The clothing company Rumored has not refunded my money. My item was ordered April 3, received on April 8th and returned on April 8th. I paid the return label fee and sent back. I still have not received a refund. They did receive the item back and still havent refunded my money months later. They have stolen my money.Initial Complaint

I made a transaction to the company Rumored and requested a return as the item I purchased did not fir correctly. When I requested a return, it asked if I would like a refund or in store credit. I asked for a refund to original payment method, and it went through. A couple days later, instead of a refund they gave me in store credit which I did not ask for. They told me they could not give me a refund due to it being purchased during a promotional event. This policy was NEVER stated when I purchased the item nor was I told this when I submitted the return for a refund. I want my money back. This is unacceptable. Hello, I just feel that they playing games to not give you return back even is in they policy. For first one they said that item been wear and I just got out from bag seen that doesnt fit and send back with tag and in original packing. Now for other return that is send two weeks ago they dont have report from wearhouse to proceed my return back. I am afraid now they are waiting for some time and they will said that didnt come on time to not proceede with return. Also for one they try to convince me that I buy on sale price so I cant do return even I bought it for regular price. I loved clothing on this site so I ordered several, some didnt fit so I return and with each end every was some issue from they side, I needed to chose fore some store credit that I dont see on my account on they site. I saw some complains on the comments on they site so I guess I am not the only one who have trouble and is disappointed in they customer service. It is very shame because it seams they have good things to offers but this is not a way to make a good business. They should respect they customers and they can make much better incomes like that. Thats why is company I work for so successful because we do everything to make our customers happy. And Ill never misused or send something back if is not exactly what I got it and I send all in right timelineInitial Complaint

I placed an order with the vendor for a dress on May 15th, 2023. The dress did not fit my body so I returned it. Upon receiving the return, the vendor issued me a store credit (versus a refund). When I noted this error they stated that it did not fall within the window of their return for refund policy, which was in direct conflict with the instructions given on the returns form. Their now stated policy is that an item must be received within 14 days which relies on a notoriously unpredictable agency, the US postal service, to be prompt. Their policy penalizes the customer for a flawed agency's inefficiencies in a way that feels purposeful.In an attempt to move forward, I made (and then returned) several orders over time using the store credit. Of these, the last two ordered included the wrong item completely. The second incorrect order I received was the exact same (incorrect) item that I had just sent back.As I stated to Rumored, to call my customer experience disappointing would be a severe understatement. A limited and strictly enforced return policy could be navigated, as could repeated mistakes by a business in merchandising, but both, coupled with a return policy that was not clearly communicated or easily accessible has been a stretch too far. When I reached out following this last problem, they promptly ignored my outreach and then closed the ticket when I followed up.Initial Complaint

This is regarding Order ****** placed on 9/28/2023. I purchased items for a total cost of $639, $481 of which I used my credit card for and the other $158 was on gift cards. I ended up returning some items for a total amount of $478 as I chose to keep the remaining $161 of merchandise. The return policy states only that the funds will be refunded back to the original payment method. I ended up getting the email for the refund and noticed that $158 was credited to my gift cards while only $320 went back to my credit card. When I emailed asking if there was a mistake, I was told that the full amount was refunded back to my original payment method. I assumed this meant they refunded the full amount back to my card and the issue was resolved! However, I still only saw $320 credit back so I emailed asking for an update. They said that, as per their return policy, all refunds are credited back to the original payment method, which was a credit card and two gift cards. They said “We are not able to alter the payment methods or choose one payment over the other and our system does not allow it. The reminaing balance was refunded to the gift cards.” I assumed there was a misunderstanding since the total amount put on my card originally ($481) was higher than the refund ($478). I tried explaining this and they just restated the previous quote. My issue here is that their return policy seems purposefully misleading. Instead of simply “crediting the original form of payment” they are actually refunding the gift cards first before refunding any credit card or PayPal account used. Other companies like Vitality have this specified in their return policy as “if a purchase was made with part gift card, part credit card, the refund will go to the gift card first.” Since Rumored’s return policy doesn’t state that and I was unaware this was how they did business, I believe I are owed the full refund amount back to my card, which is my original method of payment.Customer Answer

I placed an order for CAD$468.02 worth of items (using a discount code). Once receiving, I chose to return the items. The total refund I am owed is CAD$433.02 ($35 shipping is deducted).I had read the return policy beforehand (I have screen recordings of the full website policy), and made sure that using a discount code would not hinder the ability to return / receive a refund, as opposed to store credit. I also made note that for ******, they needed to receive the items within 14 days. I returned the items the same day I received them, and paid out-of-pocket expenses for expedited shipping and a trackable number. Rumored received my items 7 days later. They are now denying me completely of my refund, as they have updated their return policy that you can't received a refund if you used a 20% off discount code (they have now added this on their website). This was not the policy when I purchased my items (again, I have a screen recording video of what the policy was when I made my purchase). They are saying I can only have store credit now.I am owed a large amount, and they are refusing to refund me. I made sure to do my due diligence and read through the return policy in full detail before making my purchase. I am left with no clothes, and no refund. I don't know what else to do -- I am entitled to my refund. The item was ordered on January 27, and delivered to me on February 6th. USPS Tracking: *************. I returned the item via Canada post on February 10th. As per the return policy, I paid for my return shipping. I had the item in my possession for FOUR DAYS. It took Canada post 11 days to deliver to their warehouse. Canada post tracking *************. This included a 3 day delay due to carrier issues finding the warehouse, which resulted in me missing the refund cut off by 24 hours.
This was completely out of my control, as there was a 3 day shipping carrier delay. The company refuses to address this, and is withholding my refund, even though I did everything in my power as the consumer to return the item as per the policy.

While the return was received just outside of our return window, we understand that the delay was caused by international carrier issues beyond the customers control, and we chose to honor the refund in full.
