  I paid Mesa Vista Custom Homes, owner/contractor Ken M****, $588,000 to build a residential home at ** ********* *****, ****** ****, NM. The construction began of this home in the summer of 2020. He initially said that he would likely be finished by December 2020, but if not, at the latest by February 2021. Five payments to him were paid on time, and I have made every effort to communicate. The construction is still not completed (August 10 2022). Through the entire process, he has been non-communicative, and often gone weeks without returning texts. Nearly two and a half years later, the home [a residence of this kind normally takes 8-9 months] is not done. There are still many outstanding tasks to be completed such as the driveway to the residence, lack of a door in the kitchen area, completed landscaping, concrete work in front of home, water softener in the home, among others. He said that he would be completed with the dwelling (most recently) on May 27, 2022, so we had movers to bring all of our goods to New Mexico (from our residence in Florida), and we have been waiting - living with friends in ****** **** since then. We are very frustrated, as we have made all of our payments on-time, but Mesa Vista Custom Homes - Ken M****, contractor - has taken advantage of us and we are still not in our home nearly two and one half years later. I am teaching at UNM this fall, and unless something can be done, it seems my only option here is to sell the home in whatever state of construction it is, and purchase a new property. I am a native of Albuquerque, and very disappointed about this whole process.
