At the recommendation of my other mechanic, I took my car to the dealership because they did not do transmissions. They told me that there was no need to get additional work fixed on my vehicle if it was the transmission so with this information I took the vehicle to performance and I explained what my other mechanic and how we thought it was the transmission based on what I was experiencing while I was driving the vehicle. They checked the vehicle and changed the transmission oil on 2/5/24. It cost $388. They said it wasn’t the transmission. I brought the vehicle home and I still had the same issues so I took it back. My son again explained to them that it was having the same issues. Again they said it was not the transmission. I take it back on 2/16/24. They informed me oh, I have good news and I have bad news. Which news do you want to hear? I say the bad news. He says well. You have a whole lot of things wrong with it but the good news is it’s not the transmission. So at the recommendation of what they thought was wrong with it. It cost me another $3150. We take the car home. The same issues are still occurring. We take it back on 2/29/24 and now they tell us that it’s the transmission but each time we took it to them we kept emphasizing that we thought it was the transmission so after spending all this money, and explaining what was going on with the vehicle and telling them what the other mechanic said that we thought it was a transmission issue, that’s why we had to bring it back to the dealership now all of a sudden they say “oh it’s the transmission” after I put out all this money. I spent $3888 on issues that I would NEVER would have gotten fixed because there was a transmission issue. I believe that the mechanic misdiagnosed the problem so therefore it is their fault I asked for my money back or at least for the labor cost back which would’ve been $1800. After every visit the documents they gave me the transmission was checked as good.
