On 3/24/22 I took my Classic car 1973 ****** to Atomic Motor on Sunset Road in Henderson, NV, for several upgrades . I was quoted an approximate amount of 12,000 and would take around 2 weeks. I agreed to to this, as this was the exact amount of my budget. I was called a week later ( on Friday ) to bring a check of $7071. Throughout the process, I stopped in to check on the progress. I was never asked to bring in any more money. Only one time were they actually working on my car when I was there. Seven weeks later, on May 12th, I received a call that the car was ready for pick up. I was then presented with the final bill of an additional $15,600. I asked why the amount went so far over the estimate and my budget. I never gave my permission to go over my budget. I asked isn't it their policy to call the client when the cost reached the estimated price, so I could make a decision of whether to proceed or not based on what I could afford? I have spoken to the owner, Bill and he and his service manager Tred and they are not willing to refund any of the cost, but instead told me that they would give me a discount on future work. I declined. I feel the price did not justify $22,600. worth of work. ( Installed new suspension in the front, two shocks in the rear, new headers, new shifter, interior carpet and sound detnor, installed new dashboard gauges, moved the seat 3" back, fixed the passenger door window so it would roll up. ) I personally priced all the parts on ****** and combined they were only $3527.24. I asked why they marked up the parts so much, Tred and Bill let me know that it is "normal industry practice" to raise the price 100 - 300% on parts. Labor was $145. per hour. Not letting me know how much over they were on the estimate given, was deceitful. Bill told me that I broke the contract rules to not come in every Friday to bring them a check. I wish they would have called every Friday for a payment, so I would have known where I was at on the cost.
