STEER CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY OF THIEVES!!! I cancelled my service with this company as of the end of September. On October 2, 2023, Grand Sanitation came to my home, and not only took my trash, they also stole my grandson's $1000.00 stroller system that was not near the trash cans. The reason I cancelled with them was because they wouldn't take any trash that was outside of the can. I contacted the company to inform them of the theft, and they said they were not in my area that day, and not at my home due to the contract being cancelled. I have video and pictures of the employees on my property. I have tried up until today to have a resolution to the theft. The company does not respond to calls, emails, etc. Today, November 30, 2023, once again this company trespassed onto my property and not only took the trash, but a flooring nailer and airhose that was again, not in or around the can, I have video showing their employees on my property and loading this nailer into the truck. I called and was told they were not on my street today, and to come to the office with video proof, which I did. The manager *** was not courteous or man enough to even come out of his office to view the footage, and told us it was our fault for leaving property by the garage. How is this our fault, when they are NOT UNDER CONTRACT, TRESPASSED AND STOLE PROPERTY TWICE??!! I have now had to contact the police and file a report of theft, and they also continued to charge my credit card, after denying that they were at my house on the days the thefts occurred. I wish there was a way to leave negative stars because that's what this company deserves...DO YOURSELF A HUGE FAVOR AND DO NOT USE THESE LYING, TRESPASSING THIEVES!!!Review from Barbara B

***** was terrific in helping us solve the problem of waiting for our 86 gallon can. I dont understand why it takes a month to deliver said can (which we were notified of in welcome/info letter) or why they charge for it. But so far the pickup service has been flawless.Review from Marion C

The cost of doing business should be reasonable. I contracted with Grand Sanitation for concrete recycling. They charged $314.54 for their 20 yard container. The cost to recycle the concrete is $85.00 per ton. I recycled ***** tons of concrete at a cost of $1383.80. I requested a copy of the dump ticket. The cost charged to Grand Sanitation was ****** out. A call to ********************* disclosed that the cost per ton is $18.00. This is capitalism on steroids. I would not consider this a reasonable transaction. Two stars were given only because the staff were cordial. Price gouging should be prohibited.Grand Sanitation Service, Inc. Response

um, where is the cost of recyling anything only $18 per ton? we would love to know the organization that quoted you that peice ao we can bring all our recycling there. Also, rates for recycling anything depand on the material you load into the dumpster, if the concrete has anything else like bricks or rocks and dirt they charge more.But in the end I am not aware of any public disposal site that is only charging $18 per ***** am the onwer of Grand and would be interested in speaking to you directly about this. my direct email os *********************************************** ThanksReview from arun m

We had bad experience when we tried their yard waste collection service. Their driver simply ignored the bags that we put out on curb with decals. This happened repeatedly. Finally we called in to complain (twice), both times we were assured that driver will come back but nothing happens. I then sent out email complaining but again nothing happened.One time my wife confronted the driver as he was leaving, he was rude and took only 2 out of permitted 5 bags.Now i am going to explore options to escalate this complaint and in parallel find alternative service.Their basic service is ok but once in a while you need that extra service and thats when you will realize that you are on your own and how bad they are!Review from User U

If I could give no stars I would. Missed pick up weekly for months. Had to call weekly. Finally called to speak with owner who told me, "Go F**K a dog", because he was having bad day. Wish I had recorded it. Professional business huh? AVOIDGrand Sanitation Service, Inc. Response

Terrible service. I have been a customer for 6 months and ********************** missed trash pickup 7 times already. Always has a lame excuse as to why but they always get the houses at the bottom of the street and the street around the block. Im paying for 2x pickup per week and they will not refund for missed days. Why pay for a service and not receive the service they offer?Grand Sanitation Service, Inc. Response

I am sorry ******************, we cannot offer backdoor service for your recycling at no additional charge. also, the gate on your driveway are constantly locked when we come to get your trash, we can't get in if the gates are locked!Thanks,Customer Response

**** **** response is patently false. You offer and have offered "backyard service" as evidenced by the charge on our Grand Sanitation **** (for about 12 years, if not more) and your own website. Further, you have provided said service for over **** years. It appears that you charge different rates for different municipalities, but you nonetheless advertise, offer, have provided, and have charged us for "backyard service". For example, here is a link to your website: https://www.grandsanitation.com/service/north-plainfield/ While you indicate by way of asterisk that "Longer driveways may require an increased rate.", you nonetheless offer said service. Grand Sanitation has NEVER indicated in over 12 years that there was an issue or requested an additional fee for our driveway.Further, no one ever requested "backdoor service". After months of your drivers failing to pick up our recycling from our backyard, and after repeated calls and numerous conversations with your staff as to our medical condition to no avail, you were provided with letters from our physician indicating that we were unable to bring bins to the curb because of medical issues. Grand Sanitation was advised at least six times verbally on the phone, by fax, and by **** regular mail. Pursuant to your reception, you were in receipt of our correspondence and we were advised for over two months that the issue would be resolve. It never was. We requested that anyone with supervisory authority call us. Neither ****, who was identified as the supervisor, nor anyone with authority ever extended the courtesy to call us back to address our Americans with Disabilities - Title III request for "reasonable modifications". Further, we do not, nor have we EVER, had gates at our property. So it is a physical impossibility to have gate or gates "locked". It is quite unfortunate that this is not only a violation of the **** but appears to be another example of bait and switch.Finally, it appears that you have retaliated against us and have dropped service within minutes of responding to the BBB. You failed to provide an explanation for discontinuing service, even though you provide a quasi-public service, and payment was never an issue as we have been on autopay for over a decade with never a missed payment.Review from Robert E.

Be extremely aware of this company and how they conduct business. Their truck backed into car on a Wed morning down a dead end street with only 8 houses. Clearly the only truck to do so. When I contacted the company they ignored me for 3 weeks and didn't even bother to investigate the accident. Finally the owner tells me to contact him he can review the back up camera. He's very near response qas he requested an estimate. After I did that he offered to send a check. However it never arrived so I had to take him to small claims court where he purebred himself by telling the judge his trucks don't have cameras that record. If you hirebthis company understand theu run at night when everyone is asleep and if something happens they will not do the right thing. Do you really want their truck on your street. That's because you lied and withheld video that shows your driver hitting my car. I have brought this to the attention of the judge you will be receiving papers soon. I will apeal this decision as my information is absolutely True! Furthermore I van **** suit against your driver. Just because a judge made a bad ruling doesn't mean spreading disinformation. And we have only begun our journey to the truthful resolution to this matter! Obviously you don't understand how the system works. Inconsistent service. I have reached out multiple times over the course of 5 months to get trash picked up. I was given the run around for five months with trash getting picked up ONLY when I called to complain. Having to deal with maggots because your trash wasnt picked up for weeks is bad. Having to fight for a refund for service you did not receive is even worse.
