On January 17, 2023 I reserved a room at Super 8 by Wyndham Albuquerque Airport Conf.#************* in order to be able to be at the ABQ airport at 530 am on Feb. 12, 2023 to join a tour and catch a flight. When I arrived on the evening of February 12, 2023 I was greeted with lots of construction, torn up stairways, and a total remodel of the hotel with only a few rooms “completed” on the third floor that could be occupied. This was never mentioned or identified when making the reservations. It's a good thing that I have no issues with mobility as there was much loose gravel, boards and other construction material all over. The room I was given still had holes in the walls, no trash cans, a new clock that could not be set, a TV remote that did not match the TV and would not work, and the next morning I found NO hot water. I went to the airport determined not to keep the return reservation at this Super 8 Conf,#************* for Feb. 19, 2023, but being busy on the trip, I did not have time to change or cancel. I did call the hotel early on the morning of Feb. 18 to confirm the reservation and advise them that the return flight was late and ask the room be held for late arrival. I was assured that they would hold the room and all was well with the reservation. I arrived at the hotel at 11 pm, I was informed that the manager was in the process of changing the method of making room keys and since he was not able to make them at this time, the manager would not honor the reservation and could not accommodate me. There was no offer to seek other hotels in the area for me. I was just SOL! There had been no call or text to alert me that my reservation would not be good for that night, and I was forced to seek other accommodations myself as I was far too tired after a full day of travel to drive the 100 miles home at night and after a recent snowfall. I want a total refund of my charges $76.79 for the first night's charges.
