    When I moved out of the state in March 2023, I canceled my monthly membership to Spa Society Weehawken. I was told by the receptionist I spoke to that it was *********** of" and was never informed that there were additional steps.I became aware today that I have been charged monthly from the Spa Society for a subscription service I had canceled. The charges escaped my notice, as I am the solo business owner of 3 businesses and my bookkeeper did not flag them. When I called the Spa Society now to express my concern about these charges and request they be refunded, *****, the owner, was not helpful. She kept insisting that I had not adhered to their cancellation policy, of which I had no way of knowing when the employee told me my membership was canceled. This business has had a high turnover in front desk staff and management, and I believe maybe the employee I spoke with did not know protocol.I have no ability to redeem these credits for goods or services and requested that they be refunded, as I was being charged after the membership was canceled. ***** told me that I could either come in and use them (despite previously telling me it was their policy that only active members can use these credits. Seems like their policies are confusing and not well executed) or "gift them to a friend." Because of the amount, I do not want to just give this money away.***** told me that she needs to pay her bills and can't refund the charges. It is a poor business practice to be reliant on fraudulent charges to pay your bills.
