    I received this text on 9/20/2024: “Your ****** has been charged with USD 260.41. Your item ****** has been shipped to San Jose, California. If you don’t recognize this please call ***********.

    I called the number, I panicked because I live on SS and a small pension. When I called the number a young man answered so I told him what I was calling about. He told me he was a Microsoft contractor and that he could help me. As the conversation continued he started discussing protection for my laptop. I didn’t have any extra protection on my laptop than provided from Microsoft. The bottom line is I supposedly purchased lifetime coverage protection and help for $1,499. This went on my CITI credit card on 9/23/2024.

    After the purchase he called me with the following numbers:

    He loaded two programs onto my laptop. They are: Webroot and CC Cleaner. I have the keys for them if needed.

    I called about a week ago and none of the 4 numbers were answered.

    For your information: On one of the last calls, Brian was wanting to tie my mobile phone to something he had loaded on my laptop. First he ask me if I had $20,000 because if the laptop and my phone were tied together we could easily transfer funds both directions. I told him I didn’t feel comfortable doing that. I think that’s when “Global IT Solutions no longer had any use for me.

    I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me.

    I don’t know how to upload documents, concerned I would lose everything I had already typed. Happy to scan and attach to an email. I have the invoice and another document with the other 3 phone numbers did not work and the names of the programs and their keys.
