On 05/02/2022, I inquired into driving lessons for my son. I spoke with Duke City Driver's Education, LLC., as its advertisement stated, "customized class schedule". This was appealing, as I work three 12-hour shifts and need a class for my son that can work around this. I spoke with Lisa H******, owner/facilitator, who assured me that they can provide a schedule that works for my son. We chose this business and I paid $389.81 for the "New Teen Driver" package. My son started the first Zoom class on 05/09/2022 and completed 06/03/2022. The final exam was not completed, as it came up on a day he would start a high school summer class. We had no problems the first week. The second portion, was hectic, as we had to call to remind Lisa to send the Zoom link. This happened every day of that last week. Prior to the final exam, I called and asked about the permit testing and was told she would call me back. I never received that call, so I sent a text letting her know of my availability. The reply was curt, stating she has mentioned this in multiple emails (never received an email regarding an upcoming permit test nor has my son). She then texted that she too, "works six-twelves", and gave me the testing date of 06/09/2022. I texted back that I thought she would work around my schedule. Again, she curtly told me to pick a date. I picked a date, which was 06/07/2022, but she was a no-show. The date and time were in a text and email to her. On the day she did not show up for the permit testing, I asked for a refund, to which she stated, "I will refund your money and you can restart with another school". A later email from said individual made her comment out to sound as if I was asking for a refund on the MVD permit portion. I already understood the MVD portion was included in the total cost of course. This business owner did not provide what I paid for. My son wasted two weeks worth of class time with this business with nothing to show for it.
