On 05/06 I purchased a 2018 ******* Tucson from Auto Lender in Lawrenceville, ** location. Once we were good to go and literally on the way home, I noticed white smoke coming from the back of the vehicle. We turned back around and the car was unable to drive and I had to get a ride back to Auto lenders to see what happened = NO OIL IN THE ******* They QUICKLY replaced the vehicle and swapped it out with a 2019 ******* Tucson which I fell in love with. No issues , the car was great. On August 28th my check engine light came on and the car was making a weird noise, not too loud but I noticed my car was making noise. Upon service they told me I was out of warranty and my catalytic converter was failing and I would have to pay over $2K in repairs/labor before taxes. I was so upset because from May to August how can a catalytic converter fail when its suppose to last up to 10years. Nothing is being done about my repairs when it should be under warranty especially with the car being 3 months being bought and having issues already.Business Response

We purchased a car from Auto Lenders in *** back in June 2022. When we test drove the car, there was some things that needed to be fixed but the dealership was adamant and reassured us that they would make sure to fix everything before the car was given to us. They kept the car, did repairs, we picked it up supposedly, everything was fixed but we still noticed the shaking so we took it back. So far this car has been in the shop 4 times (if not more) for than 2/3 days at a time since we purchased it. They have fixed motor mounts, valve cover gaskets, which they pinched and had oil leaking every where, broke the catalytic converter when doing a repair (they ended up fixing but we had to go back to shop for them to keep again), timing chain, front suspension, etc.. Nonetheless, we have continuously have had to take the car back to get repairs. Recently this week, we took the car in because the car is still shaking uncontrollably. When we dropped the car off their manager told us that he noticed a jerking motion with the transmission but then they called us to tell us that all they only found a loose bolt and it was $140 for tightening this bolt. Honestly, I just want them to buy the car back, it has been nothing but a headache. We're over a year in with this car and still having the same issues from the beginning. Such an inconvenience and they can careless.Business Response

I had given my *** X5 to repair at Auto Lenders in ***** service center with **** on August 24th. I was having a warning sign saying Engine hot! Drive moderately. Auto Lenders said that we will fix the problem and they put in Water Pump and Thermostat. I went in to pick up my car on August 26th and made a payment of *******. I was given my key and when I went to take my car home, my car had a message saying hood open, pull over safely. I then went back to them to explain to them about this and they said that they will fix the problem no charge. They said my car died while they were trying to fix it but they damaged my Module. Then they told me that module was on back order and they are not able to get it. I then went to *** car dealer and told them to order it and they were able to get it in the very next day. Auto lenders kept on giving me a run around. It is October 7th today and I got so frustrated with them and took my car to take to another dealer to get a resolution to my problem. I put my trust into them to repair my car and did not expect to pay for the problem they caused -an even bigger problem. Auto lenders told me that my car is not in a driving condition and it would not be safe to drive it but they do not want to take any responsibility to fix the problem. They got there money for fixing the original problem so they did not care. I also was disgusted with how they treated me and got annoyed when I called to check on the status of my car. They did not show any concern for the problem that they caused. Instead they made me feel like I was a nuisance for calling to check on my car which I needed to go to work. Initially, they said they would fix the problem free of charge and once the module was available, they said I would have to give them **** dollars to fix it. Horrible service and dishonest people. I will never go back there.Business Response

My husband purchased a 2018 **** F150 XLT from Auto Lenders in Toms River about 10 months ago. The truck needs a brand new motor as well as transmission work already. Clearly there were issues with the truck when it was sold to him. The warranty insurance he purchased is covering the needed repairs thankfully; however, we have to max out the policy. We did not trust Auto Lenders to do the repair work so the truck is at the **** dealer. We attempted to do the repair work at Auto Lenders but kept getting the run around. It appears they did not have the resources to do it. The engine is on back order with **** and we are being told it will not be shipped to the dealer for another 3-6 months. The warranty insurance only covers a rental car for 5 days. We already have not had a vehicle for 6 weeks. Auto Lenders has not assisted us at all in this matter. We are between a rock and a hard place. The cheapest rental is $1,100 a month which is not affordable for anyone. It's apparent that Auto Lenders are selling used vehicles to people without fully ensuring that the vehicle has no major defects.Business Response

In regards to the complaint, Auto Lenders serviced my husband's truck and was very accommodating. They took care of everything needed - phone calls, towing, rental car, etc. The first time my husband went to pick up the truck, he was unable to drive it home because there were still issues. We now have the truck and it appears that everything is now fixed and the truck is running well. We are hoping there are no more issues. Overall, we are currently satisfied with the outcome.

