1 starI filled out a commercial account application and was contacted by a representative. They refused to answer any questions about rates and cost. I asked over and over again and did not get a answer. It's almost like she tried to push my business away. I told her I was a new company with a new authority. She said I need to have a account with Amazon or a freight broker before she can give me a quote because she needs to know the exact miles I intend to run. I told her I been in the transportation industry for 10 years and it's impossible to tell you exactly how many miles I will run. I told her I can give her a estimate and she refused the estimate. From the moment she heard my voice I can tell she didn't want my business. I remained professional and tried everything to get her to answer my questions. She was obviously discriminating. I feel bad for the owners and CEO's because I'm sure they don't have a clue that these people are pushing away business. If I'm not mistaken I believe her name was Riley. I called the corporate number and was told to submit another commercial application and that someone will contact me. Terrible experience!!! I believe the representative name was Riley!!!Budget Truck Rental

1 starI rented a 16' budget truck for my big move from Arizona to Texas. I paid $2000 and shaved 10 years of my life because they almost killed me. The truck was NASTY. The floor was dirty, the passenger seat had this 10x10" yellow stain that wouldn't come off. The whole drive was about 1300 miles. I stopped at a gas station in the middle of nowhere 600 miles in and the truck wouldn't come on. I called customer service because I added insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance and they were helpful but super slow- I'm a woman in the middle of nowhere and you're gonna have me wait 1-1.5 hours just to get an ETA for dispatch.. when I paid extra for all these stupid add ons? Anyway, the mechanic comes and opens the hood, he takes a multimeter and checks the battery voltage, it had juice. 12v to be precise, so we knew it was something else, so he moves the wire insulator of the negative terminal and we were shocked to find it completely off the terminal. The positive wire was also loose. I've maintained commercial and private jets for 6+ years and so I'm aware of basic preventative maintenance; When you rent something, you check for dings and scuffs, tires, wheels and windshields but nobody pops up the hood and checks for loose battery terminals because that's something that should never be a problem! Don't ever rent a truck from Budget if you want to live.Budget Truck Rental

1 starIF I COULD LEAVE A NEGATIVE STAR REVIEW, 100% I WOULD.
I am in the customer service industry so I completely understand what should and what should not be done. This location and their front desk and Budget overall... complete GARBAGE! They rented me a truck that had a service completed the day prior to my arrival for a faulty Cadillac converter and an exhaust leak... as soon as I hit the freeway the day after I picked it up, I sat on the side of the road for SIX hours waiting for someone to help. It took three hours just to know if someone was going to try and help, I called to get a different truck and was told there were none available because it was the end of the month. I could rant on and on about the countless issues but to save time, understand, this is a nightmare save yourself do not rent Budget because it is the cheapest option. They will scam you and make it impossible to get a refund for what you're genuinely asking for AND they make you complete the transaction before you can even request someone to speak with you in regards to your experience because once you're complete, they look at that as you've used their services so they're not helping you. DO NOT USE BUDGET.Budget Truck Rental

Dear Mr./Ms. *****,
In regards to the aforementioned BBB complaint, thank you for giving us the opportunity to address your concerns.
Budget Truck values the relationship that we have with our travelers and always strives to do the right thing. We apologize for the inconvenience this matter has caused.
We are incredibly sorry for the experience you had and the stated condition of the vehicle that you received. Although we realize that we cannot make up for a disappointing experience such as this, we do show that our Customer Service did credit a total of $500.31 from your rental. As the rental was repaired and the move was completed we do feel the rental did have value and therefore would not offer a full credit. We do feel the issued credit is fair and reasonable and no other credits are owed.
Sincerely,
Avis Budget Group

1 starI will never rent from budget EVER! First off I reserved a cargo van for 8/6, picking up the vehicle was ok, but the experience could've been better. Once we got the vehicle the passenger wiper didn't work, the vehicle was damaged badly, wrecked on the passenger sliding door! The door latch was hanging! Just terrible! Returned the vehicle with the fuel where it was when I picked it up. Yet I was asked was it on full. I responded no! I put the fuel back into the vehicle. At pick up I was charged $280 after the drop off they tried charging my card $406.70. When I called the location a rep advised me it was mileage. I told her no way possible at .79 cent a mile that meant I would have traveled 514 miles. She didn't have a response and told me to called customer service, well I called them and was on the phone over a hr and has been transferred to multiple depts. I was told the charge was for mileage and insurance. On my receipt the insurance was billed at 29.99 spoke with a rep she told me 35.99. I told her that's not possible our number isn't matching. So two days of rental and a travel mileage of 250 come to $686.70! Which isn't no where near bout right. They are some frauds and needs to be shut down. As I write this review I'm on the phone The rep told me she was adding the numbers. I can hear her texting I'm saying hello hello and she disconnects the line. Just rudeBudget Truck Rental

1 starI have just left reviews for the Lawrence, Kansas and Colorado Springs, Colorado (Wayside Court) locations, because I was slapped with an additional $10 fee for returning my truck an evening early, after paying $735. It doesn't sound like a lot of money, but there was zero signage letting me know there would be the additional fee and the frat kid working at the Lawrence store did not care to review my contract with me as thoroughly as one might expect for driving a large, 16-foot vehicle across state lines. We lived 10 minutes away from the Lawrence location and it was after driving the truck off the lot and arriving home I realized the check engine light was on. I drove back to the store immediately, expecting a grand fix or a new truck, and the same frat kid tried to explain to me the check engine light came on due to the truck needing an oil change (this is very unlikely, as there is often a SEPARATE light for the oil). The same kid working the desk had zero idea how to hitch my car dolly to the truck - both of which were in sad shape to begin with, and that was before noticing the check engine light. I did shell out the extra for their roadside assistance, which, thankfully, because the kid did NOT issue me a new truck for my 8 to 9 hour drive to Colorado. Fast forward to seeing the additional $10 charge on my account. I had previously received a voicemail from the Wayside Court Colorado Springs location letting me know I'd missed including my damage inspection sheet with my paperwork I'd dropped off the night before (again, a night before the truck was due back). In this voicemail? Zero mention of the additional $10 I was to be charged. There was no sign posted above their mail afterhours drop slot. I called the morning of August 8, 2022 and likely talked to the same representative (*******?), only to be met with the unhelpful "It's in your contract". She told me to call them to give my feedback. Great, except I'd previously been routed via phone to ATLANTA.Budget Truck Rental

1 starabsolutely terrible! First of all, i had to drive 85 miles out of my way to pick up the truck because they refused to transfer the truck closer to my pickup location... Second, the truck was unsafe to drive! When the tow truck drive arrived he lifted the front end up and the drivers tire folded in because the ball joint and control arm were separated because they were so bad, the tow truck driver says i'm surprised your tire didn't fall off before the transmission went out! The customer service rep told me i shouldn't have drove it 667 miles then... WELL I WASNT AWARE I NEEDED TO GET IT INSPECTED BEFORE I DROVE THE **** THING!! NEVER AGAIN WILL I RENT FROM BUDGET!!! they costed me so much money because there wasn't even 1 thing mechanically sound about it so it used twice as much gas as the ****** truck did, when i was towing my jeep behind the ******! TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE!Budget Truck Rental
