From September-December 2020 the repairs done to my car at Dan's Automotive were faulty, and continue to be, such that I took my car to another auto mechanic. **** ********* ********** fixed or remedied most of the issues with the clutch, which was the bigger of the issues. However, the brake job done in September 2020, demonstrates poor parts used as evidenced by CONTINUAL squeaking since the new brakes were installed, as diagnosed by **** ********* . Per this mechanic, poor quality parts were used and over time these will give me issues. They already are. Approximately $4,000 in repairs were done to the brakes and clutch and the workmanship does not reflect good quality customer service, parts, and overall poor workmanship.Business response

To whom it may concern,
This is in response to a complaint by *** *******. We performed the first brake service in September 2020. We then later did another service to clutch in December 2020. We were trying to address his complaints when he decided to take vehicle to another shop. The clutch was fixed the last time he brought the vehicle to us. The issue was an adjustment with the shifter after we installed the clutch. The vehicle developed a leak where the clutch service was done. *** then went to another shop and they diagnosed the leak. We paid for the leak that developed. We paid the shop directly that did the repair. Other than that, the brakes squeaked and we offered to resolve that but *** wouldn’t bring back his vehicle. It was his choice to take it to another shop. We offered to warranty brakes but he wouldn’t return. We did pay the other shop(**** *********) for the oil leak the car developed. This was done close to a year ago. We should have had first opportunity to warranty any work done.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:Dan's Automotive lacked the ability to take care of my car on the first visit for both clutch and brake jobs. Thus seeking another mechanic who provided diagnostics and ultimately fixed what Dan's should have. However, I took my car back to Dan's more than 6 times because of both a squeak sound upon initial pick up after the brake job was done. (I had to Uber back/forth each time they told me nothing was wrong. On one occasion I was told they drove the car quite a bit and found nothing wrong. However, the odometer reading and the fact that I visibly saw my car in the parking lot untouched, told me they did not evaluate it or drive it.) The clutch job was also a failure with leaking oil immediately after the job was done. The shifter was also sticking and the technician advised it was because it was a new clutch. ***** ********** identified both poor quality of brakes installed and advised no lubricant was added to the brakes when they were installed, thus the poor performance. ***** also identified and sticky shift on this last evaluation. My loyalty and dedication had been to Dan's Automotive, as they specialize in foreign vehicles and had good customer service. However, the safety and reliability of this vehicle is the primary reason I took it elsewhere. The primary technician at Dan's Automotive was well aware of a recent accident that left me with only vehicle, the VW that they worked on, as well of the importance of this vehicle for my job, as I transport clients in this vehicle. Clearly, both clutch and brake job did not meet safety or reliability factors in this case. Garrett R*** also became aware of the issues I was experiencing. When he and I last spoke, he apologized for the issues I was experiencing and offered a free oil job on my next visit. I mean no malice or bad intentions here. I spent a lot of money at Dan's Automotive on work that I expected to be quality. They used to ask for pictures of our cars to post on their website to display the pride in their workmanship based upon the cars in the photos. I just want my car running and working right! Nothing more!
