      Unfair Medical Billing by Southwest Medical / PlusFour *** Dear Better Business Bureau, I am filing a formal complaint regarding an unfair and misleading medical bill I received from Southwest Medical, which was later transferred to the collection agency PlusFour, Inc. My primary care doctor clearly told me that the colonoscopy was a preventive screening, and I confirmed multiple times with my insurance (Health Plan of ******) that it would be covered 100%. Based on this, I underwent the procedure with confidence that I would not be billed. Afterward, I was surprised to receive a bill and was later referred to a debt collection agency. This has caused me significant stress, emotional distress, and fear of damage to my excellent credit. I have already disputed the charges via certified mail and submitted documentation to the appropriate state agencies. I respectfully request that BBB assist in ensuring that: 1. The bill is canceled, 2. The collection activity is stopped, 3. My credit is not affected by this unfair action. Thank you very much for your time and support.

      I am filing a complaint against PlusFour for aggressively and unfairly placing a $2,713.00 medical debt on my credit report without ever contacting me first or validating the debt. The debt originated from ****************, a provider I was never informed would be billing me separately during my emergency room visit at ********************** on March 16, 2024.I never received a bill, phone call, or written notice from PlusFour or Desert Radiology before discovering the collection account on my credit report. This is a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), which requires collectors to notify consumers and provide validation before reporting debts to credit *********** an uninsured patient caring for a disabled spouse and a young child, Ive suffered financial harm and emotional distress from this unjust action. I am actively seeking financial assistance and attempting to dispute the charges, but PlusFour has continued reporting the account with no attempt to communicate or resolve the matter.I request that PlusFour immediately remove this item from my credit report, halt any further collection activity, and provide a full explanation of their failure to notify me prior to reporting.

      I had to medically retire in February 2022. Some time after that I was notified that PLUS FOUR COLLECTIONS was coming after me for a claim. When I called them the first time and told them I was disputing their claim, they said ok. They refused to tell me who was behind this claim unless I submittrf a detailed request for this information. After sending this letter, it took many weeks for them to finally respond telling me it was my former employer's medical insurance Southwest Medical Health and Life that did this. At this time I had been an established patient with their subsidiary Health Plan of Nevada (***). At the time I was already on ******** and my licensed Medicare agent wasted hours on the phone with them explaining what had happened and seeking resolution. To this day, I have heard nothing from them. When I recieved a second demand from PLUS FOUR months later, I called them again and reiterated that I was disputing this claim. Both times I was told this was on a recorded line. I have impeccable credit and have maintained an 800+ credit score for decades! In checking my mail today, My credit score on Credit Karma was 835 and my credit score on another document had me at 705. In checking Credit Karma, this claim is now listed as "overdue". The BBB has multiple complaints from them and they currently have an F rating and further documentation is that they are "not credited" by the BBB. I am presently waiting for my Medicare Agent to contact me and I have a call into my attorney. I am ready to seek legal action against these CLOWNS if this nonsense is not immediately resolved. I am livid with this company. One does not maintain an 800+ credit score for decades by not paying bills on time.

      I called several months ago to see who this company is. Ive never heard of them before. I called in again today, 09/26/2024, and they state the debt is from 5/22/2022 from Desert Radiology and the amount pending is for a different charge. I asked for an email of the contract between me and PLUSFOUR and their representative, ***, says there is no contract. I looked online to see if PLUSFOUR is accredited with the BBB and they are not. Theyve had a collections to my account for a growing debt that is a different charge that is unknown, and we have no contract for. Please remove this collection from my account immediately.

      I am rejecting this response because: I had responded before stating that I had called and their customer service representative had stated No this for a different amount. When I had asked her if I had a contract with them. It is verified that I do not have a contract with PlusFour, therefore they have no business collecting a debt from me whether or not they are a third party. Their response statement of, we are a third party. Is not a sufficient response to elicit a debt payment from me. They are also tacking on interest to the debt, which started out around $1,400 and is now over $1,700.
