1 star**************** . Twice now within 2 months I booked a car and got confirmation, yet when I arrive Im told its not available and they give me a completely different car . Employees are great , and they understand its frustrating and inconvenient . Management doesnt care to fix this issue and use this tactic on purpose just to get you in the door and hope you will take whatever is left over . Will be filling reports with all consumer protection agencies and will seek legal action for false advertisement and deceptive business practices . This is a deliberate business tactic not just an isolated mistake .Review fromAJ S

2 stars*********************** location. ********Went in a typical family trip in *******. Beach and nature. We returned the car and were charged for the sprinkle of sand (they had pictures) on the black interior floor boards. They charged us $250 for a cleaning fee, which was completely greedy and ************* they charge for wet floor boards in the snow? Dirt in the desert? Well I know they don't, because we have used them many times in the past. We don't trash cars, we barely leave a random wrapper in them when we bring them ******* took over a month for the charge to show up. It took over a month to get it removed. 2 starsDuring the rental, I discovered a significant tire bulge (approximately one inch) on the rear, right tire. This kind of sidewall damage made the vehicle unsafe to drive, particularly on highways or over long distances.I contacted Budgets roadside assistance, but they were unable to help. All they said was that I could drive the vehicle to a repair shop (risking my safety in doing so) and that they would reimburse me if I went out of pocket to replace the tire. No repair shops were open, as it was Sunday, on 4th of July weekend. So, I was advised that replacement vehicles were available at the nearest Budget location, so I reluctantly risked driving the unsafe vehicle there. However, once I arrived, I was told that no vehicles were actually ************ that point, with no viable options and needing to catch a flight, I had no choice but to leave the car at that location and take a $289.22 **** to the airport.This entire situation was the result of a vehicle safety failure and conflicting information provided by Budget staff. Im requesting:A refund of the $200 one-way drop fee, as the vehicle was unsafe and I made every effort to return it properly.Reimbursement of the $289.22 **** fare, which was a direct result of the vehicle issue and Budgets inability to provide a replacement.Budget Rent a Car

1 starDouble-charged, refused responsibility, and charged an inflated fee for less than a days use I prepaid a 9-day rental via ********** (~435, July 1120), but Budget charged me again in full at pickup in ***********, despite my receipt. After hours of calls with Budget customer service and the pickup branch, no one resolved it.Frustrated, we returned the car less than 24 hours later, and Budget still charged us a heavily inflated fee without explanation a flat, unfair rate thats not even close to proportional.We lost over 6 hours of our trip trying to fix their mistake. Staff were unhelpful and dismissive. No accountability. We also incurred several extra **** rides due to this situation.Budget: do better. 1 starLast week I picked up a Budget rental at close to 2am. Car wouldn't start- we had to have a tech start it-said we had to hold the fob next to the start button. Office at the airport was closing. During drive to hotel- constant error messages on dash, navigation **************** camera didn't work. At hotel, we couldn't lock the car- tried for over half an hour- at 3am. In the morning I called customer service- *** apologized, told me to exchange the car, and create a profile so I could get a free day rental on a future trip OR $80 off the current rental, due to all the problems we went through. We drove back to the airport & exchanged the car- *** said it sounded like the car was never taken out of transport mode. When I returned home from the trip I created a profile. Called customer service this morning- the person I spoke to said there was NO RECORD on my case ID of the $80 refund offer- only a 1 day free off a future rental. I said I would prefer the $80 refund as after this experience I wasn't likely to use Budget, I asked if I could speak to someone else or they could contact the woman I spoke with - answer was no. I don't travel often so am unlikely to use a free day rental before the offer expires. I was promised $80 off last week's rental- it took many hours in the middle of the night & the next morning to get the issue resolved. I would like the $80 refund I was promised. Another letter to customer service- answer was they "COULD NOT" give me the $80 refund I was promised.Budget Rent a Car

1 starThey advertised a pay now rate of $232.55 with no mention of taxes / fees being added to this anywhere near the pay now rate. When I got my credit card statement, I was actually charged $369 which is an extra $130 in extra taxes and fees It is really frustrating when I booked the vehicle expecting to pay one price to find out I was charged a substantial amount more.Budget Rent a Car

1 starOriginal rental was done on February 3rd 8:40 pm for a 12 *************** called to change pick up date only to the 3rd of July instead of the 2nd ****** Advised everything stayed the same just the pick up date, that was done on June 18th went through reservations on the June 28th few days before leaving and they changed my to a 7 passenger ******* Navigator called customer service spoke to ******* who advised they would take 1 day off rental, called on the 30th and spoke to ***** who stated they did not create a profile and she would create the profile and apply a coupon. Go to the location on Tuesday two days before we pick up the guy at the counter says we have no way to apply a coupon and we have no vehicles here go on Thursday, July 3 to pick up the vehicle. The guy owes me you will be charged upfront and gives me a **** expedition which is way smaller than the ******* navigator we rode 2200 miles cramped up with luggage sitting on us. Two kids in car seats had to rent another vehicle for the other five passengers that we're going and budget just wants to keep giving me a runaround first the coupon that doesn't work for the class car that I have then they tell me they'll take a day off my rental so I don't have to pay upfront, but then turns around and charges me upfront. They didn't say they'll take two days off the rental call back to extend the rental due to an emergency and they charge me or tried to charge me $40,181.00 this company is the biggest scam artist ever.Budget Rent a Car

1 starWorst company I have ever dealt with. Rented a car for 1 day. Picked up on 7/31 and returned it on 8/1. For some reason, the Budget worker did not check the car in. So instead of getting charged for $167.25. I was charged $1,129.37 for 6 days. I've spent almost a year dealing with this issue and got nowhere. Company just doesn't give sh%T about their customers. I've rented from ********************** and **** for years. When I call I can only speak to someone who hardly speaks a lick of English and who simply doesn't care. Your company is awful. Neither I, nor my family, nor anyone in my business will ever use Budget or **** EVER again. I did not agree to this refund amount. You all said this is all you would give me. You all owe me more than $282.60. You can keep your dirty money. I havent received it anyway. You owe me now an additional $679.52 on top of that amount. My rental agreement was for 1 day which was for July 31 through Aug 1st. The total on the agreement was $167.25. I returned the car within the time of the rental agreement as I dropped off the car on August 1st. However, your worker there failed to check in the vehicle in your system and I was charged $1,129.37. Apparently he didnt check it in until August 6th. I actually was in ************ on August 6th, so Im not sure how I could have returned it then. Even with the $282.60 refund (which I still have not seen btw), you all still owe me $679.52. My brother and I dropped the vehicle off at the Budget at the ************************ and the worker there said to just to leave the keys and he would check it in. I have a witness (my brother) and Im sure you all can pull video cameras from the airport to show I dropped it off on time. I also presented to you all a gas receipt last year from a nearby gas station to prove I topped off the vehicle as evidence in the dispute process. You all promised multiple times I would receive a full refund which I did not. You all can keep your ill-gotten money. What makes me so angry about all this is that I flew to out to ******** to visit my dad in *** as he only had days to live due to cancer treatment complications. He was on his deathbed. I flew to ******, picked up the vehicle at Budget on July 31. I then dropped the vehicle off at the ************************ on August 1. I didnt need the rental as my brother lives in **************** and I was able to use his extra car while there. My father died on August 4. I couldnt believe that after all our family went through you all would s**** us over and not care. *************. As much as I, my family, and my company have used Budget and **** over the years, I dont think your company cares a lick. You all ****. There are tons of reviews about how Budget scams people and overcharge. What you did to me is not uncommon business practice for your company apparently. Good riddance.
