I booked a trip to Italy for four people last year. I paid them a deposit of $2,479 on February 7, 2020. The trip was to start on May 16, 2020. Due to the pandemic, the trip was cancelled thru no fault of our own. Perilla kept saying that if I cancelled I would not get a full refund. Here we are, April 30, 2021 and travel restrictions to Italy are still in place until further notice. My 89 year old father no longer wants to go overseas due to his age and fear of becoming ill in a foreign country. I requested a refund. Perillo only refunded $2,079 and kept $400 for “administrative fees.” None of this is my fault. They have held on to my money long enough. I want the balance refunded to me...all of it.Business response

We reviewed the case under the name of Ms. ******* ****.
Ms. **** did book a custom trip to Italy with us for May 2020 for a party of 4 people. (A customized trip takes alot of work and time on our par). On February 7th she paid $2479 by credit card including a deposit of $350 per person and the trip insurance ($269 pp). On March 11th, 2020 we were informed to cancel their trip due to the pandemic. At that time, they accepted our option to postpone their trip to 2021 with no penalty fee.
On April 20th, 2021 Ms. ****’s travel agent called to inform us that the clients didn’t feel comfortable with traveling abroad in 2021. We offered them to extend their travel credit to 2022 or receive a refund minus an administrative fee of $100 per person for trip cancellations as opposed to our usual $350 per person. As a courtesy, we offered to refund the trip insurance as well, which is usually not refundable. They decided to proceed with the refund and gave us their credit card information.
We do understand that their trip was canceled because of the pandemic, which is no one’s fault, and that they are still afraid to travel to a foreign country. We are willing to lower our fee to $30 per person to cover the credit card fees that we must pay. Please advise if they are ok with this.
Thank you

I am rejecting this response because:
I would counter offer a total of $100 to cancel which is $25 per person. I am out of work and every penny counts. Please advise.
