Around November 1, 2023 . My hoover carpet shampooer started smelling and not running correctly. I reached out to Hoover because I was still within my warrenty. They advised me to go to Bob's Sewing and Vaccum Center. I called them prior to taking my Carpet Cleaner to them and I confirmed that they did indeed work with Hoover and repair the equipmen I took the cleaner that day or the day after. When I dropped it off we went over the process they told me it takes some time. Ok i understand warrenty,I patiently waited 3-4 weeks then I called them They procced to tell me that they were working with them . That turned into another month. Then the technician was out for like 2 months and no one could help me , They knew nothing . could not tell me nothing at all, I called once a week the whole month of March and kept getting the run around in April I called and spoke to **** and she said that she would let me know then 2 days later I get a call from Bobs Vacuum and they told me that They are not working with hoover anymore and they will not be able to fix my machine they then told me I would have to pay them . My complaint is that this business that has been 44 years cant see that there is an issue here and this is not the way a business should run.Business response

This is a warranty machine. The Hoover company has changed hands and in reality does not exist anymore. We have been working to contact the current Hoover company to get this machine covered for the customer. We have sent emails and called multiple times and have gotten nothing from Hoover. We have tried to help the customer but have so far been unable through no fault of our own. We did not sell this machine to the customer and have not charged anything for our time.Initial Complaint

On December 31, 2021 I brought my Kenmore Elite 81714 to Bob's Sewing & Vacuum Center located at **** ****** **, IN Albuquerque, NM 87112. I was informed that they would call me within 1 week. I called them on 01/07/2022 as I had not hear back from them. I spoke with a woman who did not identify herself, and she stated that they had to order parts. I called on 01/17/2022 and was informed that they could not locate parts and I could pick it up. I spoke with a Jim who stated that the form on my vacuum didn't make sense, as the repairs stated that the vacuum needed were not the reason I brought the vacuum in for. My husband picked up the vacuum cleaner on 01/20/2022. When he came home with it he had someone else's older vacuum cleaner. He brought it back to Bob's Sewing & Vacuum Center. The woman he spoke with was adament with my husband that this was our vacuum cleaner. IT. WAS. NOT OUR vacuum cleaner. Ours is 1 year old, (just past warranty) and light pink /champaign in color- this vacuum cleaner was an older Kenmore that was dark gold in color. I was supposed to hear from the Manager Kelly D******. I did not receive a call back. I called Kelly at 09:45 am 01/21/2022. He was argumentative with me insisting that this was my vacuum cleaner. I gave him my serial number- which he claims matched. The only explanation I can come up with is that is appears to me that they switched the parts on my vacuum cleaner with an older model. I have a copy of my Amazon order that shows that the vacuum cleaner that they claim is mine is NOT mine. This Kelly informed me that he gets about 1000 claims like this. He was rude, interrupted me constantly and essentially was accusing me of lying. There is a review online of another Albuquerque resident that had the same experience with this business. This shop appears to be practicing fraudulently. Attached is my original order from Amazon, a picture of my vacuum and the work order from 12/31/2021.Business response

Tell us why here...We are responding to the complaint filed by DR ***** ***** *******, over her vacuum that she
checked into us on December 32 2021. With a complaint of not picking up.
DR ******* requested a estimate first, we did the estimate, then we eventually had a conversation
her or husband, about the repair informing them that we could not repair the machine due to the fact,
we are not able to order parts to repair it.
Then her husband came in to pick up the machine, her husband left with the machine, then her husband
returned later with the machine, telling us its not their machine, DR ******* called us on Saturday the 22nd, and said she had found her MANUAL
which listed the serial number and the serial number matches the serial number on the machine,theirs no mistaking that this is their vacuum.

I am rejecting this response because: The vacuum cleaner my husband picked up was NOT the same color as our vacuum cleaner. OUR VACUUM CLEANER WAS NOT DARK GOLD IN COLOR. It was worn and very clearly not the same vacuum cleaner I dropped off on December 31st, 2021.
The only explanation is that parts were removed and replaced with an older models parts, hence why part of the vacuum has the correct serial number.

As previously provided this machine is her machine, the machine is here for her to pickup at anytime, we hold it for 30 days then dispose of it.Customer response
