Subject: Improper Medical Billing, Failure to Correct Known Error, and Care Disruption I am filing a complaint against Virtua Health for mishandling a billing error that led to missed medical care. On June 27, 2024, I received migraine treatment from Dr. ****** ******, which was incorrectly billed as a single claim instead of two. Prior visits were correctly billed under CPT codes J0585 and *****, and fully covered.Despite multiple Virtua staff acknowledging the mistake including ******* (Aug 19), ******* (Sept 9), ******* (Sept 30), and Marlyesta (Feb 10) no correction was ever submitted. I was told the account was on hold and would not go to collections, yet it was sent to ********** Management anyway. When I called again on May 1, I was told by Virtua staff that the claim had never even been returned to them for correction, contradicting what **** and ***** told me. I asked ***** at Virtua to confirm what we discussed via email, as I felt no one ever followed through he refused.**I have 10 pages of notes with names, dates and times**Ive now missed four crucial migraine treatments because this claim remains unpaid. I was specifically advised not to pay the bill because doing so would make it harder to fix and then penalized when Virtua failed to fix it.This has gone on for nearly a year. Im exhausted and hurt, and Im asking for the following:Remove this account from collections Resubmit the claim with the correct coding (J0585, *****)Provide a formal apology and explanation for the repeated breakdowns in communication and accountability This is no longer just a billing problem its a patient **** *******.******** ****** Virtua Account #: ********** ********************** ************

Today I called Virtua GI to set an appointment, because my GP doctor recommended I due so. I am so sick of the way I am treated by Virtua I can't take it any more. What right do you have to not deliver a message for my doctor! What right do you you have to tell me there are no appointments available, when afterwards I drove to the office and was given an appointment without any complication. That's been my experience with Virtua so far and today was just as bad. I called for an appointment and was hung up on because your representative accused me of being rude. I'm rude?!!! Your rep is the one that was rude. Go listen to the tape. Lets play the tape for everyone, lets hear the truth. She was talking over me, wouldn't let me finish a statement and hung up. She didn't like what I was saying so that gives her the right to hang up? Virtua is by far the worst medical organization I have ever encountered. If you call instead of going online with MyChart, get ready for one of if not the worst call center you will encounter. Can Virtua guarantee my privacy with their MyChart? Can you guarantee my medical information will not be hacked? Virtua is seriously affecting my health in a negative way. I will not be treated this way ever by Virtua or any other company. I demand a resolution to matter.

I received a bill from Virtua that was due on May 8,2023. The bill was for $2,188.00. The Guarantor ID # *******. I had gotten prior authorization for the procedure I was getting, so I was confused when I received the bill, but I paid it on time. Upon talking to a co worker, he said I shouldn't have received a bill, so then I called my insurance company, which is Aetna. The first time I called my insurance company(Aetna) was on 4-26-2023, I was told Virtua did not submit the bill to them, so the reason I got the bill was because the doctor had not been paid yet. Then I called the insurance company (Aetna) again on 5-18-2023 and was told that Virtua was going to submit the bill, but they still did not. Then I called Aetna again on 6-08-2023 and this time I was on a 3 way conversation (me, ***** & Virtua). I was speaking with ****** ************** from Virtua and she said she was going to submit the bill and I would get my money back in 30 days. The insurance company (Aetna) said the procedure was 100% covered. It is now past the 30 days and I have not received my money back.
