Following fee was imposed without consulting the owner as part of “other fee” in FDD, amounts to$8382.31($1042.4+$581.74+$300+$1391+$287.29+$590.02+$515+$1391+$178.57+$714.29+$1391).
During the purchase of the franchise, I was told that only 9.5% royalty will be charged and a fee for test innovators will be charged at the end of the year. I would request the owners or the top management to refund or stop these charges as there were 3 owner who have given up running your franchise in my location mainly due to fraudulent or additional amount charged to owners which is making it difficult to run the business. Huntersville North Carolina is scaled similar to California / New jersey/ New York /other major cities where parents are ready to pay heavy price for their children. I request to franchise owner to remove
    1. Advertisement fee – (90 days advertisement was announced free for new owners.
    2. Training fee - Training for new owners was part of transfer fee and should not be imposed.
    3. Technology fee makes sense and I am ready to pay.
    4. Royalty fee makes sense as part of FDD and its acceptable.
    5. Mandatory CSC and CEC fee was not informed and it’s mentioned in other fee in FDD and no time line is provided. (Should be removed and not made mandatory)
I would request a reply only from the owner to give HLC Huntersville a fair chance to survive and refund these charges and in future only consider royalty fee and technology fee. All other fee was not mentioned during the meeting before purchasing the franchise and was kept as a secret weapon to make money once the franchise was purchased.
Please check the history of survival of other 3 owners who had to give up due to insane charges by franchise management. Consider the fact that owner is facing challenges such as rent, salaries, insurance, payroll, local advertisement and office expenses. I want top management to understand the concerns of small businesses as I am paying out of my pocket to run the business. Pleasehelp

Spoke to the director on or about December 2022 and enrolled my son (17) for ACT tutoring. Was guaranteed he would substantially increase his ACT score of 23. He took 9 tutoring lessons (almost 2K), where he hardly ever had the same tutor twice (very inconsistent), times were changed frequently and most importantly, was hardly ever given homework to apply the practices/lessons he had learned. i expressed my concern to the center continuously and when he finally took the ACT test after the tutoring his score improved ONE point. I have called to resolve this matter and the only thing afforded was MORE TUTORING, at my expense of course. Extremely dissatisfied and certainly did not get what i was promised.

This company stole our prepayment for a ****** plan. DO NOT PREPAY THIS COMPANY OR ANY OF ITS PARTNERS, FRANCHISEES, ETC.Huntington closed a location in *************, **, with absolutely zero notice or communication in December, 2022 (they sent an email saying they were closed for the holidays, and would re-open on 1/2/23. They simply never re-opened). It turns out that it was closed after allegations of a 23 year old tutor began an inappropriate relationship with a 15 year old student, which is amazing to have to find myself on ****** (********************************************************************************************************************************************************************) instead of have some sort of proactive communication.I have spent 4-5 months now trying to figure out what the heck is going on, and have met complete silence from Corporate. The call center escalates me to a manager, who never calls back. Emails and web inquires have met complete silence. This is not a customer care **********************, this is simply a sales center. What am I supposed to do with my several thousand dollar prepayment for a tuition plan that has simply vanished? I talked to the ** AG, and they recommended a civil claim, which I am looking into, but I just want a refund of money that was simply put, in my opinion, stolen from me. I'm almost certain if I ever do hear from them it is going to be a 'each facility is individually owned and operated, so not our problem', which is the stance a company takes when they want to be absolutely certain to never get another dollar out of me, and to have me spreading the word to everyone I know.I highly recommend not having anything to do with this company, and most certainly do NOT prepay them for any services. Corporate does NOT stand behind their franchisees that are trading on their name.

I have been trying to get my refund from this school for the last 8 months. I have been lied to everytime I talk to the owner. I was also told I had to wait until he cashed in is 401 that he did not have my refund. How is this school operating? The teachers seem to be good , however this owner is horrible. Now he won't even talk to me. I have other people who have the same issue which I have contacted who are due refunds.
