On April 26, 2023, I purchased a pre-owned vehicle from Holman Infiniti (Holman) located at ************************************************************ The vehicle was sold to me at the current (as of April 26, 2023) online advertised price of $33,200.00 (base price); I am not disputing this amount. Beyond the base price of the vehicle, I was obliged to pay a registration fee ($150.00), a third-party agency fee ($45.00), and a Documentation Processing fee ($599.00). Again, although I am suspect to the need to charge a customer almost $600 for documentation processing, I am not disputing these charges. However, I was also compelled to pay an additional $995.00 for a theft recovery system. I was unable to opt out of the theft recovery system, being told by a representative of Holman that it was not something they could remove, and I was therefore bound to pay the additional $995.00 on top of the base price, or an additional (approx.) three percent (3%). I believe the failure to include the cost of the theft recovery system in the advertised price is misleading under the current ********** car sales/advertising regulations that I have researched (I do not intend for this to be a frivolous complaint). Indeed, to compel a customer to purchase an option that they are not truly able to opt out of and not disclose the same until the paperwork is being finalized (and the customer may very well miss the fine print) is borderline deceptive. I attempted to resolve the matter utilizing online customer feedback, but after brief telephone conversation with a representative of Holman, I was only told that Holman felt their practice was legal, and there was no recourse. In addition to the above, I was also told by the sales representative at Holman that I would be reimbursed for the cost of a state inspection. I sent a copy of the invoice for the state inspection in the amount of $79.50 on or around June 16, 2023. As of the date of this complaint, I have yet to receive any reimbursement.

I have called and left a voicemail to review the clients concerns, and will follow up via email as well.  Upon his return call or email I will explain in detail.  It is not a required item, but is installed on all our vehicles.  I would be happy to help after reviewing all associated information.  thank you.

On Saturday October 23, 2021 I went to the auto dealer to test drive a 2016 VW Golf Sportwagen Sel. I noticed that on the driver side front wheel there was a bounce and severe vibration. The sales person at the time tried to get me to purchase it with the current issues which I refuse. We agreed that I would possibly buy it the issues of concern was addressed and upon another test drive of it. No paperwork was signed for the sales. I did leave a ****** deposit. Which I was told would be returned if I decided not to purchase.I was already approve for financing through pffcu for ****k with a **** interest rate. Sales person was to follow up on Monday. In which he did not. Tuesday he replied after I had inquired about what was the cause of the issue and my credit union had a 75k mile limit for used. I told they could reach to credit if I fill out a credit application. In which I did. Few days later I reach out again on what was the cause of the vibration. I was told that it was a wheel issue and that the ignition switch has to be replaced. By Friday 29th I was being pressured to pick up the vehicle and bring in my social security card. Followed up by a msg my credit union needed it. I addressed the issued with my credit union on Saturday morning in their office. Which they found out they a digit was off my ss number. With me there they called Holman and corrected the issue. Loan issue corrected. I asked them if I don't feel comfortable taking the wagen if I had too. There was no purchase and sale and no obligation to buy. When I informed the dealer that I would not be taking the vehicle and request how to get my money back. explained that I wasn't confident with the issues found, the advance technology was a distractions while driving . Instead they issued a adverse credit action again me and refused to return my deposit. No purchase of sales and now refusal to return my money. They decided it would be better to try to ruin my credit instead.

I left ******** a message and then spoke with her last week regarding her concerns.  She shared that she had a good experience with her sales person ****, but didn't like the credit letter she received.  I questioned if she ever was told we were not going to refund her deposit and she confirmed that was not communicated.  She felt based on the adverse action letter and not speaking with us that we were going to keep her deposit.  We have already processed and mailed her refund check and had no intention of keeping the deposit.  Regarding the letter I asked her to send me a copy of the letter so I can speak more intelligently about the contents.  I am still awaiting the copies, but pulled on our end what i believe was sent.  It is required by law under the Equal Credit Opportunity Act that and adverse action letter be sent to any customer whose credit is pulled but who did not purchase or lease a vehicle.  This includes if the deal is rescinded or unwound or if the customer chooses not to purchase or lease something.  This does not negatively impact her credit score.
