Went in for a routine eye exam on January 28, 2025 at 10:30am for an appointment at 10:45am. Was called for the pre-exam and the technician took my current glasses to test them. As she was doing her task I heard a slight curse under her breath and she turned to me. She poured the pieces of my now broken glasses into my hands and said, "sorry about that." She then preceeded to do the pre-exam checks and finally ushered me back to the waiting room. Waited to be called for the exam. Let the doctor know about the tech breaking my glasses and she made it seem as if she would make it right. Sadly, she had forgotten about the broken glasses by the end of the exam and I had to remind her. She said she would have them fixed "next door." I was then ushered back to the waiting room where I was forgotten about until I stood at the desk asking that they fix them or make it right. They took my glasses to the back and I waited for a while. I became impatient after the person who took my glasses came back without a word to me. I went back to the desk to ask about the glasses when the gentleman who took them previously decided to berate me. As if their tech breaking my glasses was somehow my fault. The doctor showed back up then with my glasses that were super glued with a large amount of glue smeared across one of my lenses(as shown in the provided picture). I have a correction requirement on my driver's license and my work involves driving as a part of the job. So, now I'm out of work until I can pay to get new glasses.

      Business Response

      Date: 01/28/2025

The patient's frame was badly worn and broken already. He had asked the technician to be careful with them as they were broken already. Our handling of the frame is very minimal, just enough to read the prescription.  The attached photo shows the condition of the frame BEFORE we attempted to repair it.

      Business Response

      Date: 03/12/2025

Verbal Response: We will refund for the damaged lens in amount $65.00. Would you prefer to have a check mailed to you or come in to us for the refund? We ask that after this occurs that you update your postings online that the issue has been resolved, or remove the posts.

      Re: ID # ******** - Eyeworks Optometry

      Dear Eyeworks Optometry,

I appreciate your acknowledgment of the damage caused to my
property by your employees. Thank you.

However, I do not accept the resolution you have proposed
regarding compensation for the complete loss of my property.

As per your request, I provided the original purchase
receipt, which clearly states the item's value as $209.98, not $65, as offered
      in your verbal response.

I entered your establishment wearing my glasses and left
with them shattered and covered in superglue. This damage was not due to any
action on my part. One of your employees broke them, and a second further
      damaged them beyond repair.

You have acknowledged that the irreparable damage was caused
by your employees. Given this, I cannot accept the terms of your proposed
      resolution.

Thank you for your time and have a wonderful day,