I sent several emails to Auto Lenders (AL) & called today 8/23. I am absolutely appalled at the fact that AL sold a 2014 **** Fiesta to my parents of 80 and 86 years old. I am PoA for both. Parents brought a **** corvette to AL on a recommendation to find out what the car was worth so they could sell it. They were then talked into buying another car and trading the corvette in. We wanted to get rid of the Corvette because *** could not drive it any longer. The car I believe was approx. $7000. AL should know that they could not af**** this since at least 2 reputable lenders denied them for the loan! AL also sold them an extended warranty for approx $3000. AL got them a loan for approx.. $10,000 from a bank in ********** Basically AL took advantage of 2 elderly people to make a sale. Then to make things worse, 13 days after the purchase the car left my mother stranded and had to be towed. The tow cost her $126, also money she does not have to spend, and AL will not reimburse her. This is ludicrous! She should be reimbursed, the car left her stranded 13 days after purchase. The car needs something to correct transmission. As of today's date, the car is still with AL, 15 days since it was towed. I called today 8/23 because we have not heard anything from AL. AL was to call me with an update, I gave them my number. They left a message on my mothers voicemail. They are supposedly waiting on a **** dealer to do something that of course we dont understand. They have had the car longer than my parents have owned it! When it left her stranded we immediately asked to negate the sale! I believe this to be a form of elder abuse. Financial exploitation, taking advantage of an 80- and 86-year-old woman and man for the benefit of AL to make a sale. This is outrageous. I have implored with them to take this car back & get them out of this loan. I have not had any response from AL.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:I would like to inform BBB that I was still waiting on additional information from Auto Lenders. The representative that I ended up working with at Auto Lenders was respectful. Auto Lenders tried to repair the car and when my mother went to pick the car up the representative went to retrieve the car from the garage. He put it in reverse and then put it in drive and the car would not move. Auto Lenders at this time have indicated that they will release my parents from the agreement of sale. However I have the check for the down payment has not been received and the loan has not yet been satisfied. I have requested documentation and I have not received it yet.
I would like to ensure that the record does indicate that in the end Auto Lenders did work with us but until I receive confirmation that all is closed out I can not officially make this statement.

Purchased 2017 ****** Frontier from AutoLenders of Toms River on May 12, 2023 for $25,194 (cash). At that time, truck was put on computer and it was determined that an upper manifold was needed and was owed to us. We were told that no other error codes were found. In for service and returned to us. Engine light came on, back to dealership, numerous other problems found, some parts replaced/ordered. At this latest time in, truck has been there for 22 days, we were told they cannot fix vehicle and they sent it to ******. ****** has had truck for 3 days and cannot determine problem. We went to autolenders to discuss getting a different vehicle for same price, general manager mentions restocking fees etc. Totally unacceptable. At this time we want a refund because this dealership has shown us what kind of business that they are.Business Response

I purchased a car at night and the next morning I took my 3 month old and 9 year old daughter to the grocery store, There was dew on the windows so I put the windows down to remove the do and neither window would go back up. It was 32 outside. I am mediately called the gentleman that I purchased a car from and he got me into the dealership to fix the windows. I got my car back after a few days and realized that the locks and mirror alert for when someone is in your blindside stops, working due to some thing they had done when they fix the window. They had taken my car again for about a week. Claims they fixed it. I got the car back and the back control for heating and air became so hot my children can get burnt if touching it. out of the total five months that I have had this vehicle, *** probably physically only had it for three every time Ive been put in a rental, which I appreciate however, the inconvenience of trying to get from work to the dealership to the rental Ive had to take multiple days off of work and they are saying that theres nothing wrong with the car. This last time the alarm for when something is too close to you or youre too close to something else just started going off out of nowhere. Causing me to slam on the brakes which could cause an accident. I am mediately notified the dealership and ask them to please take a look at this. I brought my car back to them. They ran my car in the parking lot for an hour never drove it. How are you to find that the alarm goes off if you dont drive it. They then stated that the back heating and air controls red through an infrared gone 108, which is not a concern to them. I have young children and 108. If they touch it will burn them. This is definitely an electrical problem. Theyve sent my car to Buick GMC dealership -and nothing, multiple people have been in the car when these things have occurred so its funny that they magically cannot happen now , I do not feel safe in this carBusiness Response
