for a suspected rear main seal leak. Within a few hours I had vehicle ready and showed him the components as they were being installed. I gave him the seal we removed and you could see it was new. I also explained to Mr. ****** that the engine was overfilled with oil by about 4 quarts. (Over filling with engine oil could cause gaskets to leak.)
I spoke to Mr. ****** this morning prior to receiving this review and told him to have the vehicle delivered tomorrow and we would take a look at it. It is also possible that something else failed that caused vehicle to overheat. As for him replacing the power steering pump and oxygen sensors, those items were not replaced by our company and were not covered under warranty.

update, on 12-01-21 Mr. Thomas picked up his vehicle from the shop, he drove and inspected the vehicle, it turned out to be a shift solenoid on the transmission which we didn't repair or work on before, not related to the engine repair performed by us, we cleaned and reinstalled the shift solenoid at no charge to him.(didn't replace the solenoid) Mr. Thomas is aware that the transmission is leaking fluid also

My check engine light is on and I hooked up my OBD and its telling me it the Knock sensor..today is XX-X-XXXX time 1:35 PM. I ask them to fix the car but they were in the mode of someone trying.h to get work done for free..no I said fix the car...was not trying to get anything free. But it was bought to my attention that they did the work for free but the car is still leaking I didn't have a leaking issue when I took the car to them..I wanted them to fix the leak that I never had to begin with. All o said was fix my car..they should have diagnosed the issue told me the repair cost and fixed it. No one was trying to do anything all I wanted was the leak fixed and they didn't do it! Thanks but no thanks.
